## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Snapchat Profile API | Stories & Highlights

Retrieve structured Snapchat profile data, stories, highlights, and related accounts for creator research and monitoring workflows. You provide a ScrapeCreators API key; this Actor returns one ready-to-export dataset item per successful profile.

### Pricing

- **$0.003 per successful profile result** saved to the default dataset.
- Example: 100 successful profile results cost **$0.30**.
- Failed handles are written to a separate, unbilled `errorResults` dataset.
- Your API provider may charge separately for the API key you supply. This Actor does not require an Apify API token in the input.

### Best for

- Creator and influencer due diligence
- Snapchat story and highlight monitoring
- Enriching creator records with audience, bio, media, and related-account data

### 📥 Input Parameters

| Parameter | Type  | Required | Description                        |
| --------- | ----- | -------- | ---------------------------------- |
| `inputs`  | Array | ✅       | List of Snapchat usernames/handles; start with one |
| `apiKey`  | String | ✅       | ScrapeCreators API key; masked by Apify and never returned |

#### Example Input

```json
{
    "inputs": ["snapchat"],
    "apiKey": "YOUR_API_KEY"
}
```

Handles may include `@`. Whitespace is trimmed and duplicate handles (including different casing) are requested only once. Each successful profile is charged at $0.003, so validate one handle before submitting a larger batch.

### 📤 Output Data

Each processed Snapchat handle produces a comprehensive profile result:

#### Successful Response

```json
{
    "handle": "zane",
    "timestamp": "2026-08-07T12:00:00.000Z",
    "status": "success",
    "responseTime": 1250,
    "success": true,
    "userProfile": {
        "username": "zane",
        "title": "Zane",
        "subscriberCount": "1535700",
        "bio": "Time to get buck wild baby",
        "profilePictureUrl": "https://cf-st.sc-cdn.net/...",
        "hasStory": false
    },
    "curatedHighlights": [],
    "spotlightHighlights": [],
    "spotlightStoryMetadata": []
}
```

Only successful profiles enter the billable default dataset. Failed handles are preserved in the unbilled `errorResults` dataset with `success: false`, `status: "failed"`, and a customer-facing `error`. If every handle fails, the Actor marks the run as `FAILED` after preserving those diagnostics. The `RUN_SUMMARY` record reports requested, successful, failed, and billable result counts.

### 🚀 Quick Start

1. **Get a ScrapeCreators API key** and paste it into the masked API key field
2. **Start with one handle** such as `snapchat` to verify access
3. **Add more handles** only after the first result succeeds
4. **View Results**: Access comprehensive profile data in your Apify dataset

### 📊 Key Features

- ✅ **Comprehensive Profile Data**: Extract user profiles, bios, subscriber counts, and more
- ✅ **Stories & Highlights**: Get curated highlights and spotlight content
- ✅ **Related Accounts**: Discover connected and related Snapchat accounts
- ✅ **Media Content**: Access profile pictures, story thumbnails, and media URLs
- ✅ **Robust Error Handling**: Comprehensive error logging and recovery
- ✅ **Real-time Monitoring**: Detailed logging and progress tracking
- ✅ **Structured Output**: Consistent data format with full Snapchat profile schema

### Troubleshooting

- **401 or 403:** verify that the ScrapeCreators API key is active and pasted without surrounding whitespace.
- **Profile not found:** confirm the public Snapchat handle; either `handle` or `@handle` is accepted.
- **Some handles fail:** download successful rows from the default dataset and inspect `errorResults` for per-handle diagnostics. Only the successful rows are billed by this Actor.
- **Large batch:** validate one handle first, then scale gradually to keep provider usage and Apify charges predictable.

# Actor input Schema

## `inputs` (type: `array`):

List of Snapchat usernames to retrieve. Start with one handle; @ prefixes are accepted, whitespace is trimmed, and duplicate handles are requested only once.

## `apiKey` (type: `string`):

Required ScrapeCreators API key (not an Apify token). It is masked in Console and never included in the dataset. Start with one handle to confirm the key before adding a larger batch.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "inputs": [
    "snapchat"
  ]
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `profiles` (type: `string`):

Billable Snapchat profile results.

## `errorResults` (type: `string`):

Unbilled diagnostics for handles that did not return a profile.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

Requested, successful, failed, and billable result counts.
