## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Internshala Scraper: internships, fresher jobs and stipends

Scrape **Internshala**, India's largest internship and fresher-jobs platform. Search by **category or keyword**, **city** or **work from home**, and get every posting with its **title, company, location, stipend or CTC (as text and as numbers), duration, experience, posted date, skills, categories and badges** (actively hiring, part time, fresher job, job offer after the internship). Turn on **Include full details** to also get the **start date, apply-by date, number of openings, applicants, perks, the full description, who can apply and the company's website**. No login, no cookies, no account.

### What you get

| | |
|---|---|
| **Posting** | Internshala ID, internship or job, title, URL, posted ("3 days ago" + a date), badges |
| **Company** | Name, logo; with full details: website, Internshala company page, hiring since, opportunities posted, industry, about the company |
| **Place** | Locations (one or several cities), work from home, hybrid |
| **Pay** | Stipend (internships) or CTC (jobs) exactly as shown, plus min / max as numbers, currency and period; unpaid flag; job-offer badge ("Job offer upto ₹ 5LPA post internship") |
| **Terms** | Internship duration (text + months), job experience (text + years), part time, fresher job, international |
| **Skills** | Skills required, Internshala categories |
| **Full details** (optional) | Start date or start window, apply-by date, openings, applicants, perks (certificate, letter of recommendation, flexible hours …), full description, who can apply, other requirements |

### How to use it

1. Pick **Internships**, **Jobs** or **Both**.
2. Enter one or more **keywords / categories**, e.g. `python`, `web development`, `marketing`, `data science`, `content writing`, `graphic design`. Leave empty for all postings.
3. Optionally add **cities** (`Bangalore`, `Delhi`, `Mumbai`, `Pune`, `Hyderabad`, `Gurgaon` …) or tick **Work from home only**.
4. Set **Max postings** and run.

Each keyword × city is its own search, and **Max postings** is shared fairly between them. A word that is an Internshala category (`python`, `marketing`, `langchain` …) uses the category list; any other word uses Internshala's keyword search, and the city / work-from-home choice is then checked on every posting.

#### Input examples

20 Python internships, all of India:

```json
{
  "type": "internships",
  "keywords": ["python"],
  "maxItems": 20
}
```

Paid data-science and web-development internships in Bangalore and Pune, at least ₹10,000 a month, with full details:

```json
{
  "type": "internships",
  "keywords": ["data science", "web development"],
  "cities": ["Bangalore", "Pune"],
  "minStipend": 10000,
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

Work-from-home fresher jobs in marketing:

```json
{
  "type": "jobs",
  "keywords": ["marketing"],
  "workFromHome": true,
  "fresherJobsOnly": true,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

Every internship and job in Hyderabad:

```json
{
  "type": "both",
  "cities": ["Hyderabad"],
  "maxItems": 0
}
```

You can also paste Internshala URLs into **Internshala URLs**: results pages (`internshala.com/internships/python-internship-in-pune/`, `internshala.com/jobs/work-from-home/` …) or single postings (`internshala.com/internship/detail/…`, `internshala.com/job/detail/…`; these always come with full details).

### Output example

A real row (full details on; long texts shortened):

```json
{
  "id": "3320114",
  "type": "internship",
  "title": "Software Development",
  "company": "Penguin Solutions",
  "location": "Bangalore",
  "locations": ["Bangalore"],
  "isWorkFromHome": false,
  "pay": "₹ 30,000 - 35,000 /month",
  "payMin": 30000,
  "payMax": 35000,
  "payCurrency": "INR",
  "payPeriod": "month",
  "isUnpaid": false,
  "duration": "6 Months",
  "durationMonths": 6,
  "postedText": "1 week ago",
  "postedDate": "2026-10-19",
  "startDate": "2026-12-01",
  "startDateTo": "2026-12-31",
  "applyBy": "2026-11-18",
  "openings": 5,
  "applicants": "552 applicants",
  "applicantsCount": 552,
  "skills": ["Linux", "Python"],
  "perks": ["Certificate", "5 days a week", "Free snacks & beverages"],
  "categories": ["Computer Science", "Python/Django", "Software Development", "Backend Development", "Programming", "Web Development", "Information Technology"],
  "labels": ["Actively hiring"],
  "isPartTime": false,
  "activelyHiring": true,
  "description": "Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:\n1. Support engineering and R&D initiatives through project-based assignments …",
  "whoCanApply": "Only those candidates can apply who:\n1. are available for full time (in-office) internship …",
  "aboutCompany": "At Penguin Solutions (Nasdaq: PENG) - The AI Factory Platform Company - we're building a team of innovators …",
  "companyProfileUrl": "https://internshala.com/company/penguin-solutions-1768555685",
  "companyHiringSince": "October 2026",
  "industry": "Computer Services",
  "detailsIncluded": true,
  "url": "https://internshala.com/internship/detail/software-development-internship-in-bangalore-at-penguin-solutions1792413587",
  "searchQuery": "internships for \"python\" in Bengaluru",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-29T05:12:14.299Z"
}
```

A job row has `experience` ("No experience required", "1 year(s)") and `experienceYears` instead of the duration, and the CTC per year (`"pay": "₹ 2,84,000 - 4,20,000 /year"`, `payMin` 284000, `payMax` 420000). Every row has the same columns; a value Internshala doesn't show is `null` (and the full-details columns stay empty unless **Include full details** is on).

