## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Etuovi Scraper: Finland property listings and prices

Scrape **Etuovi.com**, Finland's largest property portal, by municipality or district. Get every home, holiday home, plot, farm or garage for sale with its **asking price, price per m², living area, rooms and layout, floor, year built, coordinates, building type, agency, photos and upcoming showings**. Turn on **listing details** to add the **debt-free and selling price, debt share, monthly charges (hoitovastike, rahoitusvastike), housing company, plot ownership, energy class, condition, heating, bedrooms and the full description**. No login, no cookies, no Etuovi account.

This Actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Etuovi.com or Alma Media.

### What you get

| | |
|---|---|
| **Listing** | Etuovi number, URL, property type and sub-type (apartment block, row house, detached house, plot, cottage …), published and updated time |
| **Location** | Street address, district, municipality, region, postal code, latitude and longitude |
| **Price** | Asking (debt-free) price in EUR, previous price when it was lowered, price per m² |
| **Size and layout** | Living area, total area, plot area, rooms, room layout ("3h, avok, wc, kph, parveke"), floor, floors in the building, year built, new build |
| **Agency** | Agency office, website and logo, the listing agent; with details also the office address and phone |

| **Listing details** (optional) | Debt-free price, selling price, debt share, maintenance and financing charge, all periodic charges, housing company, plot owned or rented, energy class, condition, heating, bedrooms, features, availability, full description |

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **Locations**: a municipality such as `Helsinki`, `Tampere` or `Oulu`, or a municipality and a district such as `Helsinki, Kallio` or `Espoo, Tapiola`.
2. Pick a **Property type**: homes, holiday homes, plots, farms and forest estates, or garages and parking.
3. Set **Max listings** and any filters, then run.

Each location is searched separately. **Max listings** is the total for the run, shared fairly between your searches. Results come newest first, like on Etuovi.

Fields marked "with listing details" in the dataset schema are filled when **Include listing details** is on (or for a pasted listing link). Every row has the same columns; a value the listing doesn't state is `null`.

### Use cases

- **Price research and valuation**: compare asking prices and price per m² by district, building type, age and size.
- **Investment screening**: find apartments with low charges, rented vs owned plots, or price drops (`previousPrice`).
- **Market monitoring**: schedule a daily run with **Published within: 1** for every new listing in your area.
- **Agency intelligence**: see which agencies list what, where, and at what price.
- **Data for apps and maps**: every listing comes with coordinates and photos.

### FAQ

**Do I need an Etuovi account, cookies or a login?** No. The scraper reads the same public pages any visitor sees. It never logs in and needs nothing from you except a location or a link.

**Which places can I search?** Any Finnish municipality, written as on Etuovi (`Helsinki`, `Jyväskylä`, `Hämeenlinna`), or a municipality and a district (`Helsinki, Kallio`). A place Etuovi doesn't recognise is skipped, not charged, and named in the run's status message. Leave Locations empty and pick a property type to search all of Finland.

**How fast is it?** Etuovi shows 30 listings per result page and a page takes 1–3 seconds, so 1,000 listings take about a minute. **Include listing details** opens each listing's own page, roughly one or two listings per second.

**Why can't I paste an etuovi.com/tulokset link?** Etuovi's robots.txt asks crawlers not to read /tulokset result pages, and this scraper respects that. Use the Location, Property type and filter fields instead, or paste a search page such as `etuovi.com/myytavat-asunnot/tampere/kaksio`.

**How do the filters work?** Rooms, building types and sub-types use Etuovi's own search pages. Price, area, year built, seller type and "published within" are checked on every listing as it is read, so a narrow filter reads more pages. With filters on, each search stops after 50 result pages (1,500 listings checked) unless you raise **Max result pages per search**.

**Which proxy should I use?** Keep the default (Apify Proxy, datacenter). It comes with every Apify plan, including the free one. If Etuovi refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them, and carries on without them when it doesn't.

**What does a run cost?** You pay a small fee per run, per result page read, per listing saved, and per listing whose details were loaded. See the Pricing tab. Listings removed by your filters are never charged as listings.

**Is it legal to scrape Etuovi?** This Actor only collects publicly available data: property listings that anyone can see on Etuovi without an account, such as the address, price, size, building details and the listing agency. Collecting publicly available data is generally legal, but you're responsible for how you use it. Listings are published by real estate agencies and sometimes by private sellers: the scraper never collects a private seller's name, phone number or e-mail, and it removes personal phone numbers and e-mail addresses from descriptions. You must follow privacy laws such as GDPR, as well as Etuovi's terms. If you're unsure, check with a lawyer. More on this: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)

**Does it access any private data?** No. Everything comes from pages Etuovi shows to any visitor without logging in. It never uses a login, never touches user accounts, saved searches or messages, and follows the site's robots.txt.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Municipalities, or a municipality and district separated by a comma, e.g. "Helsinki", "Tampere", "Espoo, Tapiola", "Helsinki, Kallio". Each location is searched separately. Leave empty (and pick a property type) to search all of Finland. A place Etuovi doesn't recognise is skipped, not charged.

## `propertyType` (type: `string`):

What kind of property to search for.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of listings for the whole run, shared fairly between your searches. 0 = everything.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open every listing page for the debt-free and selling price, debt share, monthly charges, housing company, plot ownership, energy class, condition, heating, bedrooms, full description, all photos and the agency's contact details. Slower (one extra page per listing) and charged per listing.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional: Etuovi search pages (e.g. https://www.etuovi.com/myytavat-asunnot/tampere/kaksio, ?sivu=N is kept) or listing pages (https://www.etuovi.com/kohde/80536234). /tulokset result links can't be used (Etuovi's robots.txt disallows them) — use the fields instead.

## `buildingTypes` (type: `array`):

Only these building types. Empty = all.

## `rooms` (type: `array`):

Only homes with these room counts. Empty = all.

## `subtypes` (type: `array`):

Etuovi's own sub-pages, one search each (needs a location). Homes: uudiskohteet (new builds), omistusasunnot, osaomistusasunnot, asumisoikeusasunnot. Holiday homes: mokki-tai-huvila, lomahuoneisto, viikko-osake. Plots: omakotitontti, vapaa-ajan-tontti, muu. Farms: maatila, metsatila, peltotila, eramaa-alue, maaraala. Garages: autotalli, autohallipaikka, autokatos, autopaikka, venepaikka, varastotila, muut.

## `priceMin` (type: `integer`):

Only listings at or above this asking price.

## `priceMax` (type: `integer`):

Only listings at or below this asking price.

## `areaMin` (type: `integer`):

Living area (plot area for plots).

## `areaMax` (type: `integer`):

Living area (plot area for plots).

## `yearBuiltMin` (type: `integer`):

e.g. 2000

## `yearBuiltMax` (type: `integer`):

e.g. 1990

## `newBuildingsOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only new-build homes (uudiskohteet).

## `sellerType` (type: `string`):

Agencies, private sellers or both. Private sellers' names and contact details are never collected.

## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only listings published in the last N days. Results are newest first, so the run stops as soon as it reaches older listings — ideal for daily monitoring. Empty = any time.

## `maxPagesPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Each result page holds 30 listings. With filters on, a search stops after this many pages (default 50 = 1,500 listings checked); without filters it reads as many as Max listings needs. 0 = default.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (datacenter) is the default and comes with every Apify plan. If Etuovi refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them.
