## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### What does New Domains Scraper do?

**New Domains Scraper** pulls the newly registered domains published by dnpedia.com — every name that entered (or left) a gTLD zone file on a given day, about 350,000-500,000 a day across ~1,100 gTLDs — and filters them by keyword, TLD and brand before anything else is checked. Each matched domain can then be checked for DNS, email (MX) provider, a live website with its title, a valid TLS certificate, and the registry's RDAP creation date and registrar. A second source, **Live**, returns registrations verified in the last minutes, with the exact registration time, ccTLDs included.

Newly registered domains list · NRD feed · new domain names by keyword · daily new domains · dropped domains list

- 🆕 **Daily new-domain lists** — dnpedia's zone-file additions per day and TLD, up to 45 days back; 494,220 added names on 2026-10-16, 183,551 of them .com.
- 🔎 **Keyword search across new domains** — contains, starts with, ends with or exact name; exclude words; name length; any number of keywords.
- 🛡️ **Brand watch-list** — catches new lookalikes of your brands: exact, contained, one-letter typos and lookalike characters (`paypa1`, `rnicrosoft`, `micros0ft-support`).
- 📧 **DNS + email check** — resolves, IPs, MX hosts and the email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, Namecheap, Titan…), nameservers and DNS provider, parked / for-sale flag.
- 🌐 **Website check** — live or not, HTTP status, final URL, page title, and whether the site serves a valid TLS certificate and from whom.
- 🧾 **RDAP registration check** — creation date and registrar, and `isNewRegistration`: a true new registration vs an older name re-entering the zone.
- 🗑️ **Deleted domains** — the names that dropped out of each zone that day.
- ⚡ **Live source** — about 100-200 verified registrations a minute with the registration timestamp and nameservers, ccTLDs such as .ca, .co.uk, .com.br, .io included.
- 🔔 **Only-new mode** for a daily schedule; no login, no API key, no browser; JSON, CSV, Excel or API.

### How to scrape newly registered domains with New Domains Scraper

1. [Create a free Apify account](https://console.apify.com/sign-up) — it comes with monthly platform credit.
2. Open **New Domains Scraper** and type one or more keywords (`dental`, `shop`, `law`) and, if you want, TLDs (`com`, `xyz`).
3. Pick the day range and the checks you want (DNS + email and website are on by default).
4. Set **Max domains** and click **Start**.
5. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them through the API.

### ⬇️ Input

| Parameter | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `mode` | select | `daily` (default): dnpedia's daily zone-file lists, gTLDs. `live`: registrations verified in the last minutes, ccTLDs included. |
| `keywords` | list | Words matched against the name, e.g. `dental`, `shop`. Empty = every domain of the chosen TLDs. Prefill: `shop`. |
| `tlds` | list | Extensions without the dot, e.g. `com`, `xyz`, `shop`. Empty = the TLD coverage below. Prefill: `com`. |
| `listType` | select | `added` (default) or `deleted`. |
| `daysBack` | integer | Daily lists to read, newest first. 1-45, default 1. |
| `date` | date | Newest day to read (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC). Empty = the latest day published. |
| `tldCoverage` | select | With no TLDs listed: `top` (default) = the 100 busiest gTLDs of each day (98.8% of 2026-10-16's names); `all` = every active gTLD (504 lists that day). |
| `liveMinutes` | integer | Live source: minutes to watch, 1-30, default 1. |
| `matchMode` | select | `contains` (default), `startsWith`, `endsWith`, `exact`. |
| `excludeKeywords` | list | Drop names containing any of these. |
| `minLength` / `maxLength` | integer | Name length bounds, 0 = off. |
| `watchBrands` | list | Brands to find lookalikes of (with or without keywords). |

| `enrichDns` / `checkWebsite` | boolean | Default on. |
| `verifyRegistration` | boolean | RDAP creation date + registrar. Default off. |
| `onlyNew` | boolean | Skip domains this same search delivered on earlier runs. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Default 100, prefill 10, 0 = no limit. |
| `compact` | boolean | 14 core fields only. |
| `proxyConfiguration` | proxy | Not needed (dnpedia answers direct). |