### Pricing

Pay per event:

- **$0.38 per 1,000 postings** saved ($0.00038 each).
- **Full details**: $0.10 per 1,000 postings ($0.0001 each), only when **Include full details** is on (or for pasted posting URLs) and the posting page was read.
- **Results page**: $0.0002 per Internshala results page read (each page holds about 40–50 postings, so about $0.005 per 1,000 postings; it also covers searches that find nothing).
- **Actor start**: $0.002 per run.

So 1,000 internships cost about $0.39, or $0.49 with full details (plus $0.002 per run). Postings left out by your filters, duplicates and searches skipped because Internshala doesn't know the city are never charged as postings. Your **maximum charge per run** setting is respected: the run stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Use cases

- **Campus placement and EdTech**: track which companies hire interns and freshers, in which fields and cities, and at what stipend.
- **Stipend and salary benchmarks**: stipend ranges by category and city, CTC ranges for fresher jobs, paid vs unpaid share.
- **Job boards and newsletters**: feed new internships and fresher jobs into your own site or alerts (schedule a daily run).
- **HR-tech and lead generation**: find companies that are actively hiring interns, with their website and size of hiring.
- **Market research**: demand for skills (Python, React, data science, marketing …) across India over time.

### Tips

- Use the city names Internshala uses: **Bangalore**, **Gurgaon**, **Delhi** (Bengaluru, Gurugram and New Delhi are translated for you). A city Internshala doesn't know is skipped and not charged; the status message tells you.
- Leave **Include full details** off when the results-card data is enough: it is faster and cheaper.
- **Max postings 0** = everything that matches.
- **Minimum stipend** applies to internships; unpaid internships and stipends Internshala doesn't state are left out when it is set.

### FAQ

**Do I need an Internshala account, cookies or a login?** No. The scraper reads the same public results and posting pages any visitor sees. It never logs in, never applies, and never touches student or employer dashboards.

**Why do I get fewer postings than the count Internshala shows?** Internshala's headline count for a city or category sometimes includes postings it doesn't list on the results pages. The scraper returns every posting the results pages actually list (and that matches your filters).

**What does "Include full details" add?** The start date (or start window), apply-by date, number of openings, applicants, perks, the full skills list, the full description, who can apply, other requirements and company facts. It opens one extra page per posting.

**Which proxy should I use?** Keep the default (Apify Proxy, datacenter). It comes with every Apify plan, including the free one. If Internshala refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them.

**What happens if Internshala is down or refuses the run?** The run still finishes successfully with whatever it saved and a plain status message, and you are not charged for postings that weren't delivered.

**Is it legal to scrape Internshala?** This Actor only collects publicly available data: internship and job postings that anyone can see on Internshala without an account, such as the title, company, location, stipend and the posting text. Collecting publicly available data is generally legal, but you're responsible for how you use it. Postings describe roles, not people; the scraper removes personal e-mail addresses and phone numbers (and the name next to them) from posting texts, and leaves out personal social-media profiles given as a company website. You must follow privacy laws such as India's DPDP Act, GDPR and CCPA, as well as Internshala's terms. If you're unsure, check with a lawyer. More on this: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)

**Does it access any private data?** No. Everything comes from pages Internshala shows to any visitor without logging in. It never touches student profiles, applications, resumes or employer accounts, and it follows Internshala's robots.txt.

# Actor input Schema

## `type` (type: `string`):

Internships, fresher jobs, or both (each keyword / city is searched in both sections).

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Internshala categories or keywords, e.g. "python", "web development", "marketing", "data science", "content writing". Each one is a separate search. A word that is not an Internshala category is searched with Internshala's keyword search. Leave empty for all postings (optionally narrowed by city / work from home).

## `cities` (type: `array`):

Indian cities as Internshala writes them, e.g. "Bangalore", "Delhi", "Mumbai", "Pune", "Hyderabad", "Gurgaon", "Noida" (Bengaluru / Gurugram / New Delhi also work). Every keyword is searched in every city. Leave empty for all of India.

## `workFromHome` (type: `boolean`):

Only work-from-home (remote) internships / jobs. Cities are ignored when this is on.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of postings for the whole run, shared fairly between your searches. 0 = everything.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open each posting's page for the start date, apply-by date, number of openings, applicants, perks, the complete skills list, the full description, who can apply and the company's website (one extra page per posting, priced as "Full details"). Off = the data on Internshala's results cards.

## `minStipend` (type: `integer`):

Internships only: keep internships paying at least this much per month (unpaid and unknown stipends are left out when set).

## `partTime` (type: `boolean`):

Only postings Internshala marks as part time.

## `fresherJobsOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Jobs only: keep jobs Internshala marks as "Fresher Job" (no experience required).

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional: Internshala results pages (internshala.com/internships/python-internship-in-pune/, internshala.com/jobs/work-from-home/ …) or posting pages (internshala.com/internship/detail/… or /job/detail/…). Posting pages always come with full details.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (datacenter) is the default and comes with every Apify plan. If Internshala refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to residential proxies when your account has them.
