## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Home Depot Canada Scraper: store price, stock and aisle

Scrape **homedepot.ca** products with **store-level data**: the CAD price at a specific store, the **exact number of units in stock**, the **aisle and bay** where the product sits, online stock, sale and bulk prices, and ratings. Pick stores by number, by **postal code or city** (nearest first), by province, or take all of Canada. Search once and get the same products priced and stocked at every store you picked. Works in **English or French**. No login and no cookies are needed.

### What you get

| | |
|---|---|
| **Store price** | Price at each selected store, regular (was) price, savings, % off, bulk quantity tiers and unit price |
| **Store stock** | Exact units on hand at the store, stock status, and online stock |
| **Aisle & bay** | Where the product is in that store, e.g. aisle 8, bay 004 |
| **Product** | Product ID, name, brand, model number, URL, image, rating, review count, badges (Eco Options, Energy Star, Made in Canada), Best Seller tag, variant count |
| **Fulfilment** | In-store pickup, ship-to-home and delivery availability |
| **Details** (optional) | Description, key features, full specifications, breadcrumbs, categories and collections, warranty, country of origin, package size and weight, all images, manuals and PDFs, and the top customer reviews |
| **Stores** (optional) | Address, phone, coordinates, distance and opening hours |

### How to use it

1. Add **search terms** (e.g. `cordless drill`), **categories** (a category page URL or a code such as `category-drills`), any **homedepot.ca URLs**, or **product IDs** (the 10-digit number at the end of a product URL).
2. Pick stores. Use **store IDs** (e.g. `7001`), a **postal code or city** plus how many nearby stores to include, whole **provinces**, or **all stores**. If you pick nothing, store 7001 (Scarborough, ON) is used.
3. Set how many products you want per search. Optionally turn on **In stock only**, **Include product details** or **French**.

When you select several stores, the actor searches at the **first** store and then checks the **same products at every other store**. This is ideal for price and stock comparison. To give each store its own search results (its own assortment), turn on **Run the search separately at each store**.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["cordless drill", "paint"],
  "nearLocation": "M5V 2T6",
  "nearestStores": 3,
  "maxItemsPerQuery": 200,
  "inStockOnly": false,
  "includeDetails": false,
  "language": "en"
}
```

Track a fixed list of products across every store in a province:

```json
{
  "productIds": ["1001686659", "1000402560"],
  "provinces": ["BC"]
}
```

### Output example

  "position": 1,
  "language": "en",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-09-23T22:10:00.000Z"
}
```
With **Include product details** turned on, each row also has `description`, `highlights`, `specifications`, `breadcrumbs`, `categories`, `warranty`, `countryOfOrigin`, `packageDimensions`, `images`, `documents` and `topReviews`.
### Use cases
- **Retail arbitrage and reselling**: find items that are in stock at a nearby store, with the exact aisle and bay.
- **Clearance hunting**: sort by price, keep only in-stock items, and compare the same product across stores.
- **Price monitoring and MAP compliance**: schedule daily runs on a list of product IDs to follow prices and promotions in every province.
- **Assortment and availability research**: see which stores carry which products and how deep their stock is.
- **Catalogue data**: specs, descriptions, images, manuals and categories, in English and French.
### FAQ
**How many results can I get?** Every page of results can be collected, even for searches with more than 10,000 products. Set `maxItemsPerQuery` to 0 for everything. On very large searches, Home Depot repeats some products on its deeper result pages, so a few products never show up in the normal order. The scraper finds these by also going through the results sorted by price, and every product is listed once. Rows found this way have `page` and `position` empty.
**How is "rows" counted with several stores?** You get one row per product per store. For example, 200 products at 3 stores gives 600 rows.
**Why is the price empty on some products?** For some items, mostly store clearance, Home Depot shows the price only in the store. The row still has stock, aisle and bay.
**Which proxy should I use?** Keep the default: Apify residential proxies in Canada. Results depend on the store you choose, not on the proxy location.
**How fast is it?** About 40 products per request. 1,000 products at one store take about a minute.
**French?** Set **Language** to Français. Names, descriptions, specs and URLs come back in French.
**Where do I find a store number?** Enter a postal code or city in **Stores near** and turn on **Also save the selected stores**. Each store row includes its number.
**Is it legal to scrape Home Depot Canada?** This Actor only collects publicly available data: product listings, store prices, stock levels, aisle locations and store details that anyone can see on homedepot.ca without an account, plus descriptions, specs and top customer reviews if you turn on **Include product details**. Collecting publicly available data is generally legal, but you're responsible for how you use it. With **Include product details** turned on, results can include the display names reviewers post with their reviews, and that counts as personal data. You must follow privacy laws such as GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA, as well as Home Depot Canada's terms. If you're unsure, check with a lawyer. More on this: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)
**Does it access any private data?** No. Everything comes from pages homedepot.ca shows to any visitor without logging in. It never uses a login, never touches private or restricted accounts, and never reaches password-protected areas.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):
Keywords to search on homedepot.ca, e.g. "cordless drill", "paint", "led bulb". Each term is scraped separately.
## `categories` (type: `array`):
Category page URLs (e.g. https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/categories/tools/power-tools/drills.html) or category codes (e.g. category-drills, l1-tools, l1-bath). Whole departments work too.
## `startUrls` (type: `array`):
Any homedepot.ca product, search or category page (English or French). Search filters in the URL are kept.
## `productIds` (type: `array`):
Home Depot Canada product IDs (the 10-digit number at the end of a product URL, e.g. 1001686659) or product URLs. Ideal for tracking price and stock on a fixed list of products.
## `storeIds` (type: `array`):
4-digit Home Depot store numbers, e.g. 7001 (Scarborough), 7042 (Vancouver), 7128 (Montreal St-Henri). The first store is used for search results; the same products are then priced at every other store. Leave empty and use a postal code instead if you don't know the numbers.
## `nearLocation` (type: `string`):
A postal code, city or address, e.g. "M5V 2T6", "Calgary" or "H4C 1A1". Adds the nearest store(s) to the selection.
## `nearestStores` (type: `integer`):
How many stores near the location above to include (1–50).
## `provinces` (type: `array`):
Adds all Home Depot stores in the selected provinces.
## `allStores` (type: `boolean`):
Price and stock the products at every Home Depot store in Canada (182 stores). Rows = products × stores, so keep the product count modest.
## `searchEachStore` (type: `boolean`):
Off (default): search once at the first store, then check the same products at the other stores — fast and cheap. On: every store gets its own search, so each store's own assortment is listed.
## `includeStoreRows` (type: `boolean`):
Adds one row per selected store: address, phone, coordinates, distance and opening hours.
## `language` (type: `string`):
Language of product names, descriptions, specs and URLs.
## `sort` (type: `string`):
Order of search and category results.
## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):
Products to collect for each search term, category or URL (counted at the first store). 0 = everything.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
Hard cap on rows for the whole run, all stores included. 0 = no cap.
## `inStockOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Only keep products with at least one unit in stock at the store.
## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Adds description, highlights, full specifications, breadcrumbs, warranty, country of origin, package size, all images, manuals/PDFs and the top reviews. One extra request per product.
## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):
Parallel connections. The default is a good balance of speed and reliability.
## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):
Residential proxies in Canada are required for reliable results (the default).
