What are platform usage credits and how many do I need?
The Apify platform has a number of services that are charged based on their actual usage, such as actors, proxy, data transfer, or storage. See Platform pricing for the full list of platform services.
Each subscription plan comes with a certain amount of credits that are used to pay for platform services. If your platform usage in a given billing cycle exceeds this amount of credits, the excess usage will be added to your next invoice, and you will get a notification. If you're on the free plan, your access to Apify platform services will be blocked until the beginning of the next monthly cycle.
Note that unused usage credits are not rolled over to the next billing cycle, and they expire at the end of the billing cycle.
Can I try Apify for free?
Absolutely! We offer a free plan that lets you use most of the features of the Apify platform, just with certain limits. No credit card required. The free plan includes a trial of Apify Proxy, which is limited to usage from within the platform, not from external clients. Sign up right now!

Which plan should I choose?
If you're not sure which plan is right for you, just pick the lowest-priced plan that has all the features that you need. If you exceed the platform usage credits for your plan, you will get a notification, and the excess usage will be added to the next invoice - see below for details.
You can upgrade to a higher plan any time in Billing settings, and you'll only pay for the price difference.
What is the pricing for actors in Apify Store?
The actors in Apify Store are either free or have to be rented for a monthly fee specific to each actor. Running actors will consume the platform usage credits included in your plan. Excess usage will be charged to your next invoice.
The exact platform usage depends on the specific actor, the type of job it performs, how often it runs, and for how long. The easiest way to find out the platform usage of an actor is to perform a test run. You can then review platform usage in Billing settings and figure out the best subscription plan for your needs.

Can I upgrade, downgrade or cancel my plan?
You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your plan any time in Billing settings.
On upgrade, your payment will be prorated so you will only pay for the difference between the old and the new price, taking into account how much of the billing cycle has already passed.
On downgrades, there is no proration, except for the unused platform usage credits that are rolled over to the new plan.
If you decide to cancel, your subscription will last until the end of the current billing cycle, and it won't be renewed after that. Note that you might still be charged for excess platform usage.
What payment methods do you accept and how can I change them?
You can pay using a credit card, debit card or PayPal. Your payments are processed securely by Braintree, a PayPal company. You will be charged right away when you subscribe to a paid plan and then every month or year, depending on your selected billing interval. Enterprise customers can also pay by wire transfer.

How can I buy add-ons such as more datacenter proxies or team account seats?
When subscribing to a paid plan, you can purchase add-ons such as shared datacenter proxies, max actor memory, team account seats or enterprise-class support. Note that some add-ons are only available for certain plans. For example, Additional team account seats are only available for the Team plan.
For existing subscriptions, you can easily buy or remove add-ons in Billing settings.
Do you offer student discounts?
Sorry, we don't offer student discounts. Please use the free plan. From time to time, we offer various promotions, so keep an eye out for those!
