## Pricing

from $1.60 / 1,000 ranked keywords

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Competitor Keywords: see every keyword any domain ranks for on Google

**Competitor Keywords** shows you every Google keyword a competitor ranks for. Enter one or many domains (or a single page URL) and get each ranking keyword with its **position, ranking URL, monthly search volume, CPC, keyword difficulty, search intent, estimated traffic** and position change. It works in 90+ countries and languages, and you don't need an SEO suite subscription.

- 🕵️ **Steal your competitors' best keywords**: sort by search volume, traffic or position and filter to page 1 only.
- 📊 **Full SEO metrics in one row**: volume, KD, CPC, intent, traffic estimate, SERP features and whether the ranking is new, up or down.
- 🌍 **Any market**: 90+ countries, every main language, domains, subdomains or single pages.
- 💸 **Pay per keyword**: $2 per 1,000 keywords plus a small fee per domain lookup. No monthly plan.

**Workflow:** export a competitor's keywords here, check volume, CPC and 12-month trends in bulk with [Keyword Search Volume](https://apify.com/wrenfield-data/keyword-search-volume) ($4 per 1,000 keywords), then filter easy wins with [Bulk Keyword Difficulty Checker](https://apify.com/wrenfield-data/keyword-difficulty-checker).

### What data do you get?

| Field | What it is |
| --- | --- |
| `keyword` | The Google search the domain ranks for |
| `position` / `position_absolute` | Organic position (1 = top) and absolute position on the page |
| `url` / `title` | The page that ranks and its title on Google |
| `search_volume` | Average monthly Google searches |
| `cpc` / `competition` | Google Ads cost per click and competition level |
| `keyword_difficulty` | How hard it is to rank in the top 10 (0-100) |
| `search_intent` | informational, navigational, commercial or transactional |
| `estimated_traffic` | Estimated monthly visits the domain gets from this keyword |
| `previous_position` / `position_change` | Earlier position and `new` / `up` / `down` / `same` |
| `serp_features` | What else is on the results page (People Also Ask, video, AI Overview, …) |

The `DOMAIN_SUMMARIES` record in the key-value store adds a free overview per domain: total ranking keywords, keywords in top 1 / 2-3 / 4-10 / 11-20 / 21-100, estimated organic traffic and its value in USD, new / up / down keyword counts.

### How to find a competitor's keywords

1. Enter one or more domains, e.g. `backlinko.com`, in **Domains or page URLs**.
2. Pick the **Country** and **Language**.
3. Set **Max keywords per domain**, and optionally filters like **Worst position to include** = `10` for page-1 rankings only.
4. Click **Start**, then export the table to Excel, CSV or JSON.

### Use cases

- **Competitor keyword research**: find the keywords that drive a competitor's traffic and the pages that rank for them.
- **Content gap analysis**: run your domain and a competitor's, then compare the lists in a spreadsheet.
- **SEO audits and pitches**: show a prospect where they rank today and which keywords are moving.
- **Rank monitoring**: schedule a weekly run and watch `position_change`.

### Pricing

This Actor uses **pay-per-event** pricing. Paid Apify plans get automatic volume discounts on keyword results.

| Event | Price |
| --- | --- |
| Ranked keyword (`ranked-keyword`) | **$0.002** per keyword returned |
| Domain lookup (`domain-lookup`) | **$0.03** per domain, for each block of up to 1,000 keywords |

| Example run | Cost |
| --- | --- |
| 1 domain, 100 keywords | $0.23 |
| 1 domain, 1,000 keywords | $2.03 |
| 10 domains, 500 keywords each | $10.30 |

Set **Maximum cost per run** in the run options to cap your spend; the Actor stops cleanly when it's reached. **Free Apify plan:** 1 domain and 20 keywords per run.

### Use it through the API, on a schedule or with AI agents

**One-link MCP setup:** `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=wrenfield-data/competitor-keywords` (Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client). Set `maxTotalChargeUsd` on the run to cap what it can charge.

Run it from Python, JavaScript or any HTTP client with the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), schedule it to track changes every week or month, or connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets and other integrations. AI agents can call it through the Apify MCP server.

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/wrenfield-data~competitor-keywords/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"domains": ["backlinko.com"], "maxKeywordsPerDomain": 100}'
```

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?**
From a licensed SEO database that tracks Google results for hundreds of millions of keywords, refreshed regularly. `serp_checked_at` shows when each result was last checked.

**Why is `estimated_traffic` low for a high-volume keyword?**
Traffic depends on position. A keyword with 1M searches at position 14 sends far fewer clicks than one at position 1.

**Can I check a single page instead of a whole domain?**
Yes. Paste the full URL (e.g. `https://example.com/blog/post`).

**Does it include paid (Google Ads) keywords?**
Set **Result types** to *Organic + paid*.
