## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## France SIRENE Company Search - SIREN/SIRET & NAF Leads

Search **French companies in the official SIRENE / Annuaire des Entreprises open API** (`recherche-entreprises.api.gouv.fr`) and get one clean English-keyed JSON row per company: **SIREN**, HQ **SIRET**, name, **NAF/APE** code, creation date, HQ address, city, postal code, department, employee tranche, enterprise category, administrative status, VAT number and Annuaire URL. No API key, no scraping - typically tens of companies per second.

**Privacy by default:** company officers (`dirigeants`), birth dates and nationalities are **not** included unless you turn on `includeOfficers` (names + roles only; birth dates / nationality are never exported).

### Who uses it

- **B2B sales & lead generation** in France / EU: IT shops by NAF `62.*`, restaurants in a département, new companies created this month.
- **KYB / onboarding / compliance**: bulk-verify SIREN/SIRET, active status and HQ address.
- **Market research & investors**: segment companies by industry, size class and region.
- **CRM enrichment**: paste SIREN/SIRET lists, get structured firmographics.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `names` | Free-text / name searches (one per line). |
| `sirenSiret` | 9-digit SIREN or 14-digit SIRET for bulk lookup. |
| `nafCodes` | Exact NAF/APE codes, e.g. `62.01Z`, `70.22Z`, `56.10A`. |
| `nafSections` | Letter sections, e.g. `J` (ICT), `M` (professional services). |
| `nafPreset` | Packs: `it`, `consulting`, `restaurants`, `construction`, `retail`, `health`, `accounting_legal`. |
| `departments` | Département codes (`75`, `69`, `13`…). |
| `postalCodes` | 5-digit postal codes. |

- Tiny start fee per run (`apify-actor-start`). Failed searches are not charged. Set "Maximum cost per run" to cap spend.

### Data source & license

- Data from the French government **Annuaire des Entreprises / recherche-entreprises** API, based on **INSEE SIRENE** open data. Reuse is allowed under French open-data terms; attribute the source for public redistribution.
- This Actor is **not affiliated** with INSEE, DINUM or the Annuaire des Entreprises.
- Privacy: personal officer data is omitted by default. Even with `includeOfficers=true`, birth dates and nationality are never exported. Follow GDPR and French marketing law for any outreach.
