# App Store Global Price & Localization Matrix (`zerahdata/app-store-price-localization-matrix`) Actor

For any iOS app, check 100+ App Store countries in one run: local price and USD price, rating, availability, chart rank and whether the app and its store listing are localized.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## App Store Global Price & Localization Matrix

Check any iOS app in **100+ App Store countries in one run** and see, side by side:

- the **local price and the price in USD** (daily exchange rates)
- **rating and rating count per country** (where the users really are)
- **availability** (which storefronts don't carry the app)
- **top-100 chart position** (free and paid) per country
- whether the **app is localized** into the local language
- whether the **store listing (name and description) is localized**, checked in the local language of each storefront

Plus a free **insight report** per app: price spread, cheapest and most expensive markets, big markets with no localization, markets where the app is translated but the store listing is still in English (an easy ASO win), and rating outliers.

### Who it is for

- **Developers and ASO teams:** find under-priced countries and missing translations, prioritized by number of ratings.
- **Market research:** compare competitors' pricing and reach across Japan, Korea, Turkey, Brazil, the Gulf, Southeast Asia and Europe.
- **Monitoring:** with change tracking, get only what changed: price changes, rating moves, new versions, chart moves, apps removed from a store.

### How to use

1. Add app URLs or ids. You can also add a **developer id** (checks all of their apps) or **search terms** (finds competitor apps first).
2. Pick countries, or tick **All supported storefronts**.
3. Run. Open **Matrix** for rows, **Insight report** for the summary and **Changes** for monitoring.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "apps": ["https://apps.apple.com/us/app/procreate/id425073498"],
  "countries": ["us", "jp", "de", "tr", "br", "in", "sa", "kr", "vn", "pl", "se"],
  "includeChartRanks": true
}
```

#### Example insight report (shortened)

```json
{
  "appName": "Procreate",
  "medianPriceUsd": 15.28,
  "insights": [
    "Price ranges from $11.47 (Japan) to $18.02 (Sweden); median $15.28.",
    "Sweden: 1197 ratings but the app has no SV localization.",
    "Vietnam: 1032 ratings but the app has no VI localization."
  ]
}
```

### Pricing

**$2.00 per 1,000 app-country rows**, no start fee. (One app in 25 countries = 25 rows = $0.05.) Insight reports, change rows and error rows are never charged.

### Reliability

- Store listings are requested in each country's own language, so "not localized" means really not localized.
- Retries with backoff. Apple's public chart feed is sometimes slow, so chart checks are capped at about 2 minutes per run; storefronts whose chart did not load are marked `chartsChecked: "unavailable"` and are never reported as a rank change. Turn charts off for the fastest runs (all 100+ storefronts in seconds).
- One bad id or country becomes an error row; the run continues.

### FAQ

**Where does the data come from?** Apple's public app lookup and public top-charts feeds. No login. Exchange rates: Rates By Exchange Rate API.

**Are in-app purchase prices included?** No, only the app's upfront price. Free apps still get ratings, availability, charts and localization checks.

**How often should I run it?** Daily or weekly with change tracking for monitoring.

# Actor input Schema

## `apps` (type: `array`):

App Store URLs or numeric app ids.

## `developerIds` (type: `array`):

Optional. App Store developer URL or numeric id; every app of the developer is checked.

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Optional. Find apps by keyword (e.g. competitors), then check them worldwide.

## `searchCountry` (type: `string`):

Search storefront.

## `maxAppsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Max apps per search term.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

2-letter storefront codes. Empty = 25 key markets.

## `allCountries` (type: `boolean`):

All supported storefronts (100+).

## `includeChartRanks` (type: `boolean`):

Adds top free / top paid rank per country. Adds up to about 2 minutes to the run because Apple's chart feed is slow.

## `includeSummary` (type: `boolean`):

Free summary row: price spread in USD, cheapest and priciest markets, localization gaps, store-listing gaps, rating outliers.

## `trackChanges` (type: `boolean`):

Flags price changes, rating moves, new versions, chart moves and availability changes per country.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Monitor name.

## `outputMode` (type: `string`):

Output.

## `concurrency` (type: `integer`):

Parallel countries.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Usually not needed.
