## Pricing

from $0.49 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event and usage. You are charged both the fixed price for specific events and for Apify platform usage.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Udemy Course Catalog & Instructor Finder

Scrape **Udemy** course catalog data — search by keyword, browse categories and topics, fetch specific course URLs, or pull an instructor's full portfolio. Every course record can include current and list price, discounts, ratings, subscriber counts, full section/lecture curriculum, learning outcomes, requirements, certificate and caption details, badges, dates, category IDs, and instructor profiles. No account, cookies, API key, or proxy setup is required.

### What this actor does

- **Four modes:** `search`, `browse`, `byCourseUrls`, `byInstructors`
- **The filters buyers use:** level, free/paid, language, minimum rating, video length, quizzes, practice tests, coding exercises, role-play, certification prep, and closed-caption languages
- **Full course records:** price and discount objects, subscriber and review counts, curriculum sections, description, outcomes, requirements, target audience, certificate, captions, badges, dates, category IDs, and instructor details
- **Instructor portfolios:** a profile record with course/student/review totals and social links, followed by every course the instructor teaches
- **Pagination:** up to 250 courses per request and a 10,000-course cap per search or browse slice, with honest status messages when a slice is capped
- **Empty fields are omitted** — a course without a headline, discount, or badge simply will not carry that key

### Use cases

- **Course market research** — compare prices, discounts, ratings, and subscriber counts across a category
- **Curriculum benchmarking** — compare section and lecture structure across competing courses
- **Instructor scouting** — pull a teacher's full catalog and audience size before a partnership
- **Deal monitoring** — track list prices, sale prices, and discount percentages over time
- **Learning-path planning** — build a shortlist of courses by language, level, duration, and learning outcomes
- **Catalog enrichment** — add Udemy course metadata, badges, and captions to an internal catalog

### FAQ

**Do I need a Udemy account, cookies, or an API key?**
No. The actor reads publicly available course and instructor information without signing in.

**Do I need to configure a proxy?**
No. The actor connects to Udemy automatically; there is nothing to set up.

**How many courses can I get in one run?**
`maxItems` supports up to 10,000. Udemy also caps a single search or browse slice at 10,000 results, so use several queries or browse targets (categories/topics) to reach more.

**How long does a large run take?**
Each course needs one detail request, and `includeCurriculum` adds one more. The actor paces requests to stay under Udemy's rate limits, so a run that enriches thousands of courses with details and curriculum can take a long time. For very large collections, turn off `includeDetails`/`includeCurriculum` or split the work into several queries or browse slices.

**Why is review text not included?**
Udemy hides most review bodies from signed-out visitors. Aggregate rating and review counts are included, but review text requires a login and is outside this actor's cookieless scope.

**Why are some fields missing from a record?**
Not every course has a discount, badge, subcategory, caption track, or extra content type. Empty values are omitted instead of written as `null`.

**Which currency are prices in?**
Prices are the anonymous price Udemy serves the actor's connection, and `priceCurrency` reports the ISO code Udemy returns for that price (most often USD, but a proxy exit in another region can return EUR or another currency). Numeric fields use the same currency as `price`; no local-currency conversion is performed.

**Why is `listPrice` missing on most courses?**
Udemy only reports a list price while a discount is active. Outside a sale, the current price and list price are the same, so only `price` is present.

**Can I get an instructor profile for a numeric ID?**
Username and profile-URL inputs return the profile record plus courses. Numeric IDs still return all taught courses, but Udemy does not expose the profile page for a numeric ID alone.

**Why does `numLectures` differ from the number of curriculum items?**
Udemy's course header counts video lectures, while the curriculum also lists quizzes, coding exercises, articles, and assignments. `numSections` and the item-level `type` values show the full structure.

**Is this affiliated with Udemy?**
No. This is an independent, third-party actor that reads publicly available Udemy data.
