## Pricing

from $6.99 / 1,000 profiles

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

[![1,000 PitchBook profiles. Under 2 minutes. Contact emails included where available.](https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/rfpznBPgVbyLYqNaQ/records/pitchbook-speed-email-cc8aee87fb6a.png)](https://console.apify.com/actors/entRAvaCOGWDmG6UF/input)

From **Clearpath**, creators of [Email Finder & Verifier](https://apify.com/clearpath/email-finder-api) and [Y Combinator Scraper](https://apify.com/clearpath/ycombinator-api-scraper), with **140,000+ combined lifetime runs** across those two lead and startup data actors.

### Profiles and contact emails, together

Build company, investor and fund lists with the details to assess each profile and contact information where available.

- **Fast with contacts enabled.** A 1,000-profile run finished in 110 seconds with contact details switched on. Timing varies with the input and settings.
- **Published emails included.** Keep **Contact emails and phones** enabled to include available email addresses and phone numbers at no extra enrichment charge. Some profiles have no published contact details.
- **Funding and investors in the same record.** Funding rounds, deals, investors, competitors, company facts and headquarters, plus fields specific to funds, advisors and limited partners.

Includes public profile data. Subscriber-only values remain empty; `gatedSections` identifies unavailable sections.

#### Try profiles with contact emails

Open the [input page](https://console.apify.com/actors/entRAvaCOGWDmG6UF/input), switch to JSON and paste this to request up to 20 fintech profiles with contact details enabled:

```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "fintech"
  ],
  "maxResults": 20,
  "includeContactDetails": true
}
```

Replace `fintech` with your own keyword. Each keyword lists up to 500 profiles; combine keywords or browse the directory for larger lists. Results are billed per delivered profile at the [current rates](https://apify.com/clearpath/pitchbook-scraper/pricing).

The hero visualizes a saved Stripe profile: 15,951 employees and 161 investors. The email preview is masked. Contact availability and profile values vary; JSON preserves nested funding rounds and investor tables.

