## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## WA Fuel Prices (FuelWatch)

Get the petrol, diesel and LPG prices posted at service stations across Western Australia. You get one clean row per station and fuel type, with the station's name, brand, suburb, address, phone number, map position, opening hours and the price. The prices come straight from FuelWatch, the official price feed run by the Government of Western Australia. No coding and no account with the government is needed: choose what you want and press Start.

### Who it is for

- **Drivers, fleet managers and delivery businesses** who want to find the cheapest fuel in a suburb or across Perth.
- **Journalists, researchers and analysts** tracking how fuel prices move between suburbs, brands and days.
- **Anyone** who wants a spreadsheet of today's prices instead of clicking through a website.

### What you can set

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Fuel types | Which fuels to include: Unleaded 91 (standard petrol), Premium unleaded 95, Premium unleaded 98, Diesel, Premium diesel (the higher grade often used by trucks), LPG (gas sold as autogas) and E85 (a fuel that is mostly ethanol). Default is Unleaded 91. You get one row per station for each fuel you tick. |
| Region | All of Western Australia (default), Perth north of the Swan River, Perth south of the river, or the Perth hills and eastern suburbs. |
| Suburbs | Optional list of suburb or town names, for example `Fremantle` or `Broome`. This is the way to reach anywhere outside Perth. When you add any, each suburb is looked up on its own and the Region setting is ignored. A suburb with no stations simply returns nothing. |
| Brands | Optional list of words, for example `BP`, `Ampol` or `7-Eleven`. Only stations whose brand name contains one of them are kept. Capital letters do not matter. |
| Day | Today (default) or tomorrow. |
| Maximum rows to return | The most rows you want back. Default 1,000, up to 10,000. It also caps what you pay. |

### About the prices

Prices are in Australian cents per litre, so `229.3` means $2.293 a litre. FuelWatch publishes tomorrow's prices each afternoon, Perth time, so asking for "tomorrow" earlier in the day may return nothing. That is normal and the run still finishes successfully with no rows and no charge.

### What you get

One row per station and fuel type, with these fields in this order: `stationName`, `brand`, `fuelType`, `priceCentsPerLitre`, `priceDate`, `suburb`, `address`, `phone`, `latitude`, `longitude`, `siteFeatures` (opening hours and facilities), `restrictions` (for example unmanned sites), `region` (the region you chose, or `SUBURB` when you searched by suburb), `sourceUrl` (the exact feed address the row came from), `source` and `fetchedAt` (when the row was collected). Anything FuelWatch leaves blank is `null`. A station appears only once per fuel and day.

Sample row:

```json
{
  "stationName": "Ampol Rous Head",
  "brand": "Ampol",
  "fuelType": "ULP",
  "priceCentsPerLitre": 229.5,
  "priceDate": "2026-11-04",
  "suburb": "North Fremantle",
  "address": "Cnr North Mole Dr & Rous Head Rd",
  "phone": "(08) 9431 7120",
  "latitude": -32.041146,
  "longitude": 115.738844,
  "siteFeatures": "Open 24 hours",
  "restrictions": "Unmanned site (credit card charges may apply);",
  "region": "SUBURB",
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/fuelwatch/fuelWatchRSS?Product=1&Suburb=Fremantle",
  "source": "FuelWatch, Government of Western Australia",
  "fetchedAt": "2026-11-04T08:30:00.000Z"
}
```

### Pricing

You pay US$0.002 per row returned (US$2 per 1,000 rows), and nothing when there are no matches.

### Limits and tips

- **Suburb searches** also match nearby names that contain yours, so `Fremantle` includes North Fremantle.
- **Speed:** the actor makes one request per fuel type (and per suburb) with a one second pause between requests, so a run with a few fuels finishes in well under a minute.
- **If FuelWatch is down,** the actor tries once more and then stops with a clear message instead of returning half an answer.

# Actor input Schema

## `fuelTypes` (type: `array`):

Which fuels you want prices for. Unleaded 91 is the standard petrol. Premium unleaded 95 and 98 are higher-octane petrol (octane is a rating of how well petrol resists knocking in the engine). LPG is liquefied petroleum gas, sold as autogas. E85 is a fuel that is mostly ethanol. Premium diesel is the higher grade often used by trucks. You get one row per station for each fuel you tick.

## `region` (type: `string`):

Which part of Western Australia to cover. Ignored if you fill in 'Suburbs' below.

## `suburbs` (type: `array`):

Names of suburbs or towns, for example Fremantle or Broome. This is the way to reach anywhere outside Perth. When you add any, the run looks up each suburb separately and the 'Region' setting is ignored. A suburb with no stations just returns nothing.

## `brands` (type: `array`):

Only keep stations whose brand name contains one of these words, ignoring capital letters. For example BP, Ampol or 7-Eleven. Leave empty for all brands.

## `day` (type: `string`):

Which day's prices to get. FuelWatch publishes tomorrow's prices each afternoon, Perth time, so 'tomorrow' may return nothing earlier in the day. That is normal.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

The most rows you want back. You are charged per row returned, so this also caps your cost. One row is one station and one fuel type.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "fuelTypes": [
    "ULP"
  ],
  "region": "ALL_WA",
  "day": "today",
  "maxResults": 1000
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

The fuel price rows as a table.
