## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Rightmove Overseas Scraper: property for sale in Spain, Portugal, France and beyond

Scrape **Rightmove's overseas property section** — homes, villas, apartments and land for sale in Spain, Portugal, France, Cyprus and every other country Rightmove's overseas section covers — by **country, region or town**. Every listing comes with the **price in its own currency and converted to pounds** (or euros, dollars…), bedrooms, bathrooms, **size in m² and sq ft**, location with map coordinates, key features, photos, the date it was listed or reduced, and the **estate agent or developer** with their phone number. Optionally add the full description, nearest airports, floorplans, brochures and the agent's office address.

Rightmove shows at most 1,008 listings per search. This scraper **splits big searches into price bands automatically**, so you can get every one of Spain's 56,000+ listings in one run. No login, no cookies, no Rightmove account.

### What you get

| | |
|---|---|
| **Listing** | Title, property type (villa, apartment, town house, land…), listing URL, photos (full size), key features, short description |
| **Price** | Asking price and currency as listed (e.g. €289,000), plus Rightmove's conversion to your chosen currency (e.g. £246,979), price qualifier |
| **Property** | Bedrooms, bathrooms, size in m² and sq ft |
| **Location** | Region / province / town, country, country code, latitude and longitude |
| **Freshness** | First listed date, last change (new, price reduced…) and when it happened |
| **Agent** | Agent or developer name, branch, phone, logo, Rightmove agent page |
| **Property details** (optional) | Full description, price per sq ft, floor, parking, nearest airports with distance, floorplans, brochures, virtual tours, agent office address and international phone |

### How to use it

1. Enter one or more **countries, regions or towns** as Rightmove spells them: `Spain`, `Portugal`, `France`, `Cyprus`, `Costa del Sol`, `Algarve`, `Balearic Islands`, `Madeira`, `Marbella`…
2. Set **Max listings** (0 = everything) and any filters: price (in the currency you pick), bedrooms, property type, how recently it was added, sort order.
3. Run. Each place is searched separately; **Max listings** is shared fairly between them.

#### Input examples

Villas and houses on the Costa del Sol listed in the last week, €500k+, newest first:

```json
{
  "locations": ["Costa del Sol"],
  "propertyTypes": ["house"],
  "currency": "EUR",
  "minPrice": 500000,
  "addedWithin": "7",
  "sortBy": "newest",
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

Every listing in Cyprus (the run splits the search into price bands by itself):

```json
{
  "locations": ["Cyprus"],
  "maxItems": 0
}
```

Two-bedroom apartments in Portugal and Spain under £250,000 with a pool, with full details:

```json
{
  "locations": ["Portugal", "Spain"],
  "propertyTypes": ["flat"],
  "minBedrooms": 2,
  "maxBedrooms": 2,
  "maxPrice": 250000,
  "keywords": ["pool"],
  "onlyKeywordMatches": true,
  "includeDetails": true,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

You can also paste Rightmove overseas search URLs (your filters in the URL are kept) or property URLs into **Rightmove URLs**.

Every row has the same columns; a value the listing doesn't state is `null` (or an empty list). The description, airports, floorplans, brochures, office address and international phone are filled when **Include property details** is on.

### Use cases

- **Buying abroad**: compare prices per m² across regions and countries, in your own currency.
- **Market research**: track supply, price cuts and new listings in Spain, Portugal or any other market over time.
- **Agent lead lists**: find the agencies and developers most active in a region, with their phone numbers and offices.
- **Alerts**: schedule a daily run with **Added within: Last 24 hours** and **Sort by: Newest listed**.
- **Property portals and newsletters**: feed overseas listings with photos into your own site.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Rightmove account, cookies or a login?** No. The scraper reads the same public pages any visitor sees. It never logs in and needs nothing from you except a place to search.

**Which places can I search?** Any country, region or town Rightmove's overseas section knows, written the way Rightmove writes it: `Spain`, `Costa Blanca South`, `Canary Islands`, `Algarve`, `Marbella`. A name Rightmove doesn't know is skipped, not charged, and named in the run's status message. If a town name exists in several countries, open it on Rightmove and paste the search URL instead.

