## Pricing

from $4,792.00 / 1,000 itineraries

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Itinerary Planner: your days planned around the stay you booked

Already booked your stay? Enter the destination, your dates, the address, who is going and the kind of trip. It finds the destination's must-sees and the best places for your style on Google Maps, checks each against its opening hours for the day it is planned and real drive times from your stay, and plans every day: the sights in a sensible order, lunch and dinner nearby, rests when children travel, nights out for a nightlife trip and an adventure on calm mornings for adrenaline.

A demanding code check fixes what planners miss (no lunch, two dinners, a must-see on a closed day, idle hours), the model revises its own draft against those gaps, and an editor reviews the result. You get a trip page for your phone, a PDF, a calendar file, experiences to book with prices, official entry fees where the attraction publishes them, a packing list and a budget.

### What you get

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Day by day | Times, drives, opening hours checked, tips from reviews. |
| Meals | Lunch and dinner near the day's stops, casual places for children. |
| Experiences to book | Tours and activities for your style with prices. |
| Entry fees | From the attractions' own pages, added up for your party. |
| Files | Trip page, PDF, calendar (.ics) and the plan as data. |

### What people use it for

- **Booked travellers:** Turn a booked stay into a full plan in minutes.
- **Families:** Child-friendly days with rests and casual meals.
- **Travel agents:** A sourced itinerary for a client, as a PDF.

### How to use it

1. Enter the destination, dates and your stay's address.
2. Add who is going, the style, pace, must-sees and food needs.
3. Run it: every day planned, with the files.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Where? | Cape Town, South Africa | City or region with its country. |
| Arrive / Leave | 2026-12-12 / 2026-12-17 | 1 to 14 nights. |
| Where you are staying | Gardens, Cape Town | Times and drives start here. |
| Trip style, pace | family, beach; relaxed | Changes what is planned and when. |
| Spending money | 15000 ZAR | Fees, meals, experiences; not the stay. |

### Output

Each result is one row in the run's dataset (download it as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read it through the API). An example row (values shortened):

```json
{
  "kind": "itinerary",
  "destination": "Cape Town, South Africa",
  "days": 6,
  "stops": 24,
  "status": "validated",
  "tripUrl": "https://example.com/trip.html",
  "pdfUrl": "https://example.com/trip.pdf",
  "calendarUrl": "https://example.com/trip.ics"
}
```

Example from a real Cape Town family run on 19 October 2026 (six days, 24 stops, entry fees from the official sites, no gaps left after revision). SUMMARY records each source, the planner's revisions and the model use.

### Pricing

- **$5.99 per validated itinerary**, charged once the page, PDF, calendar and data are delivered and the plan passes its checks.
- Model use is billed by Apify at cost on top (about $0.55 for a six-day plan in tests).

What typical jobs cost at the list price:

| Job | Cost |
|---|---|
| Six days | $5.99 plus about $0.55 of model use |
| Failed validation | $0 itinerary event |

On Apify's Scale and Business plans the per-event prices are lower (Store discounts). Set **Maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached: you never pay more than that.

### Tips

- Give the stay's address or hotel name: drives start from there.
- Turn on Kitchen at the stay if you will breakfast at home.

### Use it through the API

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("zaiq/itinerary-planner").call(run_input={"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "checkIn": "2027-03-15", "checkOut": "2027-03-20", "stayAddress": "Chiado, Lisbon", "tripStyles": ["culture", "food-and-wine"], "transport": "walk", "currency": "EUR", "budget": 600})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

**JavaScript**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('zaiq/itinerary-planner').call({"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "checkIn": "2027-03-15", "checkOut": "2027-03-20", "stayAddress": "Chiado, Lisbon", "tripStyles": ["culture", "food-and-wine"], "transport": "walk", "currency": "EUR", "budget": 600});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**HTTP (one call, results back)**

```bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/zaiq~itinerary-planner/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "checkIn": "2027-03-15", "checkOut": "2027-03-20", "stayAddress": "Chiado, Lisbon", "tripStyles": ["culture", "food-and-wine"], "transport": "walk", "currency": "EUR", "budget": 600}'
```

### Integrations and schedules

- **Schedules:** run it every hour, day or week from the Apify Console (Schedules) and keep a history of results.
- **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable:** connect it through Apify's integrations, or send each finished run to a **webhook**.
- **Datasets:** results stay in the run's dataset; export them or read them by API whenever you need them.

### Use it with AI agents (MCP)

Add Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`) to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. The agent can find this Actor and run it for you: ask it for "Plan five days in Cape Town for a family staying in Gardens, with beaches and the penguins". AI agents can also pay for runs directly through Apify's agentic payments.

### Limits

- No login, CAPTCHA solving or forged challenge tokens; a source can withhold public data, and the run says so.
- Prices are public snapshots for your dates and party, not held reservations; check again before booking.
- Holiday opening hours can differ from ordinary hours; the page flags public holidays.
- Drive times are estimates without traffic.

### FAQ

**How is it different from the Holiday Planner?**

It plans the days only, from a stay you have; the Holiday Planner also finds and compares the stay.

**Can it invent places?**

No. Every stop is a Google Maps listing checked for that day's hours.
