## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## gBizINFO Japan Company Profile Scraper

Full company profiles for Japanese corporations from **gBizINFO** (Gビズインフォ), the open corporate data portal of Japan's **Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)**. One run turns a list of 13-digit corporate numbers into structured records with:

- name, kana, English name, head-office address
- capital, number of employees (with the data source, for example EDINET), industry, business summary, website
- **5 years of financial indicators** from securities reports (EDINET): sales, ordinary income, net income, capital, net assets, total assets and more
- **government subsidies and grants** received
- **public procurement contracts** won (date, project, amount, ministry)
- certifications and notifications (DX認定, くるみん, えるぼし and so on)
- patent, design and trademark counts
- workplace data from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (average tenure, share of female workers and more)

gBizINFO content is published under rules compatible with **CC BY 4.0**, and commercial use is allowed with attribution.

### What can you use it for?

- **Market entry and partner search in Japan**: screen companies by size, industry, financials and government work.
- **B2G sales**: see who wins public procurement contracts and subsidies in your field.
- **Credit and supplier checks**: combine financial history, certifications and workplace data.
- **Data enrichment**: add Japanese firmographics to your CRM by corporate number.

Need corporate numbers first? Use the companion Actor **Japan Corporate Number (法人番号) Lookup**, or the name search below.

### Pricing (pay per event)

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| `apify-actor-start` | $0.01 | Once per run |
| `company-profile` | $0.01 (= $10 per 1,000) | Each company profile |
| `lookup-miss` | $0.001 | Number not found / name with no hits |

### Data and privacy

- **No personal data**: representative names (代表者名) and major-shareholder names (大株主, which can be private persons) are deliberately not output.
- Source: gBizINFO (METI). Cite the source as in the `attribution` field when you publish the data and state if you edited it. This Actor is not provided or endorsed by METI.
- Requests are sequential and slow on purpose (about 2 per second).

### FAQ

**Do I need an API key?** No, not for lookups by corporate number. Name search uses the official REST API v2 and needs a free token.

**How fresh is the data?** gBizINFO updates its sources daily or periodically (EDINET daily, MHLW workplace data daily, procurement and subsidies when ministries publish).
