## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Bluesky Post Search & Profile Scraper - Keywords, Hashtags, Authors (No Login)

Search **Bluesky** posts by **keyword, hashtag, brand, domain, mention or language**, or scrape the posts of any **profile**, and export clean JSON / CSV / Excel. Uses the **public Bluesky (AT Protocol) API** - no Bluesky account, no app password, no browser, no proxies. 100 posts in under a second.

### Who uses it

- **Brand & reputation monitoring**: schedule daily (`onlyNewerThanDays: 1`) and catch every new post mentioning your product, competitor or domain.
- **Social listening & PR agencies**: add Bluesky (40M+ users, many journalists, scientists and developers) next to X/Twitter, Mastodon and Reddit.
- **Researchers & data journalists**: collect posts on a topic with engagement metrics and languages.
- **Marketers & growth teams**: find people asking for tools ("alternative to ...") and the most-liked posts in a niche.
- **Content & AI pipelines**: send posts to n8n, Make, Zapier or an LLM for summaries and sentiment.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Keywords, `"exact phrases"`, `#hashtags`. Bluesky search operators work too. |
| `authors` | Profile handles or DIDs to scrape. |
| `sort` | `latest` (pages back in time - best for monitoring) or `top` (most engaging, max ~100 per query). |
| `maxPostsPerSource` | Per query / profile (default 50). |
| `onlyNewerThanDays` | Date filter. |
| `language`, `fromAuthor`, `mentions`, `domain` | Search filters. `domain` = posts linking to your site. |
| `includeReplies`, `includeReposts` | Fine-tuning. |

```json
{ "queries": ["\"your brand\"", "#yourbrand"], "domain": "", "sort": "latest", "onlyNewerThanDays": 1, "maxPostsPerSource": 1000 }
```

### Output (one row per post)

```json
{
  "sourceType": "search",
  "source": "n8n",
  "url": "https://bsky.app/profile/hamsaitech.bsky.social/post/3mycgo4p7bs23",
  "uri": "at://did:plc:3syscd2mexf7qjfe5iqwdm6u/app.bsky.feed.post/3mycgo4p7bs23",
  "createdAt": "2026-10-20T10:33:09.963Z",
  "text": "AI Agent: AI Book Writing & Publishing System for Writers - n8n Workflow ...",
  "languages": ["en"],
  "authorHandle": "hamsaitech.bsky.social",
  "authorName": "Ismail - HamsAITech",
  "likes": 2, "reposts": 0, "replies": 0, "quotes": 0,
  "hashtags": ["AIAgents", "n8n"],
  "links": ["https://ismailsaleem.gumroad.com/l/..."],
  "linkCardUrl": null,
  "images": [],
  "isReply": false, "isRepost": false
}
```

Posts are deduplicated within a run. A `RUN_SUMMARY` record is saved in the key-value store.

### Pricing (pay per event)

- **$0.001 per post saved** (`bsky-post`) - $1 per 1,000 posts.
- Tiny start fee per run (`apify-actor-start`).
- Failed requests, duplicates and filtered posts are not charged. Set "Maximum cost per run" to cap spend.

### Notes

- Only public posts that Bluesky serves without login. Respect authors' privacy and Bluesky's terms; do not use the data for spam. Not affiliated with Bluesky Social PBC.
- `top` search returns about 100 posts per query (an API limit for anonymous access); use `latest` for more.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Bluesky account or app password?** No.
**Can I monitor a hashtag every hour?** Yes - add a schedule in Apify with `onlyNewerThanDays: 1`.
