## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Meta Extractor

Get the SEO and social metadata of any list of web pages in seconds: title, meta description, canonical URL, language, robots directives, OpenGraph and Twitter Card tags, favicon and H1 headings.

### What data can you get?

<table>
<tr><td>🏷️ Title</td><td>📝 Meta description</td><td>🔗 Canonical URL</td></tr>
<tr><td>🌍 Language</td><td>🤖 Robots directives</td><td>🖼️ Open Graph title, description, image</td></tr>
<tr><td>🐦 Twitter Card tags</td><td>⭐ Favicon</td><td>🔠 H1 headings and H2 count</td></tr>
<tr><td>↪️ Final URL after redirects</td><td>✅ HTTP status</td><td>🔑 Keywords meta</td></tr>
</table>

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free** at the top of this page.
2. Paste the **URLs** of the pages (or upload a list).
3. Click **Start**.
4. Download the metadata as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the API.

### What can it be used for?

- **SEO audits** – find missing titles, descriptions or canonical tags across a site.
- **Link previews** – get the title, description and image to render rich link cards.
- **Lead enrichment** – add a site name, description and logo to a list of company domains.
- **Monitoring** – schedule it to detect changes in titles or meta tags.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `urls` | List of pages to process (required). |
| `maxConcurrency` | Pages fetched in parallel (default 5). |
| `timeoutSecs` | Per-page timeout in seconds (default 20). |

```json
{
    "urls": [{ "url": "https://apify.com" }, { "url": "https://example.com" }]
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per URL:

```json
{
    "url": "https://apify.com",
    "finalUrl": "https://apify.com/",
    "statusCode": 200,
    "title": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
    "description": "Cloud platform for web scraping, browser automation, AI agents, and data for AI...",
    "canonical": "https://apify.com/",
    "lang": "en",
    "ogTitle": "Apify: Full-stack web scraping and data extraction platform",
    "ogImage": "https://apify.com/og-image.png",
    "twitterCard": "summary_large_image",
    "favicon": "https://apify.com/favicon.ico",
    "h1": ["Get real-time web data for your AI"],
    "h2Count": 12,
    "error": null,
    "extractedAt": "2026-10-24T10:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Export the results as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or fetch them through the Apify API.

### Pricing

You pay a small fee per page successfully extracted. Pages that fail to load are not charged.

### Limitations

The Actor reads the raw HTML returned by the server and does not execute JavaScript, so tags injected client-side by single-page apps may be missing.

### FAQ

##### Can I use it through the API, Make, Zapier or Google Sheets?

Yes. Every run can be started and read through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) (JavaScript and Python clients, CLI, MCP), and Apify integrations connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, webhooks and more.

##### Is it legal to use this data?

The Actor only reads public or official open data and doesn't log in anywhere. Check the source's licence and your local rules (for example GDPR when data concerns people) for your use case; if in doubt, ask a lawyer.
