## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

## China Company Website Contact Extractor

Turn a list of public company websites into clean, automation-ready business contact data.

### What it extracts

- Company name inferred from visible page metadata and headings
- Public business email addresses and phone numbers
- LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X/Twitter, Weibo, and WeChat links
- Final URL, crawl status, pages visited, and a clear failure reason

The Actor visits the homepage and a small number of same-domain pages whose labels look like Contact, About, 联系我们, or 关于我们. It does not log in, solve CAPTCHAs, bypass access controls, or access private networks.

### Input

Add one or more public company website URLs. Use **Maximum pages per website** to control speed and cost. The default is three pages.

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    { "url": "https://www.example.cn/" }
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 3,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 15
}
```

### Output

Each input website produces exactly one dataset item, so results can be exported directly as CSV, JSON, Excel, or consumed through the Apify API.

```json
{
  "inputUrl": "https://www.example.cn/",
  "finalUrl": "https://www.example.cn/",
  "companyName": "Example Manufacturing",
  "emails": ["sales@example.cn"],
  "phones": ["+86 21 12345678"],
  "socialLinks": ["https://www.linkedin.com/company/example"],
  "pagesVisited": 3,
  "status": "SUCCEEDED",
  "error": null
}
```

### Responsible use

Use the output only for lawful business purposes. Follow applicable privacy, marketing, anti-spam, and website terms. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for contacting people or organizations.

### Pricing event

The Actor emits one `website-result` event only when a website is processed successfully. Failed websites still produce a diagnostic dataset record but do not emit this custom paid event.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

One public company website per row.

## `maxPagesPerSite` (type: `integer`):

Visits the homepage plus likely contact/about pages. Keeping this small makes runs fast and inexpensive.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time to wait for each public website page before returning a clear failure record.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Used only as a fallback when a website blocks the direct cloud request. Disable it to avoid proxy usage.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    {
      "url": "https://www.example.com/"
    }
  ],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 3,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 15,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

## `results` (type: `string`):

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "startUrls": [
        {
            "url": "https://www.example.com/"
        }
    ],
    "proxyConfiguration": {
        "useApifyProxy": true
    }
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("yeoso/china-company-contact-extractor").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
