## Pricing

from $1.49 / 1,000 patent rows

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Patents Scraper - Patent Search, Inventors & Dates

**Search Google Patents in bulk and get structured rows instead of a results page.** Publication number, inventor, assignee and the full date chain - priority, filing, grant and publication - for every hit, across as many queries as you need.

> ⭐ bulk patent queries · inventor & assignee · priority/filing/grant dates · deep pagination · pay per row delivered · CSV/JSON/Excel · API, MCP & schedules

### What data does it extract?

One row per patent, with the `query`, `page` and `type` it came from so multi-query exports stay
separable. Fields Google does not return for an item are simply absent, and any new field Google
adds is passed through automatically.

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `title` | Patent title |
| `snippet` | Abstract extract Google shows |
| `link` | Google Patents URL |
| `publicationNumber` | Publication number, e.g. `KR101786497B1` |
| `inventor` | Inventor name |
| `assignee` | Assignee or owner |
| `priorityDate` | Priority date |
| `filingDate` | Filing date |
| `grantDate` | Grant date, where granted |
| `publicationDate` | Publication date |
| `position` | Rank within the page |
| `query` | The query this row came from |
| `page` | Which results page it came from |

#### Example output

```json
{
  "query": "coffee machine",
  "page": 1,
  "type": "organic",
  "title": "Brewed beverage appliance and method",
  "snippet": "delete delete delete Providing a coffee machine comprising an extractor, a grinder, and an extractor carrier; Inserti...",
  "link": "https://patents.google.com/patent/KR101786497B1/en",
  "priorityDate": "2011-09-13",
  "filingDate": "2012-06-26",
  "grantDate": "2017-10-18",
  "publicationDate": "2017-10-18",
  "inventor": "질 프랜시스 크로이처 오렌트",
  "assignee": "콘에어 코포레이션"
}
```

### How to use it

1. Paste your queries into **`queries`** - one per line.
2. Set the options you need from the table below.
3. Run it, then download the dataset as **CSV, Excel, JSON, JSONL or XML** - or read it straight from
   the Apify API.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "queries": [
    "coffee machine",
    "solar panel mounting"
  ],
  "maxPages": 5
}
```

| Option | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `queries` | array | **Required.** Search queries, one per line. |
| `gl` | string | Country code - `us`, `in`, `gb`, `de`... |
| `hl` | string | Language code - `en`, `hi`, `es`... |
| `maxPages` | integer | Pages per query, default 1. Each page is one request. |

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| `patent-result` | **$1.49 per 1,000 patents** ($0.00149 per patent) |

1,000 patents → **$1.49** · 10,000 → **$14.90** · 100,000 → **$149.00**

You are billed per row delivered, as it is delivered. Queries that fail or return nothing cost you
nothing, and an interrupted run only ever bills the rows already in your dataset.

### Use cases

#### Run prior-art and freedom-to-operate sweeps at scale

Fire dozens of phrasings of the same concept in one run and collect every hit with its date chain, instead of paging the site by hand.

#### Monitor a competitor's filings

Query by assignee name on a schedule and watch new publication numbers and grant dates appear.

#### Map a technology landscape

Export hits across a keyword set, then group by assignee and filing year to see who is investing where.

#### Find inventors and assignees for partnerships or hiring

The `inventor` and `assignee` columns turn a technical topic into a list of the people and organisations actually building in it.

#### Build patent datasets for analysis

Structured dates and publication numbers make downstream joins and time-series analysis simple.

### Good to know

- About 10 patents per page; `maxPages` controls depth.
- Date filtering happens in your own tooling - the date columns are there for it.
- Grant date is absent for applications that have not been granted.

### Frequently asked questions

#### Do I need proxies, an API key or a Google account?

No. Requests run through hosted Google search infrastructure on our side - nothing to configure.

#### How many patents can I get per query?

About 10 per page. Use `maxPages` (up to 100) for depth - each page is one request, so 10 pages returns roughly 100 patents per query.

#### Do I get the full patent text or claims?

No. You get the searchable record - title, abstract extract, numbers, parties and dates - plus the `link` to the full document on Google Patents.

#### Which jurisdictions are covered?

Whatever Google Patents indexes, including US, EP, WO, CN, JP, KR and more. The publication number prefix tells you the jurisdiction.

#### Can I filter by date?

Not through a date option - Google Patents ignores the recency filter. Export the rows and filter on `filingDate`, `priorityDate` or `grantDate` in your spreadsheet or database instead.

#### How do I export patent search results to CSV or Excel?

Download the run's dataset as CSV, Excel, JSON, JSONL or XML, or read it via the Apify API.

#### Am I charged for queries that return nothing?

No. Billing is per row delivered.
