## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## eFinancialCareers Jobs Scraper: finance jobs and salaries

Scrape **eFinancialCareers**, the job board for banking, finance, fintech and financial technology, by keyword and location, in any country it covers. Every job comes with the **title, company, location, work arrangement, contract type, salary range with currency, posted date, closing date, the full description and its sectors**. Optionally add the **skills**, the employer's **job reference** and the employer's own **apply URL**. Filter by seniority, sector, contract type, experience, company and date posted. No login, no cookies, no eFinancialCareers account.

### What you get

| | |
|---|---|
| **Job** | Title, company, company logo, job URL, posted and closing dates, eFinancialCareers' standardised job title |
| **Location** | City, state / region, country |
| **Work arrangement** | Remote, Hybrid, In-office or Flexible (when the employer states it) |
| **Contract** | Full time / part time and Permanent, Contract, Temporary, Internship or Self-employed |
| **Salary** | The salary as shown, plus parsed **min, max, currency and period** — often even when the ad just says "Competitive" |
| **Description** | The full job description, plus a short summary |
| **Sectors** | e.g. "Technology / Development", "Risk Management / Market" |
| **Job page details** (optional) | Skills, the HTML description, the employer's job reference and the employer's own apply URL |

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **keywords**, e.g. `risk analyst`, `quant developer`, `private equity associate`.
2. Optionally enter a **location** such as `London`, `New York`, `Singapore` or `Toronto` (add more under **More locations**). Leave it empty to search every country.
3. Set **Max jobs** and any filters, then run.

Each keyword is searched in each location. **Max jobs** is the total for the run, shared fairly between your searches.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["risk analyst", "credit risk"],
  "location": "London",
  "maxItems": 200,
  "postedWithin": "7",
  "seniority": ["ANALYST", "ASSOCIATE_MID_LEVEL"],
  "positionType": ["PERMANENT"]
}
```

Hedge-fund quant roles in New York, with skills and apply URLs:

```json
{
  "keywords": ["quant developer"],
  "location": "New York",
  "sectors": ["HEDGE_FUNDS", "QUANTITATIVE_ANALYTICS"],
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxItems": 30
}
```

Only jobs at certain banks:

```json
{
  "keywords": ["analyst"],
  "location": "New York",
  "companies": ["Citi", "JPMorgan Chase & Co."],
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

You can also paste eFinancialCareers search URLs or job URLs into **eFinancialCareers URLs**.

### Output example

```json
{
  "site": "efinancialcareers",
  "jobId": "24814731",
  "title": "Senior Product Data Analyst - AP & Network Analytics",
  "company": "BILL",
  "location": "Draper, United States",
  "city": "Draper",
  "state": "Utah",
  "country": "United States",
  "workplaceType": null,
  "employmentType": "Full time, Permanent",
  "positionType": "Permanent",
  "salaryText": "Competitive",
  "salaryMin": 126900,
  "salaryMax": 151800,
  "salaryCurrency": "USD",
  "salaryPeriod": "year",
  "postedDate": "2026-09-24T07:10:20.107Z",
  "expiresDate": null,
  "summary": "At BILL, a fintech company automating financial processes, this Senior Product Data Analyst owns analytics …",
  "description": "Innovate with purpose\n\nAt BILL, we believe in empowering the businesses that drive our economy …",
  "sectors": ["Technology / Strategy Business Analyst"],
  "normalizedTitle": "Senior Analyst",
  "skills": ["Network", "Automation", "Analytics", "Reporting", "Accounts Payable", "dbt", "causal inference"],
  "applyType": "External",
  "applyUrl": "https://www.bill.com/job?6204385004&gh_jid=6204385004",
  "jobReference": "6204385004",
  "url": "https://www.efinancialcareers.com/jobs-United_States-Draper-Senior_Product_Data_Analyst_-_AP__Network_Analytics.id24814731",
  "searchKeyword": "data analyst",
  "searchLocation": null,
  "position": 1,
  "detailsFetched": true,
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-01T19:37:30.000Z"
}
```

`skills`, `applyUrl`, `jobReference` and `descriptionHtml` are filled when **Include job page details** is on. Every row has the same columns; a value the job doesn't state is `null`.

### Use cases

- **Finance recruiting**: see which banks, funds and fintechs are hiring for a role, where, and at what level.
- **Salary benchmarking**: compare salary ranges by title, seniority, sector and city, in the local currency.
- **Market intelligence**: track hiring volume by sector (trading, risk, compliance, quant) over time.
- **Job alerts and lead lists**: schedule a daily run with **Posted within: Today**.
- **Job board aggregation**: feed finance jobs into your own site or newsletter.

