## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Instagram Influencer Price Calculator - Rates, Score & Risk

**Work out what an Instagram creator is actually worth before you negotiate.** Paste a shortlist of handles and get a fair USD price range for one sponsored reel, the CPM that price implies, a 0–100 scorecard, and authenticity signals that flag bought followers. No login, no cookies, no API key.

> ⭐ fair price range per creator · CPM and cost per engagement · 0–100 score with verdict · fake-follower signals · bulk shortlists · CSV/JSON/Excel · API, MCP & schedules

### What does the Influencer Price Calculator do?

Creators quote a number. This tells you whether that number is fair. For each handle it reads the recent reels, works out what the audience actually does, and turns that into three things a negotiation needs: **what to pay**, **how good the creator is**, and **whether the audience is real**.

### What data does it return?

One row per creator:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `price_low_usd`, `price_center_usd`, `price_high_usd` | Fair USD range for one sponsored reel |
| `cpm_usd` | Cost per 1,000 views at the centre price |
| `cost_per_engagement_usd` | What each like, comment, share or save costs you |
| `rate_per_follower` | The tier rate the estimate starts from |
| `engagement_multiplier` | How much the creator's engagement moves that rate |
| `price_basis` | How the estimate was reached, in words |
| `score` | 0–100 scorecard |
| `verdict` | strong, solid, mixed or weak |
| `strengths`, `concerns` | Plain-language reasons behind the score |
| `engagement_rate_pct`, `tier_benchmark_pct`, `vs_benchmark` | Engagement against the benchmark for that size |
| `avg_views`, `median_views`, `view_rate_pct` | Real reach, not follower count |
| `avg_likes`, `avg_comments`, `avg_shares`, `avg_saves` | Per-reel averages |
| `posts_per_week`, `days_since_last_post`, `consistency` | How active and how steady |
| `sponsored_share_pct` | Share of recent reels that were paid partnerships |
| `authenticity_risk`, `authenticity_flags` | low / medium / high, with the reasons |
| `follower_following_ratio`, `comments_per_100_likes` | The ratios behind the risk call |
| `followers`, `tier`, `category`, `is_verified`, `public_email` | Profile basics and contact |

### How to price an influencer campaign

1. Paste your shortlist into **Instagram creators**, one handle per line.
2. Leave **Reels per creator** at 12, or raise it for a steadier estimate.
3. Run it and sort by `score` or by `cpm_usd` — the first ranks quality, the second ranks value for money.
4. Download as **CSV, Excel, JSON, JSONL or XML**, or read it from the API.

#### Input example

```json
{
  "usernames": ["mkbhd", "dave2d", "unboxtherapy"],
  "sampleReels": 12,
  "concurrency": 5
}
```

| Option | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `usernames` | array | **Required.** Handles or profile URLs, one per line. |
| `sampleReels` | integer | Recent reels behind the score and price, 3–30. Default 12. |
| `concurrency` | integer | Creators evaluated at once, 1–10. Default 5. |

### Pricing

| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| `creator-evaluated` | **$79.90 per 1,000 creators** ($0.0799 per creator) |

You are billed per creator row delivered. Private, deleted or unreadable handles return an error row and cost **nothing**. One evaluation covers the scorecard, the price range and the authenticity check — they share one read of the creator, so there is no add-on to buy.

### How the price is calculated

The estimate starts from the **tier rate** — what accounts of that size command per sponsored post — and then adjusts for how the audience actually behaves:

**price = followers × tier rate × engagement multiplier**

A creator engaging at twice their tier benchmark earns a multiplier above 1; one engaging at half earns less than 1. The range is widened around that centre to give you a negotiating band, and `cpm_usd` restates the centre price per 1,000 actual views so you can compare a nano creator against a mega one on the same basis.

This is a **market estimate, not a quote**. It reflects public engagement data, not exclusivity, usage rights, whitelisting or production costs — all of which legitimately move a real contract.

### Use cases

#### Decide what to offer before the first email

Run the shortlist, read `price_center_usd`, and open the conversation with a number you can defend from the creator's own engagement data.

