## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Apps Database — 340K Apps, Ratings Growth Daily

Search **340,000+ iOS apps** by category, keyword, developer and rating — and **rank them by momentum**: how
many new ratings each app gained today, this week or this month. New ratings track installs closely, so this
is a free-to-query proxy for which apps are taking off.

The index is rebuilt from a fresh snapshot every day, so results return in seconds and growth columns are
computed from real day-over-day history rather than a one-off scrape.

### What you get per app

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `name`, `app_id`, `bundle_id`, `url` | Meowdoku! · 6739… · com.example.meowdoku · App Store link |
| `developer`, `developer_id`, `seller`, `seller_url` | Developer name, legal seller and **website** |
| `genre`, `genres`, `content_rating` | Games · \[Games, Puzzle] · 4+ |
| `rating`, `rating_count` | 4.8 · 329,165 |
| `rating_count_growth_1d`, `_7d`, `_30d` | **+5,416** new ratings in a day |
| `rating_current_version`, `rating_count_current_version` | Rating since the latest release |
| `version`, `version_released_at`, `days_since_update` | 3.2.1 · 2026-10-13 · 2 |
| `released_at`, `price`, `currency`, `size_mb`, `min_os`, `languages` | |

### Example searches

Fastest-growing health & fitness apps today:

```json
{"genres": ["Health & Fitness"], "sortBy": "rating_count_growth_1d", "maxResults": 100}
```

Breakout games released in the last 90 days:

```json
{"genres": ["Games"], "releasedWithinDays": 90, "sortBy": "rating_count_growth_1d"}
```

Indie finance apps with a website, updated recently (B2B leads for SDKs, agencies, ad networks):

```json
{"genres": ["Finance"], "maxRatingCount": 5000, "updatedWithinDays": 60, "hasDeveloperWebsite": true, "sortBy": "none", "maxResults": 2000}
```

Every app from a competitor:

```json
{"developers": ["duolingo"], "sortBy": "rating_count"}
```

### Who uses it

- **App marketers & ASO teams** — spot rising competitors and category trends daily.
- **Investors & analysts** — momentum screens across whole categories.
- **Agencies, SDK and ad-network sales** — lists of active developers with websites, filtered by size.

### Pricing

**$2 per 1,000 apps** returned (+ a tiny per-run start fee). Set `maxResults` and your run's spending limit
to control cost.

### Notes

- Store front: United States. Growth columns are `null` until enough daily history exists for that window
  (1-day now; 7- and 30-day fill in automatically).
- Data comes from public App Store listings. No reviews, screenshots or icons are included.
- Independent dataset; not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple Inc. App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc.
