## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Products & Price Index

Search **millions of products from 22,000+ Shopify stores** in one place — by keyword, brand, store
country, price, discount and stock. No store URLs, no crawling: the index is pre-built and refreshed
every 2 days, so a search returns in seconds.

### What you get per product

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `store_name`, `store_domain`, `country` | Acme Outdoor · acmeoutdoor.com · US |
| `title`, `vendor`, `product_type`, `tags` | Trail Runner 2 · Acme · Shoes · \[running, trail] |
| `price_min`, `price_max`, `currency` | 89.00 · 109.00 · USD |
| `compare_at_max`, `on_sale`, `max_discount_pct` | 140.00 · true · 36.4 |
| `available`, `variants`, `variants_available` | true · 12 · 9 |
| `created_at`, `published_at`, `updated_at` | Launch and last-change dates |
| `skus`, `options`, `image_url`, `url` | SKUs, option names, image link, product link |

### Use cases

- **Competitor price & promotion monitoring** — every product on sale in your category, with discount depth.
- **Product research** — what independent DTC brands launched in the last 30 days (`createdWithinDays`).
- **Market mapping** — all stores selling a product type in a country, with price ranges.
- **Stock-out signals** — `availableOnly: false` plus `variants_available` shows what's selling out.

### Example inputs

Running shoes on sale at 30%+ in US stores:

```json
{"keywords": ["running shoes"], "countries": ["US"], "minDiscountPct": 30, "availableOnly": true}
```

New skincare launches in the UK this month:

```json
{"keywords": ["serum", "moisturiser"], "countries": ["GB"], "createdWithinDays": 30, "maxResults": 1000}
```

### Pricing

Pay per result: charged only for products returned. Use `maxResults` and your run's spending limit to
control cost.

### Data use

Product catalogs are published by the stores themselves on their public storefronts. The index keeps
factual catalog fields (names, prices, stock, dates) and links back to each product page; product
descriptions and images are not copied.
