## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Flipkart Scraper — Prices, Ratings & Offers by Keyword

Get Flipkart product data as a clean table: **price, MRP, discount, rating with the 1–5 star breakup, number of ratings and reviews, key specs, stock, Flipkart Assured badge, sponsored flag, search position and images** — for any keyword, Flipkart category page or product link. Switch on **product details** to add the full specification table, highlights, aspect ratings (camera, battery, sound …), the "with bank offer" price, number of offers, seller id, delivery estimate, return policy and cash on delivery.

No login, no cookies, no browser. Every run finishes with whatever it collected and a plain-English status message.

### What you can do with it

- **Price monitoring** — track selling price, MRP and discount for your products and your competitors' on a schedule.
- **Search visibility / share of shelf** — see which brands own the first results page for a keyword, at which position, and which placements are sponsored.
- **Ratings intelligence** — compare average rating, star breakup and aspect ratings (e.g. "Battery 3.8", "Camera 4.6") across a category.
- **Catalogue building** — pull titles, brands, highlights and full specification tables for a list of product links.
- **Deal tracking** — find the deepest discounts and the lowest "with offers" prices in a category.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Keywords** | What to search, e.g. `iphone 15`, `running shoes for men`, `boat earbuds`. One search per keyword. |
| **Flipkart links** | Category pages (`flipkart.com/mobiles/pr?sid=tyy,4io`), brand pages (`flipkart.com/mobiles/samsung~brand/pr?sid=tyy,4io`), search links (`flipkart.com/search?q=…`) or product links (`flipkart.com/…/p/itm…?pid=…`). |
| **Max products** | Limit for the whole run, shared fairly between your keywords and links (default 50; 0 = everything the pages show). |
| **Include product details** | Also read each product's page for the full specification table, highlights, aspect ratings, offers, seller, delivery and returns. Product links always come with details. |
| **Proxy** | Apify Proxy (datacenter) by default — included in every Apify plan. |

Example:

```json
{
  "keywords": ["iphone 15", "boat earbuds"],
  "startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.flipkart.com/televisions/pr?sid=ckf,czl" }],
  "maxItems": 100,
  "includeProductDetails": false
}
```

#### How many products per keyword?

Each keyword or category link gives **Flipkart's first results page: 24 products (electronics list view) or 40 (fashion and accessories grid view)**. Flipkart's robots.txt asks crawlers not to open further result pages, change the sort order or apply filters, and this actor respects that. To cover more of a category:

- use several specific keywords (`iphone 15 128gb`, `iphone 15 plus`, `iphone 15 pink`);
- add brand pages (`…/mobiles/samsung~brand/pr?sid=tyy,4io`) and sub-category pages.

The status message tells you how many products Flipkart lists for each keyword (also in every row as `totalResults`).

### Output

One row per product. A real row from 2026-10-29 (keyword `boat earbuds`, product details on; lists trimmed):

```json
{
```

Without product details a row has the same keys; the detail-only fields (`priceWithOffers`, `aspectRatings`, `highlights`, `specifications`, `description`, `color`, `returnPolicy`, `codAvailable`, `deliveryDays`, `offerCount`, `sellerId`) are empty. Electronics cards (list view) also carry `keySpecs` such as `"8 GB RAM | 256 GB ROM"` and the star breakup; some fashion cards (grid view) show price and discount but no rating — turn on product details to get ratings for those.

Download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or read it through the Apify API.

### Pricing

Pay only for what you get:

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| Product saved | **$1.20 per 1,000 products** ($0.0012 each) |
| Product details (product page read and merged) | $3.00 per 1,000 ($0.003 each) |
| Results page read (keyword or category) | $0.20 per 1,000 pages ($0.0002 each) |
| Run start | $0.002 per run |

Examples: 10 products from one keyword ≈ **$0.014**; 1,000 products from 30 keywords ≈ **$1.21**; 1,000 products with full details ≈ **$4.21**. Duplicates, products left over after your limit, refused pages and Flipkart's unrelated suggestions for a keyword with no match are never charged. Set a spending limit on the run and the actor stops cleanly before it.

### Tips

- **Monitoring:** schedule the same input daily or hourly and compare `price`, `mrp`, `inStock` and `position` over time.
- **Search position:** `position` is the card's place on Flipkart's first results page (1 = top) and `isSponsored` marks ad placements.
- **Product links only:** paste product links (no keywords) to track a fixed list of products with full details.
- **Category coverage:** brand pages and narrow sub-categories give different first pages, so a list of them covers far more of a category than one broad keyword.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to scrape Flipkart?**
This actor reads only public pages that anyone can open without an account — search, category and product pages — and follows Flipkart's robots.txt (it never opens the paths Flipkart asks crawlers to avoid, such as further result pages, sorting, filters, cart or review pages). Collecting publicly available product facts such as prices and specifications is generally lawful, but laws differ by country and use case: check your own use (for example, how you republish the data) with a lawyer if you are unsure.

**Does it access any private data?**
No. It does not log in, does not read customer reviews or reviewer names, and collects only product and listing data that Flipkart shows to every visitor. `sellerId` is Flipkart's public id of the selling business.

**Why only one results page per keyword?**
Flipkart's robots.txt asks crawlers not to open page 2 and beyond of search results. Use more specific keywords, brand pages and sub-category pages to cover more products (see "How many products per keyword?").

**What if Flipkart refuses the request?**
The run ends with the products saved so far and a clear message. Refused pages are not charged. If Flipkart keeps refusing datacenter IPs, the run switches to residential proxies when your Apify account has them. The actor never tries to get around a bot check.

**Are prices in Indian rupees?**
Yes — all prices are INR as shown on flipkart.com, without a delivery PIN code.

**Can I get reviews?**
No. Flipkart's robots.txt disallows its review pages, and reviews carry personal names, so this actor leaves them out. You get the rating, the number of ratings and reviews, the star breakup and aspect ratings instead.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

What to search on Flipkart, e.g. "iphone 15", "running shoes for men", "boat earbuds". Each keyword is a separate search and gives Flipkart's first results page (24–40 products). Specific keywords (model, size, colour, brand) give the most relevant products.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional: Flipkart category pages (…/mobiles/pr?sid=tyy,4io, brand pages like …/mobiles/samsung~brand/pr?sid=tyy,4io), search links (flipkart.com/search?q=…) or product links (…/p/itm…?pid=…). Sorting, filters and page numbers in a link are ignored.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of products for the whole run, shared fairly between your keywords and links. 0 = everything the pages show.

## `includeProductDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open each product's page and add the full specification table, highlights, rating breakup per aspect (camera, battery …), the "with offers" price, number of offers, seller id, delivery estimate, return policy, cash on delivery and large images. Charged as "Product details" per product (see Pricing). Product links you paste always come with details.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (datacenter) is the default and comes with every Apify plan. If Flipkart keeps refusing datacenter IPs, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "iphone 15"
  ],
  "maxItems": 10,
  "includeProductDetails": false,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

All scraped products.

## `run` (type: `string`):

Status and statistics for this run.

## `report` (type: `string`):

RUN_REPORT: how the run ended, counts, requests and proxy use.
