## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

### What does Movoto Listings Scraper do?

**Movoto Listings Scraper** extracts home listings from [Movoto](https://www.movoto.com/) search result pages - price, address, coordinates, property type, and more. Give it a city, neighborhood, or zip code search URL and it paginates through result pages automatically. Running it on the Apify platform gets you scheduling, API access to results, proxy rotation, and monitoring out of the box.

### Why use Movoto Listings Scraper?

- Track home listings and price trends in a market without manually browsing Movoto.
- Feed real estate data into research, investment analysis, or market-comparison tools.
- Monitor new listings or price changes over time by scheduling recurring runs.

### How to use Movoto Listings Scraper

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**) to open the Actor.
2. Paste one or more Movoto search result page URLs into **Start URLs**, e.g. `https://www.movoto.com/tx/allen-tx/`.
3. Make sure **Proxy configuration** uses a residential proxy (enabled by default) - Movoto blocks requests that don't come through one.
4. Optionally adjust **Max items** to cap how many listings are scraped (defaults to 5, and the first 5 listings are free).
5. Click **Start** and wait for the run to finish, then open the **Dataset** tab to view, filter, and export the results.

### Input

| Field | Type | Description |
| -------------------- | ------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `startUrls` | array (required) | Movoto search result page URLs to scrape. |
| `maxItems` | integer (optional) | Stop the run after this many listings have been scraped. Defaults to 5. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | object (optional) | Proxy settings. A **residential** proxy is required - see Tips below. |

See the **Input** tab for the full schema.

### Cost estimation

This Actor uses pay-per-result pricing: the first 5 listings scraped are free, and usage beyond that is billed per listing. See the **Pricing** tab for current rates. Use **Max items** to scope smaller, cheaper runs.

### Tips

- **A residential proxy is required, not just recommended.** Movoto blocks non-residential IPs and automated requests, so runs without a residential proxy are likely to fail.
- Scope `startUrls` to smaller areas (neighborhood or zip code searches) instead of large metro-wide city searches to reduce run time and cost.

### FAQ, disclaimers, and support

This Actor only collects publicly listed Movoto data. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Movoto. Respect Movoto's Terms of Service when using the scraped data. Found a bug or have a feature request? Use the Issues tab on this Actor's page.

# Actor input Schema

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Movoto search result page URLs to scrape (city, neighborhood, or zip code search pages), e.g. https://www.movoto.com/tx/allen-tx/.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop the run once this many listings have been scraped across all start URLs. The first 5 listings per month are free; scraping more is billed per listing.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Movoto actively blocks non-residential IPs and headless browsers with a CAPTCHA challenge (PerimeterX). A residential Apify Proxy is required - runs without one will fail.
