## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Amazon Seller Info Scraper

Find out **who is behind an Amazon store**. For each seller ID or seller link, get the store name, the ratings for each period, and **the business details Amazon publishes**: legal name and address everywhere, the **CNPJ** in Brazil, and the **VAT number, trade register, phone and email** in Europe. Seven Amazon countries, up to 1000 sellers per run.

***

> ⚠️ **A residential proxy is required**
> Apify Proxy's residential group comes pre-selected and is included in the price, so a run works as it is; or use your own proxy provider. See [Proxy setup](#proxy-setup). Then paste seller IDs or seller links, pick the country and run it. No login, no browser.

### Quick Start

```json
{
  "sellers": ["A3KYQPNF87CGZT", "https://www.amazon.com.br/sp?seller=A38XG6DPY3XTGC"],
  "country": "br"
}
```

> **Tip**: Take the seller IDs from the Buy Box and offer lists of your products, then run them here to see the company behind each store.

<summary>Sellers from several countries in one run</summary>

A link is always read on its own Amazon site, so one run can mix countries:

```json
{
  "sellers": [
    "https://www.amazon.de/sp?seller=A1HMZLWHQGG98I",
    "https://www.amazon.fr/sp?seller=A24G4ZQUGUVSQF",
    "https://www.amazon.co.uk/sp?seller=A1CS7PH8H8FTAU",
    "https://www.amazon.com/sp?seller=A19STHRQVFXE98"
  ]
}
```

</details>

<details>
<summary>The same seller in Spain and Italy</summary>

```json
{
  "sellers": ["A3AXTBIO0H5DID"],
  "country": "es"
}
```

Run it again with `"country": "it"`. The business details are the same; the ratings are counted separately in each country.

### Supported Countries

| Country | `country` | Business details Amazon shows |
|---------|-----------|-------------------------------|
| Brazil (default) | `br` | Legal name, CNPJ (or CPF for a person), address, and a phone for some sellers |
| United States | `us` | Business name and address |
| United Kingdom | `uk` | Legal name, business type, trade register, VAT, phone, business and customer service addresses |
| Germany | `de` | Business or individual seller, legal name, business type, trade register, VAT, phone, email, addresses |
| France | `fr` | Same as Germany |
| Spain | `es` | Same as Germany |
| Italy | `it` | Same as Germany |

Amazon prints what each seller filled in, so a field can be empty for one seller and filled for the next. Labels in any of the six languages are read, and the fields come out with the same names in every country.

***

### Features

| Feature | Description |
|---------|-------------|
| **Business Identity** | Legal name, CNPJ (validated) or CPF, VAT number, trade register number and business type |
| **Contact** | Phone, email and the customer service phone the seller shows |
| **Address** | Full business address, its lines, postal code, state (Brazil and US) and country, plus the customer service address |
| **Ratings** | Positive feedback %, rating and rating count for the last month, 3 months, 12 months and lifetime, and the 5 to 1 star split |
| **Any Link** | Seller IDs, seller pages, storefronts (`me=`) and product links with `smid=`, one per line or pasted from a spreadsheet |
| **Bulk** | Up to 1000 sellers per run, checked eight at a time |
| **Fair Billing** | You pay per seller read, Apify's residential proxy included. Sellers that are not found or fail are free |

***

### Use Cases

- **Brand Protection**: Turn the store names on your listings into legal entities with a tax ID and an address
- **Seller Due Diligence**: Check a supplier or a competitor's company and track record before doing business with them
- **CNPJ Enrichment**: Match Amazon Brazil stores to their CNPJ and cross them with the Receita Federal records
- **Marketplace Research**: Map which companies sell in a category, where they are based and how they are rated
- **Rating Monitoring**: Schedule runs to follow how a seller's ratings move month by month

***

### Input Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `sellers` | array | none | Seller IDs (e.g. `A3KYQPNF87CGZT`) or links with the seller in them, one per line (**required**). Up to 1000; repeats are checked once |
| `country` | string | `br` | Amazon country for the seller IDs (see the table above). A link is read on its own Amazon site, whatever is chosen here |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Apify Proxy, `RESIDENTIAL` | **Required.** Apify Proxy's residential group, included in the price, or your own provider's proxy URLs. See [Proxy setup](#proxy-setup) |

A line can hold several IDs separated by commas, semicolons or spaces, as pasted from a spreadsheet. These links all work: the seller page (`/sp?seller=`), the storefront (`/s?me=`), the seller's offer link (`/gp/aag/main?seller=`), a product page reached from the "Sold by" name (`smid=`) and the contact form (`sellerID=`). An entry that is neither a seller ID nor such a link is skipped, with an `error` row saying why, and the rest of the run goes on.

