## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Contact Extractor — Emails, Phone Numbers and Social Profiles from Any Website

**Turn a list of websites into a contact list.** Paste websites or domains and get each one's email addresses, phone numbers and social media profiles. The Actor reads the home page and the contact, imprint and about pages, decodes hidden addresses, and puts the business's own email first. No proxies to buy, no browser to run. Pay per website, no start fee.

> ⭐ Bulk website email extractor · contact and about pages scanned · Cloudflare-protected and obfuscated emails decoded · Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp · duplicates removed · unreachable sites are free

### What does Website Contact Extractor do?

Give it websites. For each one it:

1. Opens the home page.
2. Finds the contact, imprint or about page and opens that too.
3. Extracts every email address, phone number and social profile link.
4. Ranks the emails, with the site's own domain first and third-party addresses last.
5. Returns one row per website.

You can paste full URLs, bare domains such as `example.com`, or even email addresses, in which case the address's domain is scanned.

### What data does it extract?

#### Contact fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `email` | The best email address for the website |
| `emails` | Every address found, ranked: own domain, then free mail such as Gmail, then others |
| `websitePhones` | Phone numbers from the site's call links |
| `facebook`, `instagram`, `linkedin`, `twitter`, `youtube`, `tiktok`, `pinterest`, `whatsapp`, `telegram` | Social profile links |
| `contactStatus` | `email_found`, `social_only`, `none`, `unreachable` or `website_is_social` |
| `contactPagesScanned` | How many pages were read |

#### Website fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `domain`, `url`, `finalUrl` | The website, and where it redirected to |
| `siteName`, `siteTitle`, `siteDescription` | Name, title and description from the page |
| `language` | Page language |
| `input` | Exactly what you entered, so results join back to your list |

### Why use this website email extractor

#### It finds the emails others miss

Many sites hide addresses from simple scrapers. This Actor decodes Cloudflare email protection, reads `mailto:` links, and understands addresses written as `name [at] domain [dot] com`. It also ignores the false positives that pollute other tools, such as image file names and tracking addresses.

#### The right email comes first

A footer often carries the web agency's address next to the business's own. Emails are ranked so the business's domain comes first, which is the one you want.

#### It reads the contact page, not just the home page

Most business emails live on the contact or imprint page. The Actor finds and reads it in English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and French sites, and stops as soon as it has what it needs.

#### You pay for results

Each reachable website is one small charge, and a found email is a second. Websites that are down, blocked or not real addresses cost nothing.

#### Fast, with nothing to configure

Sixteen websites are scanned in parallel. No proxies, no login, no browser.

### How to extract emails from websites

1. Open the Actor and paste your **Websites**, one per line.
2. Optionally set **Max pages per website**. The default of 3 covers the home, contact and about pages.
3. Press **Start**. Rows appear as websites are scanned.
4. Export as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML, or read the dataset through the API.

> 💡 Have a list of companies from Google Maps, a store directory or a CRM export? Paste the website column. The `input` field in each row is your original value, so the results join straight back to your sheet.

### Input example

```json
{
  "urls": ["toothbar.com", "https://www.dishoom.com/", "epochcoffee.com"],
  "maxPagesPerSite": 3
}
```

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `urls` | array | **Required.** Websites, domains or email addresses, one per line. |
| `maxPagesPerSite` | integer | Pages to read per website, 1 to 5. Default 3. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Cap on websites scanned in the run. 0 means no cap. |

### Output example

```json
{
  "type": "site",
  "input": "toothbar.com",
  "domain": "toothbar.com",
  "url": "http://toothbar.com",
  "finalUrl": "https://toothbar.com/",
  "contactStatus": "email_found",
  "email": "info@toothbar.com",
  "emails": ["info@toothbar.com"],
  "websitePhones": ["+15125550101"],
  "facebook": "https://www.facebook.com/toothbar",
  "instagram": "https://www.instagram.com/thetoothbar",
  "linkedin": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/toothbar",
  "contactPagesScanned": 2,
  "siteName": "Toothbar",
  "siteTitle": "Dentist Austin | Dentist Near Me | Toothbar",
  "language": "en-us"
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per website. **No start fee, no monthly rental, no minimum.**

| Event | Charged for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| `site-scanned` | each website that could be reached and scanned | **$0.99 / 1,000** |
| `email-found` | each website where an email address was found | **$1.99 / 1,000** |
| - | unreachable websites, invalid entries, duplicates | **free** |

| You scan | You pay |
|---|---|
| 1,000 websites, emails found on 500 | **$1.99** |
| 10,000 websites, emails found on 5,000 | **$19.85** |
| 100,000 websites, emails found on 50,000 | **$198.50** |

You are charged right after each batch lands in your dataset, so a run you stop early costs only what it delivered.

### Use cases

#### B2B lead generation

Turn any list of company websites into an outreach list with an email and social profiles for each.

#### Enrich Google Maps and directory exports

Local business lists come with a website but no email. Paste the website column here and merge the results back on `input`.

#### CRM and list cleaning

Fill missing emails and social profiles for accounts you already have, and flag websites that no longer resolve.

#### Agencies and sales teams

Build prospect lists by niche: collect websites from search results or a directory, then extract contacts in one run.

#### Partnerships, PR and link building

Find the right contact address for outreach to publishers, blogs and potential partners.

#### Recruitment and sourcing

Collect contact details for companies in a target sector.

### FAQ

**How many websites return an email?**
In our test on 250 mixed business websites, 62% of the reachable sites returned an email. The rest publish only a contact form. Those return their social profiles and `contactStatus: social_only` or `none`, and are not charged the email event.

**How fast is it?**
About 200 websites a minute at the default memory of 4 GB. Keep that setting: with less memory the run is slower, costs about the same, and slow pages can be cut short.

**Does it use a browser?**
No. It reads pages over plain HTTP, which is why it is fast and cheap. An address that a page builds only with JavaScript after loading is not seen.

**Which pages does it read?**
The home page, then the best contact, imprint or about page linked from it. If no such link exists and no email was found, it tries `/contact`.

**What is `website_is_social`?**
You entered a Facebook, Instagram or similar address instead of a website. The link is returned as the matching social field, and nothing is charged.

**Why is a website unreachable?**
The domain does not resolve, the server did not answer in time, or the site blocks automated visitors. Unreachable websites are free.

**Can it find a specific person's email?**
No. It returns the addresses a website publishes. It does not guess or verify personal addresses.

**Is extracting emails from websites legal?**
This is general information, not legal advice. The Actor collects only contact details that websites publish openly. A business email can still be personal data under laws such as GDPR when it identifies a person, and email marketing is regulated in most countries: consent or legitimate-interest rules, identification and opt-out requirements apply. Collect only what you need, honour opt-outs, and ask a lawyer before large-scale outreach.

**Can I run it from my own code or a spreadsheet?**
Yes. Use the Apify API, or the Google Sheets, Make, Zapier and n8n integrations.
