## Pricing

from $0.48 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store & Google Play Reviews Scraper & Analyzer: bugs, requests and stars by version

Get an **app's reviews from the App Store and Google Play** in **any country**, without login: **stars, title, text, date, app version, helpful votes** and the **developer's reply**, plus each store's **rating, ratings count and installs**. Search by app name or paste store links.

Turn on the **insights report** and each app gets a **review report**: the **bugs** users hit, the **features they ask for**, their **complaints** and **praise**, the **themes** with counts, the **stars split**, **average stars by app version** and **reviews per month**. Built for **product managers, ASO and app marketing teams, agencies and competitor research**.

### What you get

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Review rows | `rating`, `title`, `text`, `date`, `appVersion`, `helpful`, `reply`, `replyDate`, `author`, `store`, `appName`, `country`, `id` |
| App rows | per store: `name`, `developer`, `rating`, `ratings`, `installs` (Google Play), `price`, `version`, `category`, `released`, `updated`, `url` |
| Insights row (optional) | `summary`, `bugs`, `requests`, `complaints`, `praise`, `questions` (each with example reviews), `themes` with counts, `sentiment`, `kinds`, `averageStars`, `starsSplit`, `starsByVersion`, `reviewsPerMonth` |
| SUMMARY | what each app returned, notes and what was charged |

### What people use it for

- **Product roadmap:** the features users ask for most
- **Bug triage:** what breaks, in which version
- **Release checks:** stars by version after each update
- **Competitor research:** what users love and hate in rival apps
- **ASO:** the words users use about your app
- **Agency reporting:** a review report per client app

### How to use it

1. Add **apps**: names or App Store / Google Play links.
2. Pick the **store**, the **country** and how many **reviews per store**.
3. Keep **Insights report** on, click **Start**, then open the **Reviews** or **Insights** table.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Apps | an app name, or a store link | One per line; a link picks its own store |
| Store | both | Or only the App Store or Google Play |
| Country | `US` | Any two-letter store country |
| Reviews per store | `200` | Up to 5,000 (Google Play) |
| Insights report | on | One report per app |

### Output

Each result is one row in the run's dataset (download it as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read it through the API). An example row (values shortened):

```json
{
  "kind": "review",
  "store": "apple",
  "appName": "Example app",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": "Experience so far",
  "text": "So most importantly if you have a child who doesn't want to study or has disabilities, obviously it's not guaranteed to work but my kid does it and i haven't ha…",
  "date": "2026-06-08T14:19:22.000Z",
  "author": "example.user"
}
```

With insights on, each app also gets one `insights` row. From a run on 17 October 2026 (150 Google Play reviews of a language-learning app, names removed): average 4.39 stars (105 five-star, 11 one-star); 20 complaints, 3 bugs, 2 requests, 120 praise; bugs "Completing event lessons causes app restarts and lost rewards" and "Correct answers graded as wrong"; complaints "aggressive streak notifications" and "intrusive ads and energy limits"; version 6.101.2 averaged 4.52 stars over 103 reviews. A record named `SUMMARY` in the run's key-value store says what each app returned and what was charged.

### Pricing

- **$0.0006 per review** ($0.60 per 1,000)
- **$0.05 per insights report** (one per app, only when asked for; failed reports are free)
- App rows are free; apps that are not found cost nothing
- The AI model that writes the report (Google's Gemini Flash) is billed by Apify at its exact cost: about $0.01 a report on 60 to 150 reviews (measured 17 October 2026), more for more reviews; Apify charges free-plan accounts 10 times that

What typical jobs cost at the list price:

| Job | Cost |
|---|---|
| 200 reviews from one store | $0.12 |
| 200 reviews per store from both stores, with the report | $0.29 |
| 10 competitor apps, 200 reviews each, with reports | $1.70 |
| 1,000 Google Play reviews | $0.60 |

On Apify's Scale and Business plans the per-event prices are lower (Store discounts). Set **Maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached: you never pay more than that.

### Tips

- Run it after every release and compare `starsByVersion`.
- Put your app and three competitors in one run: four reports side by side.
- Sort Google Play by rating to read the 1-star reviews first.

### Use it through the API

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("zaiq/app-reviews-analyzer").call(run_input={"apps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wikipedia"], "maxReviewsPerStore": 300})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

**JavaScript**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('zaiq/app-reviews-analyzer').call({"apps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wikipedia"], "maxReviewsPerStore": 300});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**HTTP (one call, results back)**

```bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/zaiq~app-reviews-analyzer/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"apps": ["https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wikipedia"], "maxReviewsPerStore": 300}'
```

### Integrations and schedules

- **Schedules:** run it every hour, day or week from the Apify Console (Schedules) and keep a history of results.
- **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable:** connect it through Apify's integrations, or send each finished run to a **webhook**.
- **Datasets:** results stay in the run's dataset; export them or read them by API whenever you need them.

### Use it with AI agents (MCP)

Add Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`) to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. The agent can find this Actor and run it for you: ask it for "what bugs do users report in the latest version of this app, from its App Store and Google Play reviews". AI agents can also pay for runs directly through Apify's agentic payments.

### Limits

- Apple's public review feed came back empty for some apps and countries on 17 October 2026; the Actor then reads the reviews the App Store page itself shows (about 10 to 20, most helpful first, without app versions) and says so in the run's notes.
- Google Play: up to 5,000 reviews per app, in the language you pick.
- The report's counts come from the AI's label for each review: close, not perfect.
- Public data only: you are responsible for how you use it under the stores' terms and the privacy laws that apply to you.

### FAQ

**Do I need an Apple or Google account?**

No. Everything comes from what the stores show a signed-out visitor.

**Which countries?**

Any App Store or Google Play country, one per run (run again for another).

**How are bugs found?**

Every review is labelled as a bug, complaint, request, praise or question, and the report lists the main points of each with example reviews.

**Can I skip the report?**

Yes: turn Insights report off and pay only per review.