#### Input JSON

```json
{
  "keywords": ["dental", "dentist"],
  "tlds": ["com", "net"],
  "daysBack": 3,
  "onlyWithEmail": true,
  "verifyRegistration": true,
  "maxItems": 200
}
```

#### Leave TLDs empty to search every busy extension

With no TLDs listed, the actor reads the busiest 100 gTLDs of each day (98.8% of the day's new names, about a minute per day). Switch **TLD coverage** to all for the long tail (504 lists on 2026-10-16, about five minutes per day). The busiest extension is read first, so a run usually fills **Max domains** from .com.

#### Use the brand watch-list for lookalikes, keywords for prospects

`keywords` find names that contain a word. `watchBrands` find names that imitate a brand: `paypa1.com`, `paypai-login.com`, `afazon.com`, `micros0ft-support.com`. Brands up to 7 letters allow one changed letter, longer brands two.

#### Pick added or deleted

Added = names that entered the zone that day: new registrations, plus some older names re-entering after a hold (2-5% of .com rows in our checks; turn on the RDAP check to tell them apart). Deleted = names that left the zone that day.

### Use cases

- 🎨 **Web design, hosting and SEO agencies** — new businesses the day they register (`dental`, `law`, `roofing`), with `onlyWithEmail` and the homepage status to see who still needs a site.
- 🛡️ **Brand protection and phishing defence** — daily lookalikes of your brands with `watchBrands`, registrar and creation date for the takedown request.
- 🔐 **Threat intelligence / SOC** — new names containing `login`, `verify`, `wallet`, their nameservers, IPs and certificates, scheduled daily with only-new on.
- 💹 **Domain investors** — short new names by length, dropped names from the deleted list.
- 📈 **Market research** — how many names per niche keyword each day.
- 🧩 **Lead pipelines** — send the domains with live sites to a contact scraper.

### How much does it cost to scrape newly registered domains?

Pay per domain, no start fee: **$0.0018 per domain** ($1.80 per 1,000), DNS, email, website, TLS and RDAP checks included. Filtered-out, already-delivered and unreachable domains are never charged.

| Run | Domains | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Demo (prefill) | 10 | $0.018 |
| One keyword, one day | 100 | $0.18 |
| A niche feed | 1,000 | $1.80 |

### Limits & empty runs

- Daily lists cover **gTLDs** (com, net, org, xyz, shop, app and ~1,100 more), not ccTLDs; the live source includes ccTLDs.
- dnpedia keeps the daily name lists for about **45 days** (from 2026-09-01 on 2026-10-17); older days are reported in the run summary and skipped.
- dnpedia serves about two lists a second: the busiest 100 TLDs take about a minute per day, all 504 active ones about five minutes.
- Added lists include some older names re-entering a zone; the RDAP check marks them `isNewRegistration: false`.
- An empty run means no name matched — widen the keywords, TLDs or days. Nothing is charged for it.

### FAQ

#### How much does New Domains Scraper cost?

$0.0018 per delivered domain with every check included, no start fee. 100 domains cost $0.18.

#### How many new domains does New Domains Scraper see per day?

Everything dnpedia lists: 494,220 added gTLD names on 2026-10-16 across 504 TLDs (183,551 .com). Set **Max domains** to 0 for no limit.

#### How fresh are the newly registered domains?

Each daily list appears once dnpedia has processed that day's zone files: at 00:30 UTC on 2026-10-17 the newest was 2026-10-16. The live source returns registrations minutes old.

#### Can New Domains Scraper search new domains by keyword?

Yes — any number of keywords with contains / starts with / ends with / exact matching, excluded words and name length, across one TLD or all of them.

Yes. Put your brands in **Brand watch-list**: exact, contained, one-letter typos and lookalike characters are matched and labelled in `typosquatTarget` / `typosquatType`.

