## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Federal Contract Opportunities: daily, filterable

Every open US federal contract opportunity, plus award notices, from the **official public SAM.gov data extract**, refreshed every day. Filter by keyword, NAICS, PSC, set-aside, agency, state and deadline, and get clean rows you can drop into a spreadsheet, CRM or bid pipeline.

### Why this one

- **Reliable:** built on the government's official daily data file, not on scraping web pages, so it doesn't break when the website changes.
- **Fast:** results in seconds. No API key, no SAM.gov account, no 1-year date-window limits.
- **Complete rows:** title, agency, office, NAICS and PSC codes, set-aside, response deadline, place of performance, contracting-officer contact, award number, date, amount and awardee, link to the notice, and the full description text.
- **Cheap:** you pay per opportunity returned, a fraction of a cent each. Filtered-out notices are free.

### Who uses it

- **Government contractors and small businesses:** find new solicitations in your NAICS codes every morning.
- **Capture and BD teams:** track sources-sought and presolicitation notices before the RFP drops.
- **Consultants, proposal writers and teaming partners:** see who is buying what, and who won.
- **Analysts:** study federal buying by agency, industry and set-aside.

### Filters

| Input | Example |
|---|---|
| Posted within (days) or a date range | last 7 days |
| Keywords (title and solicitation number; descriptions optional) | `cybersecurity`, `janitorial` |
| NAICS codes or prefixes | `541512`, `5415` |
| PSC codes or prefixes | `D3`, `R499` |
| Set-aside codes | `SBA`, `8A`, `SDVOSBC`, `WOSB`, `HZC` |
| Notice types | `Solicitation`, `Sources Sought`, `Award Notice` |
| Agencies | `veterans affairs`, `army` |
| States (place of performance) | `VA`, `TX` |
| Open only | skip notices whose deadline has passed |

### Tips

- Run it on a **daily schedule** with *Posted within* = 1 to get a morning feed of new opportunities.
- Turn off *Include full description* for a lighter output.

### Data source and notes

Data comes from the official public Contract Opportunities extract that the U.S. General Services Administration publishes on SAM.gov. We download it once a day and serve it from our own copy; runs never contact SAM.gov. Award notices before April 4, 2022 have the awardee name removed, because those names come from a licensed commercial source. This tool is not affiliated with or endorsed by GSA, SAM.gov or any government agency.

## `openOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Skip notices whose response deadline has passed (award notices are always kept).

For award notices: only awards at least this large.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):