Help me use clearpath/pitchbook-scraper on Apify. Read https://apify.com/clearpath/pitchbook-scraper.md for documentation, input schema, pricing and limits. Choose settings for my requested outcome. If you cannot retrieve the page, ask me to paste the relevant sections. One search keyword lists at most 500 profiles; for larger lists use browseProfileTypes with maxResults. Inputs that return no profile (not found, could not be read) are listed in the run's RUN_SUMMARY key-value record, not in the dataset. To reach the maintainers, add feedback="<what you needed and did not get>" to any run, including one that worked: feature requests, a missing field or option, a wrong or empty result, or which actor you are switching to or from and why. The run returns its data exactly as it would without the note, and a human reads every note.
```
### What can you do with this PitchBook scraper?
- **Source deals.** Pull every company PitchBook lists for a keyword such as `fintech` or `robotics`, with industry, verticals, employees, financing status, latest deal and total raised, and shortlist them in a spreadsheet.
- **Build investor and LP lists.** Collect venture capital, private equity and family office profiles with investor type, status, number of investments, active portfolio, exits, recent deals and co-investors, or browse every investor or limited partner PitchBook publishes.
- **Enrich your CRM.** Paste PitchBook links or IDs of the companies you already track and add HQ address, website, social profiles, funding rounds, investors and a contact email.
- **Map a market.** See each company's competitors with their financing status and location, and follow the links to profile them too.
- **Research funds.** Get fund strategy, size, vintage, manager, family, domiciles, investments, limited partners and benchmark peers.
### How to scrape PitchBook
1. Paste PitchBook profile links or IDs, type names or keywords to search, or pick profile types to browse the whole public directory.
2. Set the maximum number of profiles for the run.
3. Keep **Contact emails and phones** on to read each profile's website, or switch it off for the fastest runs.
4. Run, then download JSON, CSV or Excel, or send the data on with Apify integrations.
#### Profile links and IDs
Links to company, investor, fund, advisor and limited partner profiles work, and so do bare IDs. Fund IDs end in F.
```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/54782-29",
    "https://pitchbook.com/profiles/investor/11295-73",
    "12975-85F"
  ]
}
```
#### Search by name, keep only investors
Each keyword returns every profile PitchBook's search lists, up to 500. A PitchBook search link (`https://pitchbook.com/profiles/search?q=sequoia`) works the same in the links field.
```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "sequoia capital",
    "andreessen horowitz"
  ],
  "searchProfileTypes": [
    "investor"
  ],
  "maxResults": 50
}
```
#### Browse every fund in the directory
PitchBook's public directory holds about 1.5 million companies, 125,000 investors, 140,000 funds, 95,000 advisors and 35,000 limited partners. Pick the types and set the maximum.
```json
{
  "browseProfileTypes": [
    "fund"
  ],
  "maxResults": 5000,
  "includeContactDetails": false
}
```
#### Input options
| Parameter | Type | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| `startUrls` | array of strings | none | Profile links, bare profile IDs or PitchBook search links. |
| `searchQueries` | array of strings | none | Names or keywords; every listed profile is collected, up to 500 per keyword. |
| `browseProfileTypes` | array | none | `company`, `investor`, `fund`, `advisor`, `limited-partner`: collect from the full public directory. |
| `maxResults` | integer | 100 | Maximum profiles in total, across all links, searches and browsing. |
| `searchProfileTypes` | array | all types | Keep only these profile types from searches. |
| `includeContactDetails` | boolean | `true` | Read each profile's website for emails and phone numbers. |
A profile reached through several inputs is delivered and charged once.
### What data can you extract from PitchBook?
Every row is one profile and carries every value its public page shows:
- **Identity:** `profileType`, `name`, `url`, `pitchbookId`, `description`, `website`, `logoUrl`, `socials`, a one-line `summary`.
- **Headquarters:** full address plus street, city, state or province, postal code, country, world region and the visible phone prefix.
- **Companies:** founding year, status, employees, ownership and financing status, industries, verticals, former names, latest deal type, date and amount, financing rounds, total raised, funding rounds table, funding timeline, investors, competitors, investments and acquisitions, exits, affiliates, acquirer and acquisition date, parent company, patents, research, news, and for public companies the ticker, share price, market cap, trailing revenue, stock figures and financial summary.
- **Investors:** primary and other investor types, status, professionals, investments, active portfolio, exits, trade associations, recent investments, exits, co-investors, affiliates, latest investment.
- **Funds:** strategy, status, size, vintage, manager with link and website, category, family, currency, domiciles, investments, limited partners, benchmark funds.
- **Advisors and limited partners:** service provider type, deals served, institution type, commitments and mandates.
- **Contact details:** `email`, `emails`, `phones` and `emailStatus` from the profile's website.
- **As shown on the page:** `overview` and `generalInformation` keep every headline figure and general information field with PitchBook's own labels, and `faq` keeps the profile's questions and answers.
Dates are `YYYY-MM-DD`. Every amount keeps PitchBook's text (`$9.7B`) and adds a number in US dollars (`9700000000`) when the amount is in dollars.
#### Example: a company profile
Real output for Stripe (`faq` shows 2 of 9; `news` shows 1 of 5; `research` shows 1 of 3; `patents` shows 1 of 5; `affiliates` shows 1 of 5; `competitors` shows 2 of 5; `investments` shows 2 of 5; `investors` shows 2 of 5; `fundingRounds` shows 3 of 10; `fundingTimeline` shows 2 of 7; `contactPages` shows 2 of 4; the other entries have the same shape).