***

### Proxy setup

The Actor needs a **residential proxy**. Set it in the **Proxy** section of the input, in one of two ways.

**Apify Proxy (pre-selected).** Keep *Apify Proxy* with the **RESIDENTIAL** group; it is included in the per-seller price, with nothing to set up on your side. Each seller is read from an address in the country of its Amazon site (amazon.de from Germany, amazon.com.br from Brazil); leave the country empty for that, or pick one to use it for every seller.

```json
{
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": true, "apifyProxyGroups": ["RESIDENTIAL"] }
}
```

**Your own provider.** Choose *Own proxies* and enter your provider's residential proxy URLs, such as `http://user:password@proxy.example.com:8000`. Your provider bills you for that traffic; use addresses in the country of the Amazon site you check.

```json
{
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false, "proxyUrls": ["http://user:password@proxy.example.com:8000"] }
}
```

A run without a proxy stops at the start and says so. With datacenter proxies Amazon turns most requests away, so most sellers come back as errors; the run's log and final status message point that out.

### FAQ

<details>
<summary><strong>Where do I find a seller ID?</strong></summary>

On a product page, click the seller's name next to "Sold by": the link that opens has `seller=` in it, and the ID is the code that follows (it starts with `A`). You can also paste that link as it is. The Buy Box and offer list data of other tools usually carry the seller ID too.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Why was my seller not found?</strong></summary>

A seller page exists per country: a store active on amazon.com.br usually has none on amazon.de. Check that `country` matches the Amazon site the seller comes from, or paste the seller's link, which carries its country. Amazon's own store has no seller page either. Rows of type `not_found` are not charged.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Why is there no CNPJ, VAT or address?</strong></summary>

Amazon shows what each country's rules require and what the seller filled in. amazon.com shows a business name and address but no tax ID. Some sellers, mostly new ones, show no business details yet. `has_business_info` is `false` when the page has none.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Why are the ratings different in another country?</strong></summary>

Amazon counts a seller's ratings separately in each country. The business details are the same everywhere; `rating`, the counts and the star split are those of the country checked.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Why does <code>feedback_period</code> say <code>lifetime</code>?</strong></summary>

Amazon's header normally speaks of the last 12 months, and switches to the whole history for a seller with few recent ratings. `rating`, `positive_feedback_pct`, `feedback_count` and the star split always follow the header, so they describe the same ratings. The `rating_*` and `rating_count_*` fields give every period, whatever the header shows.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Some sellers are people. Can I use their data?</strong></summary>

The Actor returns what Amazon publishes on the seller page. A seller can be a person: Amazon then shows their name, and a CPF in Brazil or a phone and email in Europe. That is personal data under the GDPR and Brazil's LGPD, so make sure you have a lawful basis to process it, and use `is_business_seller` to tell people from companies.

The Actor keeps no copy of what it reads: the data goes only to your run's dataset, in your Apify account, and what is done with it from there is up to you.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Do I need a proxy?</strong></summary>

Yes, a residential one. Apify Proxy's residential group comes pre-selected and is included in the price, so a run works as it is; or enter your own provider's proxy URLs. See [Proxy setup](#proxy-setup) for both options.

**Keep a residential proxy.** With datacenter proxies Amazon turns most requests away and most sellers come back as errors; a run without any proxy stops at the start. When a run uses something other than the residential group, its log and its final status message say so.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>Why did a seller come back as an error?</strong></summary>

Amazon sometimes does not return a page on the first request. Each seller is tried several times, each time from another address, and once more at the end of the run, before it is reported as an `error` row. Those rows are not charged; run them again later. An error with the code `PROXY_FAILED` means the proxy did not connect at all: check the proxy configuration.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>How long does a run take?</strong></summary>

Usually a few seconds per seller, eight sellers at a time. At busy hours pages come slower, and a seller that needs new tries can take up to three minutes while the others carry on. Rows are saved as each seller finishes, so you can read the first results while the run continues.

</details>

<details>
<summary><strong>What am I charged for?</strong></summary>

One event per seller that returns a `seller` row, with Apify's residential proxy and the compute included: there is no separate charge for platform usage. Rows of type `not_found` and `error` are not charged. A seller repeated in the input is checked, and charged, once per country. If you use your own proxy URLs, your provider bills that traffic.