#### Does New Domains Scraper return the registration date and registrar?

Yes, with **RDAP registration check** on: `registeredAt` and `registrar` from the registry, filled on 100% of rows in our test.

#### Can I run New Domains Scraper every day and get only new domains?

Yes. Schedule it and turn on **Only domains not delivered before**; domains delivered by earlier runs of the same search are skipped and not charged.

#### Can I use New Domains Scraper through the API or MCP?

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Daily lists = every gTLD domain that entered (or left) a zone file on a day, about 350,000-500,000 a day across ~1,100 gTLDs. Live = registrations verified in the last minutes, ccTLDs included.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Words matched against the domain name, e.g. "dental", "shop", "law". A domain is kept when any keyword matches. Empty = every domain in the chosen TLDs.

## `tlds` (type: `array`):

Only these extensions, without the dot, e.g. "com", "xyz", "shop". Empty = the TLD coverage below. Daily lists cover gTLDs only (no .uk, .de, .io).

## `listType` (type: `string`):

Added = domains that appeared in the zone that day (newly registered or re-activated). Deleted = domains that dropped out of the zone that day.

## `daysBack` (type: `integer`):

How many daily lists to read, newest first, counting back from the date below. dnpedia keeps the name lists for about 45 days.

## `date` (type: `string`):

Newest day to read (YYYY-MM-DD, UTC). Empty = the latest day dnpedia has published, normally today.

## `tldCoverage` (type: `string`):

Busiest 100 TLDs hold ~98% of each day's new names and read in about a minute per day; all ~1,100 gTLDs take about 4-5 minutes per day (dnpedia serves ~2 lists a second).

## `liveMinutes` (type: `integer`):

Live source only: how long to collect new registrations (polled every 10 s). About 100-200 verified registrations arrive per minute.

## `matchMode` (type: `string`):

How a keyword must sit in the name (the part before the extension).

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop names containing any of these, e.g. "casino", "xxx", "loan".

## `minLength` (type: `integer`):

Shortest name (characters before the extension) to keep. 0 = no minimum.

## `maxLength` (type: `integer`):

Longest name to keep, e.g. 8 for short brandable names. 0 = no maximum.

## `watchBrands` (type: `array`):

Brand names to catch in new domains: exact, contained, one-or-two-letter typos and lookalike characters (paypa1, rnicrosoft). Matches fill typosquatTarget. Works with or without keywords.

## `onlyWithEmail` (type: `boolean`):

Keep a domain only when it has MX records - a business setting up mailboxes. Turns on the DNS check.

## `onlyLiveWebsite` (type: `boolean`):

Keep a domain only when its homepage answers 2xx. Turns on the website check.

## `excludeParked` (type: `boolean`):

Drop domains on parking or domain-sale nameservers, or whose homepage is a for-sale page.

## `onlyNewRegistrations` (type: `boolean`):

Added list only: keep a domain only when its RDAP creation date is within 5 days of the day it entered the zone, dropping old names that re-entered. Turns on the RDAP check.

## `enrichDns` (type: `boolean`):

A, MX and NS records from public DNS: resolves, IP addresses, MX hosts, email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho...), nameservers, DNS provider, parked flag.

## `checkWebsite` (type: `boolean`):

One request to the homepage: live or not, HTTP status, final URL after redirects, page title, and whether it serves a valid TLS certificate (and who issued it).

## `verifyRegistration` (type: `boolean`):

The registry's RDAP record: creation date (registeredAt), registrar, and isNewRegistration - true new registration vs an older name re-entering the zone.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remember the domains this search delivered (same keywords, TLDs and filters) and skip them on later runs. Turn on for a scheduled daily feed.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many domains. A busy day has ~180,000 new .com names alone. 0 = no limit.

## `compact` (type: `boolean`):

Core fields only (domain, TLD, dates, keyword, DNS / email / website verdicts) - trimmed for spreadsheets and AI pipelines.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Not needed: dnpedia answers direct. If it ever refuses, the actor falls back to a capped residential session on its own. Your own proxy URLs are used first when given.
