## Pricing

from $1,592.00 / 1,000 day plans

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Day Planner: one perfect day anywhere, hour by hour

A free Saturday, a layover or one day in a new city. Enter where, the date, when you start and finish, where you start from and the kind of day. It picks the best sights for that style, orders them sensibly, checks each against its opening hours for that weekday and real travel times, and puts lunch and dinner nearby.

You get a page for your phone, a PDF, a calendar event, official entry fees where the attraction publishes them, experiences you can book and a short budget.

### What you get

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Hour by hour | Times, travel between stops, opening hours checked. |
| Meals | Lunch and dinner close to the day's stops. |
| Fees and experiences | Entry prices from official pages; tours to book. |
| Files | Page, PDF, calendar event and data. |

### What people use it for

- **City breaks:** The best of one day in a new city.
- **Layovers:** A day between flights, start and end times respected.
- **Locals:** A fresh Saturday at home.

### How to use it

1. Enter the destination, the date and your hours.
2. Add where you start, who is going and the style.
3. Run it: the day, hour by hour.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Where? | Lisbon, Portugal | City or region with its country. |
| Date, start, end | 2027-03-16, 09:00, 21:00 | The day and its hours. |
| Starting from | Baixa, Lisbon | Your hotel or address (optional). |
| Trip style | culture, food and wine | The kind of day. |

### Output

Each result is one row in the run's dataset (download it as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read it through the API). An example row (values shortened):

```json
{
  "kind": "day-plan",
  "destination": "Lisbon, Portugal",
  "stops": 7,
  "status": "validated",
  "tripUrl": "https://example.com/trip.html",
  "pdfUrl": "https://example.com/trip.pdf"
}
```

Example from a real Lisbon run on 19 October 2026 (a market, the botanical garden, lunch, the castle, a sunset viewpoint and dinner; 104 requests).

### Pricing

- **$1.99 per validated day plan**, charged once the page, PDF, calendar and data are delivered.
- Model use is billed by Apify at cost on top (about $0.27 in tests).

What typical jobs cost at the list price:

| Job | Cost |
|---|---|
| One day | $1.99 plus about $0.27 of model use |
| Failed validation | $0 |

On Apify's Scale and Business plans the per-event prices are lower (Store discounts). Set **Maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached: you never pay more than that.

### Tips

- Walk is the default; choose taxi or car for spread-out cities.
- Name must-sees to anchor the day.

### Use it through the API

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("zaiq/day-planner").call(run_input={"destination": "Cape Town, South Africa", "date": "2026-12-14", "startTime": "09:00", "endTime": "19:30", "tripStyles": ["family"], "childrenAges": [7, 10], "transport": "car", "currency": "ZAR"})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

**JavaScript**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('zaiq/day-planner').call({"destination": "Cape Town, South Africa", "date": "2026-12-14", "startTime": "09:00", "endTime": "19:30", "tripStyles": ["family"], "childrenAges": [7, 10], "transport": "car", "currency": "ZAR"});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**HTTP (one call, results back)**

```bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/zaiq~day-planner/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"destination": "Cape Town, South Africa", "date": "2026-12-14", "startTime": "09:00", "endTime": "19:30", "tripStyles": ["family"], "childrenAges": [7, 10], "transport": "car", "currency": "ZAR"}'
```

### Integrations and schedules

- **Schedules:** run it every hour, day or week from the Apify Console (Schedules) and keep a history of results.
- **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable:** connect it through Apify's integrations, or send each finished run to a **webhook**.
- **Datasets:** results stay in the run's dataset; export them or read them by API whenever you need them.

### Use it with AI agents (MCP)

Add Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`) to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. The agent can find this Actor and run it for you: ask it for "Plan a day in Lisbon on Tuesday from 9 to 9 for food and culture, starting in Baixa". AI agents can also pay for runs directly through Apify's agentic payments.

### Limits

- No login, CAPTCHA solving or forged challenge tokens; a source can withhold public data, and the run says so.
- Prices are public snapshots for your dates and party, not held reservations; check again before booking.
- Holiday opening hours can differ; public holidays are flagged.

### FAQ

**Why not the Itinerary Planner?**

For one day this is quicker and cheaper; the Itinerary Planner plans whole trips.