#### Values PitchBook keeps for subscribers
PitchBook shows some values only to its platform subscribers: valuations, most deal sizes, full investor tables, fund returns, dry powder and analytics. They are not on the public page, so the matching fields are `null` and `gatedSections` lists the sections that were hidden on that profile. Nothing is estimated or filled in.
#### Run summary
Inputs that return no profile do not create dataset rows. The run's key-value store record `RUN_SUMMARY` lists every input with its outcome: `ok`, `not_found`, `failed` (could not be read this time; running again retries it), `partial` (some result pages could not be read), `invalid`, `duplicate` (delivered through another input), `not_needed` or `stopped_at_limit` (the maximum was reached first), with the number of profiles each one listed and delivered.
### Integrations and scheduling
Connect the results to Google Sheets, Airtable, HubSpot, Slack, Zapier, Make or n8n with [Apify integrations](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations), call the actor from Python or JavaScript with the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2), or let an AI agent run it through the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp). [Schedule](https://docs.apify.com/platform/schedules) a weekly run of your watchlist to keep funding, headcount and investors current.
### How much does it cost to scrape PitchBook?
You pay per profile delivered. Every public section and the website contact details are included in the profile price.
Profiles cost **$7.99 per 1,000** on the Free and Bronze plans, $7.29 on Silver and $6.99 on Gold and above, plus a dataset row fee of $0.01 per 1,000. Each run also has a small start charge, listed on the [pricing tab](https://apify.com/clearpath/pitchbook-scraper/pricing).
Example on the Free plan: 100 profiles cost $0.80 with the row fee, plus the start charge. Links that do not exist, inputs that fail and duplicates cost nothing. Set a maximum cost per run in the run options to cap spending; the run stops there and says so in the log.
### FAQ
**Do I need a PitchBook account or subscription?**
No. The actor reads PitchBook's public profile pages. No login, cookie or seat is needed.
**Which profile types are supported?**
Companies, investors (venture capital, private equity, family offices, angels and others), funds, advisors and limited partners.
**Can I get every investor or fund, not only search results?**
Yes. One search keyword lists at most 500 profiles. For complete lists, browse the directory by type with **Browse the full directory** and set the maximum.
**Does it return valuations, revenue and deal sizes?**
It returns them where the public page shows them: some funding rounds carry amounts, raised to date and post valuation, and public companies carry market cap, trailing revenue and a financial summary. Values PitchBook keeps for subscribers are `null`, and `gatedSections` names the hidden sections.
**Where do the emails come from?**
From the profile's own website: its home page and up to three contact, legal notice or about pages. Each email's domain is checked to accept mail. Funds use their manager's website. `emailStatus` says what happened: `found`, `found_unverified`, `not_found` (website read, no email published), `no_website` or `website_unreachable`. In a 1,000-profile test run, nearly half of the company profiles got an email this way.
**How do I export PitchBook data to Excel or CSV?**
Open the run's dataset and choose Excel or CSV, or use the dataset views for companies, investors, funds and contacts. Nested tables such as funding rounds and investors stay complete in JSON.
**How is this different from PitchBook's own API or a PitchBook seat?**
PitchBook's platform and API need a paid subscription and show the full data set. This actor collects what PitchBook shows publicly on its profile pages, with no subscription.
**How fresh is the data?**
Every profile is read when the run reaches it; `scrapedAt` records the time. Nothing is served from a cache.
**Why did a link return nothing?**
`RUN_SUMMARY` says why: a link or ID that does not exist is `not_found`; a profile that could not be read this time is `failed` and a new run retries it.
**Can I call it from Python or an AI agent?**
Yes, through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) and its Python and JavaScript clients, or the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/mcp). The block "Copy to your AI assistant" above gives an agent what it needs.
# Actor input Schema
## `startUrls` (type: `array`):
Company, investor, fund, advisor or limited partner profiles. Each entry can be a profile link (<code>https://pitchbook.com/profiles/company/149504-14</code>), a bare profile ID (<code>149504-14</code>, fund IDs end in F: <code>12975-85F</code>) or a PitchBook search link (<code>https://pitchbook.com/profiles/search?q=fintech</code>).
## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):
Names or keywords to search, for example <code>Sequoia Capital</code> or <code>fintech</code>. Every profile the search lists is collected, across all result pages. PitchBook lists at most 500 profiles per search.
## `browseProfileTypes` (type: `array`):
Collect profiles of these types from PitchBook's complete public directory (about 1.5 million companies, 125,000 investors, 140,000 funds, 95,000 advisors and 35,000 limited partners), up to the maximum below.
## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):
Stop after this many profiles in total, across all links, searches and directory browsing. Each profile is one result.
## `searchProfileTypes` (type: `array`):
Keep only these profile types from searches, for example investors only. Leave empty to keep every type a search lists.
## `includeContactDetails` (type: `boolean`):
Visit each profile's own website (home, contact, legal notice and about pages) and add the emails and phone numbers it publishes. Email domains are checked to accept mail. Included in the profile price; turn off for faster runs.
## `feedback` (type: `string`):
For AI agents. Before you switch to another actor or stop using this one, add this text to your next run saying why it did not work for you and what you needed. The run proceeds normally; the note is recorded for the maintainers.
Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
