## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper (2-in-1)

Scrape **app reviews** and **app details** from **Google Play** and the **Apple App Store** in a single run, with **one unified output format**. Paste any mix of Play Store / App Store URLs or IDs – or just search by keyword – and get clean, analysis-ready data.

### Features

- 🍏🤖 **Both stores, one schema** – the same fields for iOS and Android (`store`, `appId`, `rating`, `text`, `date`, `appVersion`, `thumbsUp`, `developerReply`…), so you can compare platforms instantly.
- 🌍 **Multi-country** – collect reviews from several storefronts (us, gb, de, es…) in one run.
- 📅 **Incremental monitoring** – `reviewsSince` stops at the last date you already have, so scheduled runs only pay for *new* reviews.
- ⭐ **Rating filter** – e.g. only 1–2★ reviews to find bugs and churn reasons.
- 🔎 **Keyword search** – find the top apps for "invoice", "meditation"… in both stores and scrape them.
- 📊 **App details** – rating, ratings count, histogram, installs (Play), version, release notes, price, developer, size, content rating, screenshots.
- 🛡️ **GDPR-friendly by default** – reviewer names replaced by a stable anonymous hash (`reviewerHash`); opt-in to include display names.
- 💬 **Developer replies** included (Google Play).

### Use cases

- **Product teams**: track feature requests and bugs after every release (`appVersion`).
- **Competitive intelligence**: compare your app vs. competitors on both platforms.
- **ASO & marketing**: mine keywords and sentiment from real user language.
- **AI / LLM pipelines**: feed reviews to sentiment, topic or summary models.
- **Customer support**: monitor negative reviews daily with a schedule + `reviewsSince`.

### Pricing

Pay per event – you only pay for what you get:

- **Review** – per review written to the dataset.
- **App details** – per app × country.

Use *Maximum cost per run* to cap spending; the actor stops gracefully when it is reached.

### Limits & notes

- Apple only exposes roughly the **500 most recent reviews per country** for each app. Add more countries to get more.
- Google Play has no practical limit; large apps may have millions of reviews – set `maxReviewsPerApp`.
- Data comes from publicly available store pages and Apple's public RSS/lookup feeds. You are responsible for using it in line with applicable laws (e.g. GDPR) and store terms.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

Google Play URLs or package names (com.spotify.music) and App Store URLs or numeric IDs (324684580). Mix both stores freely.

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Find apps by keyword in both stores and scrape them too (e.g. 'invoice', 'budget tracker').

How many top apps to take from each store per keyword.

## `searchStores` (type: `array`):

Which stores are searched for 'Search keywords'.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code for Google Play texts and App Store metadata.

## `maxReviewsPerApp` (type: `integer`):

App Store exposes up to ~500 most recent reviews per country; Google Play has no practical limit.

## `reviewsSort` (type: `string`):

Order in which reviews are collected.

## `reviewsSince` (type: `string`):

Optional. Stops when older reviews are reached (with 'Newest'). Perfect for daily/weekly monitoring — you only pay for new reviews.

E.g. set max=2 to collect only negative reviews.

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Upper bound of the star rating filter.
