## Pricing

from $3.20 / 1,000 products

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Ocado Scraper: Products, Prices, Offers & Stock

Get products and prices from Ocado (ocado.com) as structured data: price, was price, unit price, multi-buy and
price-cut offers (with end dates when you ask for details), stock, ratings, sponsored placements, category and
image. Search ocado.com, read whole categories or every product on offer, or look up products by URL.

The Actor reads the same product data the Ocado website loads for any visitor, through home (residential)
internet connections in Great Britain. It does not log in and needs no account.

### What it does

- **Search** ocado.com for any words; products come in Ocado's order, sponsored ones included and marked.
- **Categories**: give a category page (or its ID) and every product in it is read, 500 at a time. Very large
  categories are read sub-category by sub-category so they finish in one go.
- **Every product on offer**: Ocado's Offers page, read category by category.
- **Product lookups**: product page URLs or product numbers, each with its offer terms and description.
- **Offer details**: switch on details to add each offer's end date (Ocado states it only on the product's own
  page, for example "Order by 06/10/2026") and the product description.
- **One clean row per product**: a product found by two inputs is written and charged once.
- **Unit prices** normalised to a number and a unit (for example 1.06 per l), and pack sizes normalised to grams,
  millilitres or items.
- **Run summary** in the key-value store (`RUN-SUMMARY`): what each input found, why the run stopped, the UK
  connections used and the traffic.

Ocado answers each address only a few times in a row, so the Actor spreads its requests over many UK home
connections and uses Ocado's largest page sizes. You do not need to do anything about it.

### Who uses it

- **Price comparison and grocery apps** that need Ocado prices, unit prices and offers every day.
- **Brands and suppliers** tracking their products' price, multi-buys and sponsored placement on Ocado.
- **Analysts** measuring offer depth and how many products in a category are on promotion.

### Example

Runs on 4 October 2026, through UK home connections:

| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| Food Cupboard category (8,346 products listed), maximum 3,000 | 3,000 products in 27 seconds (8 requests), read through its 11 sub-categories. |
| Every product on offer, maximum 1,500 | 1,500 products in 15 seconds, read by Ocado's 22 top-level categories. |
| Three searches (milk, bread, chocolate), maximum 700 | 700 products in 14 seconds. |
| 14 product URLs | 14 products in 6 seconds, each with its description. |
| Every product on offer with details, maximum 150 | 150 products in 78 seconds; 147 with the offer's end date from the product page, 148 with a description. |

### Input

```json
{
  "searchTerms": ["ocado semi skimmed milk"],
  "categoryUrls": ["https://www.ocado.com/categories/fresh-chilled-food/dairy-eggs/milk/979b9d1b-1015-417b-89d3-91fdaff00f72"],
  "productUrls": ["https://www.ocado.com/products/ocado-british-semi-skimmed-milk-4-pints/78914011"],
  "allOffers": false,
  "offersOnly": false,
  "includeDetails": false,
  "maxItems": 100
}
```

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | Words to search for on ocado.com. |
| `categoryUrls` | Category pages (`/categories/.../<id>`) or the category ID at the end of the address. |
| `productUrls` | Product page URLs or product numbers such as `78914011`. Up to 5,000. |
| `allOffers` | Read every product on Ocado's Offers page. |
| `offersOnly` | Keep only products on offer (Ocado's own offer filter is applied to searches and categories). |
| `includeDetails` | Read each listed product's page too, for its offer end date and description. One extra request per product, so slower; the price per product is the same. |
| `maxItems` | Stop after this many products (default 100; 0 means no limit). |
| `proxyConfiguration` | UK home connections (Apify Proxy, RESIDENTIAL, GB) by default. Ocado refuses addresses outside the UK. |
| `maxConcurrency` | Inputs worked on at once (default 4). |

### Output

One row per product. A row from the search above, with details on:

```
- For a price cut ("Now £1.50, was £2.20") `price` is the offer price and `wasPrice` the earlier price. For a
  multi-buy ("Buy any 2 for £4") `price` stays the single price and the offer is in `promotions` with
  `requiredQuantity` 2.
- `offerEndDate` is filled when details are on (or for product URLs), from the offer terms on the product page.
- `sponsored` is true for paid placements Ocado shows at the top of a search or category.
- Ocado does not publish barcodes, so `gtin` is empty.
- The same fields are used by our other UK grocery scrapers (Waitrose, ALDI UK, Lidl GB), so their data can be
  joined.
### Use it from code, automations and AI agents
- **API**: run it and get the results in one call: `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/zaiq~ocado-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_TOKEN` with the input as JSON. The API tab on this page has ready-made Python, JavaScript and cURL examples.
- **Python** (`pip install apify-client`):
```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient

client = ApifyClient("YOUR_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("zaiq/ocado-scraper").call(run_input={'searchTerms': ['milk'], 'maxItems': 20})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item)
```
- **No code**: connect it to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or n8n from the Integrations tab, schedule runs in Apify Console, and get a webhook when a run finishes.
- **AI agents (MCP)**: add it as a tool to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client through Apify's MCP server: `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=zaiq/ocado-scraper`.
### Pricing
**$4.00 per 1,000 products** (event `product-scraped`, $0.004 per product row). Apify platform usage is included.
You pay only for product rows with a price. Searches that find nothing, failed or blocked requests, products not
found, products found again by a second input and products without a price cost nothing. Details cost nothing
extra. Examples: the 20-product test input costs $0.08; 3,000 products from one category cost $12.
### Limits
- Prices are Ocado's online prices for a shopper without a delivery address (England and Wales region).
- Ocado lists the products it can deliver; in our tests every listed product was available, so out-of-stock rows
  are rare. `availability` comes from Ocado's own `available` flag.
- With details on, or for product URLs, each product needs its own request: expect about 70 to 130 products a
  minute (84 to 133 in our tests) instead of thousands.
- The Actor reads what the website shows; if Ocado changes its site, the Actor needs an update (failed inputs are
  free and listed in the run summary).
### FAQ
**Does it need an Ocado account?** No. It reads public product data without logging in.
**Why UK home connections?** Ocado refuses addresses outside the UK. Each connection is checked to be in Great
Britain by two IP-location services before it is used.
**How do I get offer end dates?** Switch on details. Ocado shows the date only on each product's page.
**Is it legal?** The Actor reads data the website shows to any visitor. Check Ocado's terms and the law that applies
to your use before you use the data.
This Actor is not affiliated with Ocado.
# Actor input Schema
## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):
Words to search for on ocado.com, for example milk or oat drink. Products come in the order Ocado shows them, sponsored ones included and marked.
## `categoryUrls` (type: `array`):
Ocado category pages such as https://www.ocado.com/categories/fresh-chilled-food/dairy-eggs/milk/979b9d1b-1015-417b-89d3-91fdaff00f72, or the category ID at the end of that address. Every product in the category is read.
## `productUrls` (type: `array`):
Product pages such as https://www.ocado.com/products/ocado-british-semi-skimmed-milk-4-pints/78914011, or the number at the end (78914011). Up to 5,000. Each comes with offer end dates and a description.
## `allOffers` (type: `boolean`):
Read Ocado's Offers page: every product with a promotion. Set a maximum below; there are thousands.
## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):
The run stops after writing this many products. 0 means no limit. Each product is written and charged once, even when several inputs find it.
## `offersOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Keep only products with a promotion, a lower price than before, or a member price. Products left out are not charged.
## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Read each listed product's own page as well, for its offer end date (Ocado shows it only there) and description. One extra request per product, so slower; the price per product is the same.