**How many listings can I get?** All of them. Rightmove stops each search at 1,008 listings; when a place has more and you ask for more, the run splits the search into price bands that each fit, and removes duplicates. Turn off **Split large searches** to keep only the first 1,008 per place.

**Which currency are prices in?** `price` and `currency` are the listing's own (usually euros). `convertedPrice` is Rightmove's conversion into the **Currency** you pick (pounds by default); Min/Max price use that currency too.

**What do Keywords do?** Rightmove puts listings that mention your keywords (e.g. "pool", "sea view") first, and each row's `keywordMatch` says whether it matched. Turn on **Only listings that mention the keywords** to drop the rest; dropped listings are never charged.

**How fast is it?** A results page holds 24 listings and takes about a second; 1,000 listings take about 30 seconds. **Include property details** opens every property page and adds about a second per listing.

**Which proxy should I use?** Keep the default (Apify Proxy, datacenter). It comes with every Apify plan, including the free one. If Rightmove refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to UK residential proxies when your account has them, and carries on without them when it doesn't.

**What does a run cost?** You pay per listing saved, per place searched, and a small fee per run; property details are a separate, optional charge. See the Pricing tab. Listings that are skipped or filtered out are never charged, and neither are places Rightmove doesn't recognise.

**Is it legal to scrape Rightmove?** This Actor only collects publicly available data: property listings that anyone can view on Rightmove without an account. Collecting publicly available data is generally legal, but you're responsible for how you use it. Results include estate agents' and developers' business names and phone numbers; descriptions can occasionally mention a person, so the scraper removes personal e-mail addresses and phone numbers from description text. You must follow privacy laws such as GDPR, PIPEDA and CCPA, as well as Rightmove's terms. If you're unsure, check with a lawyer. More on this: [Is web scraping legal?](https://blog.apify.com/is-web-scraping-legal/)

**Does it access any private data?** No. Everything comes from pages Rightmove shows to any visitor without logging in. It never uses a login, never touches saved searches, accounts or contact forms, and follows Rightmove's robots.txt.

This Actor is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Rightmove.

# Actor input Schema

## `locations` (type: `array`):

Where to search, as Rightmove spells it: a country ("Spain", "Portugal", "France", "Cyprus"), a region ("Costa del Sol", "Algarve", "Balearic Islands", "Canary Islands") or a town ("Marbella"). Each place is searched separately. A name Rightmove doesn't know is skipped (and not charged).

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of listings for the whole run, shared fairly between your places (a place with fewer listings leaves its share to the others). 0 = everything.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open every property page for the full description, floor area in m² and sq ft, nearest airports, floorplans, brochures, virtual tours and the agent's office address and international phone number. Adds about a second per listing and is charged per listing.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional: Rightmove overseas search URLs (filters in the URL are kept — useful for a town Rightmove gives an id, like …/Los-Altos-225842.html) or property URLs (rightmove.co.uk/properties/123456789).

## `minPrice` (type: `integer`):

In the currency below.

## `maxPrice` (type: `integer`):

In the currency below.

## `currency` (type: `string`):

The currency of Min/Max price and of the converted price in each row (the listing's own price and currency are always included too).

## `minBedrooms` (type: `integer`):

0 = studio.

## `maxBedrooms` (type: `integer`):

Only listings with at most this many bedrooms. Leave empty for no limit.

## `propertyTypes` (type: `array`):

Empty = all. Houses include villas, town houses and country houses; flats include apartments and penthouses; land includes plots.

## `addedWithin` (type: `string`):

Only listings added to Rightmove in the last 1, 3, 7 or 14 days. "any" = no limit.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of the results.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Words such as "pool", "sea view" or "golf". Rightmove shows listings that mention them first; each row says whether it matched (keywordMatch).

## `onlyKeywordMatches` (type: `boolean`):

Drop listings that don't mention your keywords (they're never charged).

## `splitLargeSearches` (type: `boolean`):

Rightmove shows at most 1,008 listings per search. When a place has more and you asked for more, the search is split into price bands so you get all of them (duplicates removed).

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy (datacenter) is the default and comes with every Apify plan. If Rightmove refuses datacenter IPs for a while, the run switches to UK residential proxies when your account has them.
