## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Funding Leads: Form D, Reg CF & Reg A raises (funds removed)

Every company that raises private capital in the US under Regulation D has to file a **Form D** within 15 days of its first sale. That filing is a strong buying signal: the company has **fresh cash**, is **growing**, and is **hiring and buying tools**.

This actor turns those filings into a clean lead list: **company, phone, address, executives and directors, amount raised, industry, and exemption**. By default it **removes the ~2/3 of filings that are hedge, PE, VC and real-estate funds**, so you get real operating companies only.

### Three kinds of raises in one tool

- **Form D (Reg D):** private placements, the biggest source (about 1,300 new operating-company raises a month).
- **Reg CF (Form C):** startups crowdfunding on portals such as Wefunder, StartEngine and DealMaker. Includes the **website**, **funding portal**, target, maximum, deadline, employees and revenue.
- **Reg A+ (Form 1-A):** larger public mini-IPOs, with **phone**, industry, tier, offering size, underwriter, auditor and financials.

Pick any combination with the *Filing types* input.

### Who uses these funding leads

- **B2B sales and SDR teams**: reach out the week a company raises.
- **Agencies and consultants**: marketing, recruiting, fractional CFOs, accountants, lawyers.
- **Lenders and banks**: venture debt and treasury services for newly funded companies.
- **Investors and analysts**: track private raises by industry and state.

### What you get for each newly funded company

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `company`, `cik` | LIGHTPATH TECHNOLOGIES INC |
| `phone`, `street`, `city`, `state`, `zip` | 4073824003, Orlando, FL |
| `executives` / `people[]` | Name, role (Executive Officer / Director / Promoter), title |
| `industry` | Manufacturing, Other Technology, Biotechnology, ... |
| `amountSold`, `totalOfferingAmount`, `amountRemaining` | $ raised so far, target, remaining |
| `numInvestors`, `minInvestment`, `firstSaleDate` | |
| `exemptions`, `rule506c` | 506(b) / 506(c) / 504 |
| `revenueRange`, `yearOfIncorporation`, `entityType` | |
| `brokers` | Placement agents / broker-dealers paid on the raise |
| `filingUrl` | Link to the original filing |

### Filters

- **Days back** or an explicit **date range**: electronic Form D filings back to 2009 are reachable. Live filings from today are included.
- **Exclude investment funds** (on by default).
- **New offerings only**: skip amendments (on by default).
- **States** (e.g. `CA`, `TX`), **industries**, **minimum amount raised**, **506(c) only**.

### Pricing

You pay **per lead returned**, not per filing scanned. Funds and amendments that are filtered out are free.

### Data source and freshness

Data is read directly from official public filings each run, so it is never stale. Filings appear within minutes of acceptance.
This actor is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government agency.

### Notes

- Phone numbers and addresses are the **company's business contact** as filed. Personal addresses of individuals are not returned (only city/state).
- Amounts are as reported by the issuer. Some companies report `Indefinite` offering sizes.
- Comply with applicable outreach laws (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR) when contacting leads.
