## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Companies Hiring by Tech Stack: buying signals for B2B sales

Find **companies that are hiring right now for a technology you sell into**: Snowflake, Salesforce, HubSpot, Kubernetes, dbt, React and hundreds more. Data comes straight from companies' own job boards (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable and more), refreshed every day. **Database today:** about 48,000 open jobs from 1,250+ companies.

A company opening roles that mention a tool is one of the strongest signals that it uses (or is adopting) that tool and has budget: perfect for **sales prospecting, account-based marketing, partnerships and competitive intelligence**.

### Example

Companies that opened Snowflake or dbt roles in the last 30 days:

```json
{ "technologies": ["Snowflake", "dbt"], "newWithinDays": 30 }
```

Companies hiring Salesforce admins/engineers in the US:

```json
{ "technologies": ["Salesforce"], "countries": ["US"], "minNewJobs": 2 }
```

### Output (one row per company)

`company`, `company_website`, `company_industry`, `company_team_size`, `new_jobs` (matching roles opened in the window), `matching_jobs`, `open_jobs`, `open_jobs_30_days_ago` (growth), `remote_share`, `top_departments`, `top_technologies` (their wider stack), `hiring_countries`, `seniority_mix`, `new_job_titles`, `new_job_urls`.

### Pricing

Pay per company row. Runs with no matches charge nothing. Use **Max results** to cap spend.

### FAQ

**Where does the tech stack come from?** From the technologies mentioned in each company's open job postings, matched with a curated list of tools.

**How fresh is it?** Refreshed daily; `database_updated_at` shows when.

**Can I check specific accounts?** Use the full **Company Jobs Search + Hiring Signals** Actor by the same developer: it accepts your own list of company websites.

### Data and use

Only public job-posting data from official public job board endpoints, aggregated per company. No personal data.

### What you can do with it

- Find companies using Snowflake, Salesforce, HubSpot, AWS, Kubernetes, dbt or React from their job postings
- Build account-based marketing (ABM) lists of companies adopting a technology right now
- Spot competitor customers and migration opportunities (e.g. companies hiring for a tool you replace)
- Prioritise sales outreach by hiring momentum: new roles opened, open roles 30 days ago, growth
- Find partners and integration prospects in a tech ecosystem
- Enrich your CRM with the wider tech stack each company mentions in its job ads

### What it costs

| Example | Cost |
| --- | --- |
| 25 target accounts | about $0.75 |
| 100 target accounts | about $3.00 |
| a weekly list of 50 accounts for a month | about $6.00 |

You only pay for rows you get. Set **Max results** (or a maximum cost per run in Apify) to cap spend. Apify's free plan includes monthly credit, so you can try it at no cost. Apify subscribers get automatic Store discounts on some events.

### Use it from code, no-code tools or AI agents

**Python** (`pip install apify-client`):

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("worthwhile_quinsy/companies-hiring-by-tech-stack").call(run_input={'technologies': ['Snowflake'], 'newWithinDays': 30, 'maxResults': 25})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```

**JavaScript / Node.js** (`npm install apify-client`):

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('worthwhile_quinsy/companies-hiring-by-tech-stack').call({"technologies": ["Snowflake"], "newWithinDays": 30, "maxResults": 25});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

**One HTTP call** (returns the rows directly):

```bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/worthwhile_quinsy~companies-hiring-by-tech-stack/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"technologies": ["Snowflake"], "newWithinDays": 30, "maxResults": 25}'
```

**No-code:** connect it to **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack** or a **webhook** from the Integrations tab, and run it on a **Schedule** (for example every morning).

**AI agents (MCP):** use it as a tool in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client through the Apify MCP server: `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=worthwhile_quinsy/companies-hiring-by-tech-stack`. Your agent can then ask for live job data in plain language. Use this tool when the user asks for which companies are hiring for a specific technology or tool (sales prospecting, technographics).

### More tools from the same job-data suite

All of these read the same daily database of jobs from company career pages, so results are consistent across tools.