#### Sanity-check a rate card a creator sent you

Compare their ask against the range. A quote far above `price_high_usd` needs a reason — exclusivity, usage rights, production — and now you know to ask for it.

#### Rank a shortlist by value rather than reach

`cpm_usd` and `cost_per_engagement_usd` make a 50k creator and a 5M creator directly comparable. The cheapest follower is rarely the cheapest customer.

#### Screen out bought audiences before you pay

`authenticity_risk` combines follower-to-following ratio, view rate and comment-to-like ratio. A high-risk creator with a beautiful follower count is exactly the one to drop.

#### Build a rate card for a roster or marketplace

One row per creator with price, CPM, score and category drops straight into an internal rate card, and the whole roster can be re-run quarterly as engagement shifts.

### Good to know

- The score and price are based on **reels**, because that is where Instagram reports views. Photo-first accounts still return a score; compare them with other photo-first accounts.
- The three newest reels are skipped (their views are still climbing) and outliers are trimmed with a 1.5× IQR fence, so one viral reel does not inflate a price.
- Sponsored detection reads Instagram's paid-partnership flag and caption markers like #ad or a discount code. It is a keyword test, so treat `sponsored_share_pct` as an estimate.
- Private accounts cannot be evaluated and return a `private` status row at no charge.
- Prices are in USD.

### Frequently asked questions

#### How much should I pay an Instagram influencer?

Use `price_center_usd` as the fair rate for one sponsored reel and the low–high band as your negotiating range. The estimate is built from the creator's follower tier adjusted by how their audience actually engages, so a highly engaged 50k creator can be worth more than a flat 200k one.

#### How is the influencer rate calculated?

Followers × the tier rate for that size × an engagement multiplier derived from the creator's engagement against their tier benchmark. `price_basis` spells out the inputs for each row.

#### Is this a quote or an estimate?

An estimate of market value from public engagement data. It does not include usage rights, exclusivity, whitelisting or production, which are negotiated separately.

#### How do I check whether an influencer has fake followers?

Read `authenticity_risk` and `authenticity_flags`. The signals are the follower-to-following ratio, how many views a post gets relative to followers, and how many comments arrive per 100 likes. A large account with a low view rate is the classic bought-follower pattern.

#### What does the 0–100 score mean?

It combines engagement against benchmark, real reach, sample depth and sponsorship balance. Above 70 is strong, 50–70 solid, 30–50 mixed, below 30 weak — and `strengths` and `concerns` explain each row in words.

#### Do I need an Instagram login or an API key?

No. Requests run through hosted infrastructure on our side; your own account is never used.

#### Can I evaluate a whole shortlist at once?

Yes. Paste every handle into **Instagram creators** — they are evaluated in parallel, so a shortlist of 100 takes a few minutes.

#### What currency are prices in?

USD.

#### What does it cost to evaluate 1,000 creators?

$79.90, billed per creator delivered. Unreadable creators cost nothing.

# Actor input Schema

## `usernames` (type: `array`):

Handles or profile URLs of the creators to evaluate, one per line - e.g. <code>mkbhd</code> or <code>https://www.instagram.com/mkbhd/</code>. Private accounts return an error row and are not billed.

## `sampleReels` (type: `integer`):

How many recent reels the score and the price are based on. The three newest reels are skipped because their views are still rising, and outliers are trimmed with a 1.5x IQR fence. More reels means a steadier estimate; it does not change the price you pay.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many creators to evaluate at once. Raise it for long shortlists; lower it if the data provider starts rate-limiting.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "usernames": [
    "mkbhd",
    "dave2d",
    "unboxtherapy"
  ],
  "sampleReels": 12,
  "concurrency": 5
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `evaluations` (type: `string`):

One dataset item per creator: price range, CPM, score, engagement, reach and authenticity signals.

## `evaluationsCsv` (type: `string`):

The same rows as a CSV download, ready for a negotiation sheet or campaign plan.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

Creators evaluated, errors and upstream requests for this run.
