## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Salary Data API — 158K Job Postings with Pay Ranges

Search **158,000+ current job postings that publish a pay range** — 142K in USD, plus EUR, GBP and CAD — parsed into `salary_min`, `salary_max`, `salary_currency` and `salary_period`.

No URLs, no company lists, no waiting for a scraper to crawl: the index is pre-built and refreshed
daily, so a search returns in seconds.

### What you get per job

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `title`, `company_name`, `department` | Senior Data Engineer · Acme · Data Platform |
| `legal_entity` | Hiring legal entity where the ATS provides it (Workday), e.g. S\&P Global Inc. |
| `country_code`, `city`, `region`, `location_raw` | US · Austin · TX |
| `workplace_type` | remote / hybrid / onsite |
| `salary_min`, `salary_max`, `salary_currency`, `salary_period` | 150000 · 190000 · USD · year |
| `posted_at`, `url`, `ats` | 2026-10-09 · original posting link · greenhouse |
| `description_text` | Full plain-text description (contact details removed) |

### Why this instead of a per-site scraper

- **Real advertised pay**, not self-reported surveys: ranges come from the employer's own posting (US pay-transparency laws in CA, NY, CO, WA and more).
- **Normalized**: hourly vs. yearly is kept in `salary_period`, so you can compare like with like.
- **Benchmark by role, company or location** — every record has title, company, city/region and country.
- **Fresh**: rebuilt daily from 36,000+ company career sites.
- **Source = the employer's own careers page**, not a reposting aggregator — fewer duplicates and stale ads.
- **97% of jobs have an ISO country code**, even when the posting only says "Austin, TX".

### Example inputs

Data scientist pay in the US (annual ranges):

```json
{"titleKeywords": ["data scientist"], "countries": ["US"], "salaryCurrency": "USD", "maxResults": 5000, "includeDescription": false}
```

What competitors pay for sales roles:

```json
{"companies": ["salesforce", "hubspot", "datadog"], "titleKeywords": ["account executive"]}
```

UK engineering salaries:

```json
{"titleKeywords": ["engineer"], "countries": ["GB"], "salaryCurrency": "GBP"}
```

### Pricing

**$1.50 per 1,000 jobs** returned (+ a tiny per-run start fee). Set `maxResults` and your run's spending
limit to control cost. Turn off `includeDescription` for lighter, faster results.

### Need every job, not just this slice?

This listing is one view of a 1.9M-job index covering 20 applicant-tracking systems (Workday, Greenhouse,
Oracle, iCIMS, Lever, Ashby and more). Search all of it with
[Job Postings API — 1.9M+ Jobs from Company Career Sites](https://apify.com/wleeaf/career-site-jobs-index).

### Freshness

Each record has `scraped_at` and `index_snapshot_date`. The index is rebuilt every day.

### Data use

Postings are public job ads published by employers on their own career sites. Use the data for analysis,
research, lead generation and job discovery; link to `url` when displaying postings publicly.

# Actor input Schema

Return jobs whose title contains any of these words or phrases (whole-word, case-insensitive). Leave empty for all titles.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop jobs whose title contains any of these, e.g. intern, senior.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

e.g. US, GB, DE. Use XX for jobs with no resolvable country (mostly worldwide remote). Leave empty for all countries.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Only jobs from companies whose name (or hiring legal entity) contains any of these strings.

## `ycOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only jobs at Y Combinator-backed companies (6,000+ YC companies matched by name/domain).

## `ycBatches` (type: `array`):

Only these YC batches, e.g. W26, S25, X26 (spring), F25 (fall). Implies YC only.

## `atsPlatforms` (type: `array`):

Limit to specific applicant-tracking systems. Leave empty for all.

## `workplaceType` (type: `string`):

Remote, hybrid or onsite. 'any' keeps all jobs, including those where the employer did not specify.

## `minSalary` (type: `integer`):

Keep jobs whose annual salary range reaches at least this amount. Implies salary-only.

## `salaryCurrency` (type: `string`):

ISO currency code to apply the salary filter to, e.g. USD.

## `postedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only return jobs posted in the last N days.

## `descriptionKeywords` (type: `array`):

Only jobs whose description mentions any of these, e.g. a technology like snowflake or kubernetes.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include the full plain-text job description. Turn off for smaller, faster results.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of jobs to return. You are charged per job returned.
