## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Shopify Store Detector - Store Info, Apps & Contacts

Paste a list of domains and find out **which ones are Shopify stores** - and get a ready-to-use profile of each store: **store name, currency, country, number of products and collections, price range, product types, theme, installed apps** (Klaviyo, Yotpo, Judge.me, Recharge, Gorgias, Attentive, Afterpay, Klarna...), plus **emails, phone numbers and social profiles** (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook...).

Built for Shopify app developers, agencies, e-commerce SaaS sales teams and investors who need qualified Shopify leads, competitor research or technographics.

### How to use it

1. Paste domains (one per line) - from a CRM export, a lead list or another scraper.
2. Start. Export results as CSV / Excel / JSON, or filter `isShopify = true`.

Input example:

```json
{"domains": ["allbirds.com", "gymshark.com", "example.com"], "includeProducts": true, "includeContacts": true}
```

### Output example

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `isShopify`, `shopifySignals` | `true`, `["x-shopify headers", "cdn.shopify.com assets", "Shopify.theme object"]` |
| `storeName`, `currency`, `storeCountry` | `Allbirds`, `USD`, `US` |
| `productCount`, `collectionCount` | `692`, `1346` |
| `priceMin`, `priceMedian`, `priceMax` | from the latest 250 products |
| `themeName`, `themeSchemaName`, `themeStoreId` | e.g. `Dawn` (theme store id 887) |
| `appsDetected` | `["Klaviyo", "Yotpo", "Gorgias"]` |
| `primaryEmail`, `emails`, `phones` | from homepage and contact page |
| `instagram`, `facebook`, `tiktok`, `youtube`, `socialProfiles` | profile URLs |
| `myshopifyDomain`, `shipsToCountries`, `productsSample` | ... |
| `status` | `ok`, `unreachable`, `blocked`, `robotsDisallowed`, `httpError`, `invalid` |

### Pricing (pay per event)

You pay only for sites that were reachable and checked (Shopify or not):

| Sites checked | Cost |
|---|---|
| 100 | $0.40 |
| 1,000 | $4.00 |
| 10,000 | $40.00 |

Plus $0.00005 per run start. **Free:** invalid inputs, duplicates, unreachable / blocked / robots.txt-disallowed sites. The Apify Free plan's $5 monthly credit covers about 1,200 sites. If your **Maximum cost per run** is reached, the Actor stops cleanly; the remaining domains are listed as `NOT_PROCESSED_DOMAINS` in the key-value store.

### How it works (and what it doesn't do)

- Plain HTTP (no browser): homepage, the store's public `/meta.json` and `/products.json`, and the contact page - about 4 requests per store, sequential, **robots.txt respected**.
- App detection is based on scripts in the homepage HTML; apps loaded only later by JavaScript may be missed.
- Product count comes from the store's own published count; if that is unavailable, it is estimated from `/products.json` (`250+`).
- No login, no captcha solving, no anti-bot bypass. Shopify rate limits (429) are respected - one polite retry, then the field is left empty.
- Emails are those published on the site. If you use them for outreach, follow GDPR / CAN-SPAM / PECR rules.
