## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Israel Open Data Scraper (data.gov.il API) – Vehicle Registry, Companies Registrar, Contractors & 1,000+ Government Datasets

Export any table from **data.gov.il**, Israel's official government open-data portal, as JSON, CSV or Excel. No API code, no Hebrew CKAN docs. Popular registries are one click away, and Hebrew is fully supported (מאגרי מידע ממשלתיים).

**Pricing:** $0.50 per 1,000 rows. A single lookup costs a fraction of a cent.

### What data can I get?

| Preset | Source |
|---|---|
| `vehicles` | Ministry of Transport: private & commercial vehicle registry (רכב פרטי ומסחרי) |
| `companies` | Israeli Corporations Authority: Registrar of Companies (רשם החברות) |
| `contractors` | Registered contractors (פנקס הקבלנים) |
| `asbestos` | Licensed asbestos contractors |
| *any table* | Paste any data.gov.il DataStore **Resource ID** |

Not sure which table you need? Run **mode = searchDatasets** with a keyword (Hebrew or English) to get dataset titles, publishers, licences and Resource IDs.

### Use cases

- **Israeli license plate lookup / vehicle data enrichment**: make, model, year, fuel, colour, last test date
- **KYB & lead generation**: Israeli company number, name, status, type, address
- **Construction leads**: contractors by classification and region
- **Data analysts & journalists**: schedule full government dataset downloads into Sheets, BigQuery or webhooks
- **AI agents / RAG**: feed structured Israeli public-sector data into LLM workflows via the Apify API or MCP

### Input examples

Plate lookup:

```json
{
  "preset": "vehicles",
  "filters": {
    "mispar_rechev": 2235178
  },
  "maxItems": 1
}
```

Company search by name:

```json
{
  "preset": "companies",
  "searchText": "טבע",
  "maxItems": 500
}
```

Find datasets about schools:

```json
{
  "mode": "searchDatasets",
  "searchText": "בתי ספר",
  "maxItems": 20
}
```

Any table:

```json
{
  "resourceId": "<uuid>",
  "maxItems": 10000
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `mode` | `records` (default) or `searchDatasets` |
| `preset` | Pre-wired table (ignored if `resourceId` is set) |
| `resourceId` | UUID of any data.gov.il DataStore resource |
| `searchText` | Full-text match across all columns, or catalog keywords |
| `filters` | Exact match per column (column names as in source, often Hebrew) |
| `maxItems` | Hard cap on rows (default 100) |

### Output example

Each row keeps the original column names and adds `_resourceId` and `_row`:

```json
{
  "mispar_rechev": 2235178,
  "tozeret_nm": "טויוטה יפן",
  "kinuy_mishari": "COROLLA",
  "shnat_yitzur": 2017,
  "sug_delek_nm": "בנזין",
  "tokef_dt": "2026-11-20",
  "_resourceId": "053cea08-09bc-40ec-8f7a-156f0677aff3",
  "_row": 1
}
```

Catalog mode returns `title`, `organization`, `license`, `modified` and `resources` (id, format, queryable). Download as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML from the Apify dataset tab or API.

### FAQ

**Is it legal to use this data commercially?** Yes. data.gov.il datasets are published under the portal's open licence, which lets you copy, distribute, modify and use the data commercially and non-commercially, worldwide and royalty-free. You must credit the source (e.g. "Source: data.gov.il, <publishing ministry>"). A licence attached to a specific dataset overrides the general one, so check the `license` field in catalog mode. See https://data.gov.il/terms-of-use.

**Does it scrape web pages?** No. It calls the portal's official CKAN API at a polite rate (300 ms between pages) and never logs in.

**Column names are in Hebrew/transliterated. Why?** They're kept exactly as the government publishes them so filters work 1:1 with the source.

**How fresh is the data?** As fresh as the publishing ministry's update. The vehicle registry is updated roughly daily, other tables vary. Check `modified` in catalog mode.

**Is there personal data?** Some registries list business owners' names and addresses as published by the government. You're responsible for complying with the Israeli Privacy Protection Law and GDPR.

**Can I schedule it?** Yes. Use Apify Schedules, plus integrations (Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, webhooks).

### How to use

1. Click **Try for free** (or **Start**) — the form is pre-filled with a small working example.
2. Adjust the filters and **Max results**, then run. Most runs finish in under a minute.
3. Open the **Output** tab to view the table, or export CSV, Excel or JSON, or pull it via the API, Zapier, Make, Google Sheets or webhooks.

### Pricing

Pay per result: **$0.50 per 1,000 rows ($0.0005 per row), plus a tiny per-run start fee**. A single plate or company lookup costs a fraction of a cent; 10,000 rows cost about $5. You only pay for rows you receive; a run that finds nothing costs almost nothing. Set **Max results** or a maximum cost per run to cap spend — the actor stops cleanly at the limit.

### Data source & disclaimer

- **Source:** [data.gov.il](https://data.gov.il), the Israeli Government Open Data portal (National Digital Agency), via its official CKAN API.
- **How fresh:** depends on the dataset: some tables update daily (for example vehicle registry), others monthly or less; see each dataset's page. Each row has `scrapedAt` (when this run fetched it), `_sourceUpdatedAt` (when the source table was last modified) and, in catalog mode, `modified`.
- **Licence & attribution:** Licensed under the [data.gov.il licence](https://data.gov.il/terms-of-use): commercial use allowed, **source attribution required** ("Source: data.gov.il, Israeli Government Open Data"). A dataset's own licence, when attached, takes precedence (see the `license` field in catalog mode). The licence forbids misleading presentation and uses that harm privacy, including cross-matching with other sources to identify people.
- **Disclaimer:** Data is provided **as is** from public records, without warranty of any kind. Records can contain errors, omissions or delays from the source or from processing, so check anything important against the official source. This actor and its output are **not legal, financial, compliance or medical advice**. You are responsible for using the data lawfully: Israeli Privacy Protection Law, GDPR where relevant, and the data.gov.il licence terms above. This actor is independent and **not affiliated with or endorsed by** the Government of Israel or the National Digital Agency.