### FAQ

**Do I need an eFinancialCareers account, cookies or a login?** No. The scraper reads the same public job pages any visitor sees. It never logs in and needs nothing from you except a search.

**How fast is it?** eFinancialCareers asks crawlers to wait 10 seconds between requests, and this scraper respects that. A results page holds up to 100 jobs, so 1,000 jobs take about two minutes. **Include job page details** opens every job page, which adds about 10 seconds per job (around 6 jobs a minute) — leave it off unless you need skills or apply URLs; the full description is already included without it.

**How many jobs can I get?** Up to 10,000 per search. Set **Max jobs** to 0 to get everything your searches find. Use filters or more specific keywords to split very large searches.

**Why is a location skipped?** If eFinancialCareers doesn't recognise a place, it ignores it and returns jobs from every country. The scraper detects this, skips that search, doesn't charge for it, and says so in the run's status message. Use a city or country name, e.g. `London` or `Germany`.

**Why do some jobs have a salary range when the ad says "Competitive"?** Many employers give eFinancialCareers a salary range that the listing doesn't print. When it's there, you get it in `salaryMin` and `salaryMax`; `salaryText` always shows what the ad says.

**Which proxy should I use?** Keep the default (Apify Proxy, datacenter). It comes with every Apify plan, including the free one. If eFinancialCareers refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them, and carries on without them when it doesn't.

**What does a run cost?** You pay per job saved, per search, and a small fee per run; job page details are a separate, optional charge. See the Pricing tab. Jobs that are skipped or filtered out are never charged.

**Is it legal to scrape eFinancialCareers?** This Actor only collects publicly available data: job postings that anyone can see on eFinancialCareers without an account, such as the job title, employer, location, salary, description and sectors. Collecting publicly available data is generally legal, but you're responsible for how you use it. Job postings describe roles, not people, but an ad written by a recruitment agency can mention a consultant by name; the scraper removes personal e-mail addresses and phone numbers from descriptions. You must follow privacy laws such as GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA, as well as eFinancialCareers' terms. If you're unsure, check with a lawyer. More on this: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)

**Does it access any private data?** No. Everything comes from pages eFinancialCareers shows to any visitor without logging in. It never uses a login, never touches candidate profiles, applications or private accounts, and follows the site's robots.txt, including its 10-second crawl delay.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Job titles or skills to search on eFinancialCareers, e.g. "risk analyst", "quant developer", "private equity associate". Each keyword is searched separately (and in each location).

## `location` (type: `string`):

A city or country, e.g. "London", "New York", "Singapore", "Toronto". Leave empty to search every country. A place eFinancialCareers doesn't recognise is skipped (and not charged) instead of returning jobs from everywhere.

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Run the same keywords in several places, e.g. "Hong Kong", "Zurich".

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of jobs for the whole run, shared fairly between your searches (a search that finds fewer leaves its share to the others). 0 = everything.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open every job page for the skills list, the formatted (HTML) description, the employer's job reference and the employer's own apply URL. The listing already has the full description. Slow by design: eFinancialCareers asks crawlers to wait 10 seconds between requests, so this adds ~10 s per job.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional: eFinancialCareers search URLs (filters in the URL are kept) or job URLs (they end in .id12345678).

## `postedWithin` (type: `string`):

Only jobs posted in this period.

## `workArrangement` (type: `array`):

Remote, hybrid, in-office and/or flexible. Empty = all. (Many employers don't state it, so this filter narrows results a lot.)

## `positionType` (type: `array`):

Permanent, contract, temporary, internships & graduate trainee, self-employed. Empty = all.

## `employmentType` (type: `array`):

Full time and/or part time. Empty = all.

## `seniority` (type: `array`):

Empty = all.

## `sectors` (type: `array`):

eFinancialCareers sectors. Empty = all.

## `experienceLevel` (type: `array`):

Empty = all.

## `companies` (type: `array`):

Only jobs from these employers, written as eFinancialCareers shows them, e.g. "Citi", "JPMorgan Chase & Co.".

## `includeRemote` (type: `boolean`):

With a location set, also include remote jobs that can be done from there.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (datacenter) is the default and comes with every Apify plan. If eFinancialCareers refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them.

    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```
# Actor output Schema
## `results` (type: `string`):
All scraped jobs.
## `run` (type: `string`):
Status and statistics for this run.
## `report` (type: `string`):
