## Pricing

from $392.00 / 1,000 experiences searches

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Things To Do: bookable experiences and the best places, by trip style

Enter where and when, who is going and the kind of trip: family, adrenaline, nightlife, food and wine, culture, nature, romantic and more. It returns bookable experiences from Airbnb Experiences and Viator (tours, shark diving, paragliding, wine tours, pub crawls, boat trips) with from-prices, ratings, review counts and links, ranked by rating and reviews within each style.

It also returns the top-rated places to visit for those styles from Google Maps (beaches, viewpoints, gardens, museums) with ratings, review counts and opening hours, so free and walk-in sights sit next to the ones you book.

### What you get

| Field | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Bookable experiences | Title, style tags, from-price and basis, rating, reviews, duration, source and booking link. |
| Places to visit | Top-rated sights for your styles with hours, rating and reviews. |
| By style | The best few for each style you chose (byStyle in SUMMARY). |
| Dated where possible | Airbnb Experiences are searched for your dates. |

### What people use it for

- **Travellers:** What is worth doing, and booking, for your kind of trip.
- **Travel content:** Ranked activity lists for a city with prices and ratings.
- **Trip-planning apps:** Experiences by style through the API.

### How to use it

1. Enter the destination, dates, who is going and one or more trip styles.
2. Run it: experiences ranked by rating and reviews within each style, plus the places to visit.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Where? | Cape Town, South Africa | City or region with its country. |
| From / To | 2026-12-12 / 2026-12-17 | At most 60 days. |
| Trip style | family, adrenaline | Ranks within each style. |
| Places to visit too | on | Top-rated Google Maps sights for the styles. |
| Most results | 30 | 1 to 100 of each. |

### Output

Each result is one row in the run's dataset (download it as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read it through the API). An example row (values shortened):

```json
{
  "kind": "experience",
  "rank": 1,
  "title": "Example penguin colony and cape day tour",
  "styleTags": [
    "family",
    "nature"
  ],
  "priceFrom": 810.0,
  "currency": "ZAR",
  "priceBasis": "per person",
  "rating": 4.9,
  "reviewCount": 3814,
  "source": "Viator",
  "url": "https://example.com/tour"
}
```

Example row from a real Cape Town search on 19 October 2026 (30 experiences, 30 places, 34 requests); the title and link were replaced. SUMMARY records each source, its search link and what it returned.

### Pricing

- **$0.49 per completed search**, experiences and places together.
- A search that returns nothing is free.

What typical jobs cost at the list price:

| Job | Cost |
|---|---|
| One destination | $0.49 |
| Five cities | $2.45 |
| Nothing found | $0 |

On Apify's Scale and Business plans the per-event prices are lower (Store discounts). Set **Maximum cost per run** and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached: you never pay more than that.

### Tips

- Pick one to three styles; each adds its own searches.
- From-prices are per person unless the row says otherwise.

### Use it through the API

**Python**

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("zaiq/things-to-do").call(run_input={"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "startDate": "2027-03-15", "endDate": "2027-03-20", "tripStyles": ["food-and-wine", "culture"], "currency": "EUR"})
for row in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(row)
```

**JavaScript**

```js
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('zaiq/things-to-do').call({"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "startDate": "2027-03-15", "endDate": "2027-03-20", "tripStyles": ["food-and-wine", "culture"], "currency": "EUR"});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
```

**HTTP (one call, results back)**

```bash
curl -X POST 'https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/zaiq~things-to-do/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"destination": "Lisbon, Portugal", "startDate": "2027-03-15", "endDate": "2027-03-20", "tripStyles": ["food-and-wine", "culture"], "currency": "EUR"}'
```

### Integrations and schedules

- **Schedules:** run it every hour, day or week from the Apify Console (Schedules) and keep a history of results.
- **Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable:** connect it through Apify's integrations, or send each finished run to a **webhook**.
- **Datasets:** results stay in the run's dataset; export them or read them by API whenever you need them.

### Use it with AI agents (MCP)

Add Apify's MCP server (`https://mcp.apify.com`) to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client. The agent can find this Actor and run it for you: ask it for "What adrenaline activities can two of us book in Cape Town next month, with prices?". AI agents can also pay for runs directly through Apify's agentic payments.

### Limits

- No login, CAPTCHA solving or forged challenge tokens; a source can withhold public data, and the run says so.
- Prices are public snapshots for your dates and party, not held reservations; check again before booking.
- Viator from-prices are general, not for your dates; Airbnb date labels are listing availability, not reserved slots.
- Age rules and meeting points are on each booking page.

### FAQ

**Does it book?**

No. Each row links to its booking page.

**Why both experiences and places?**

The best things to do include free sights; they come from Google Maps with opening hours.
