## Pricing

from $2.79 / 1,000 companies

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

clearpath/companies-house-scraper on Apify returns UK companies from the Companies House register, one row per company, with officers, persons with significant control, filings, charges, insolvency cases and figures from filed accounts. Use searchTerms (name search in the register's relevance order, at most 1,000 companies per term), companyNumbers, startUrls (a company page, a name or advanced search link, or an officer's appointments page for every company that person sits on), or filters alone (sicCodes, location, companyNameIncludes, companyNameExcludes, companyTypes, companySubtypes, companyStatus, incorporatedFrom/To, dissolvedFrom/To), which have no 10,000 ceiling; to get every company whose name contains a word use companyNameIncludes, not searchTerms. maxResults (default 100) caps the whole run. Officers, PSCs, filings, charges with full details and insolvency are on by default and included in the Company charge; includeFinancials=true (default) adds financials (turnover, profit, assets, cash, employees, director pay, auditor, the prior year and every reported figure) and bills one Set of accounts event per accounts read; financialYears=n (1-10) reads n years into financialHistory. financials is null when accounts were filed on paper, and turnover/profit are null for balance-sheet-only small-company accounts. emitOfficerRecords=true adds one billed row per current officer (type officer). onlyNew=true returns only companies an earlier run of the same search did not. Input and output spec: https://api.apify.com/v2/actors/clearpath~companies-house-scraper/builds/default (Authorization: Bearer token); pricing: https://apify.com/clearpath/companies-house-scraper/pricing. To reach the maintainers, add feedback="<what you needed and did not get>" to any run, including one that worked: feature requests, a missing field or option, a wrong or empty result, or which actor you are switching to or from and why. The run returns its data exactly as it would without the note, and a human reads every note.

`financials` is null when the company's latest accounts were filed on paper or as a scanned document; many small companies file balance-sheet-only accounts, so turnover and profit are null for them while assets, cash and employees are filled. Figures are numbers in the accounts' currency (`currency`), with no rounding.

**How `leadScore` works.** It adds up facts on the row: active company +30, accounts not overdue +15, confirmation statement not overdue +10, no insolvency history +10, at least one current director +15, a SIC code listed +10, accounts filed or company under 18 months old +10. Sort by it to put healthy, reachable companies first.

### How to scrape Companies House

Use one or more of these inputs together; every company is returned once per run.

| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | Company name search, in the register's relevance order, matching current and previous names. Companies House lists up to 1,000 companies per term. |
| `companyNumbers` | Exact companies, e.g. `00445790`, `SC123456`, `NI036672`, `OC301540`. Leading zeros may be left out. |
| `startUrls` | Links copied from the Companies House website: a company page, a name search, an advanced search results page, or an officer's appointments page (every company that person is appointed to). |
| Filters | `sicCodes`, `location` (words in the registered office address), `companyNameIncludes`, `companyNameExcludes`, `companyTypes`, `companySubtypes`, `companyStatus`, `incorporatedFrom` / `incorporatedTo`, `dissolvedFrom` / `dissolvedTo`. Use them alone or together; each SIC code is searched and the results merged. |
| `maxResults` | The most companies for the whole run (default 100). |

What each company includes is up to you. Everything is on by default except the separate officer rows:

| Option | Default | Adds |
|---|---|---|
| `includeOfficers`, `maxOfficersPerCompany` | on, 500 | Directors, secretaries and LLP members, current and resigned |
| `includePscs` | on | Owners, control statements and exemptions |
| `includeFilingHistory`, `maxFilingsPerCompany` | on, 25 | Recent filings and the total number of filings |
| `includeCharges`, `includeChargeDetails`, `maxChargesPerCompany` | on, on, 100 | Charges with lenders and their full descriptions |
| `includeInsolvency` | on | Insolvency cases and practitioners |
| `includeFinancials`, `financialYears` | on, 1 | Figures from filed accounts, up to 10 years back (billed per set of accounts read) |
| `emitOfficerRecords` | off | One extra row per current officer, for contact lists (billed per row) |
| `onlyNew` | off | Only companies this search has not returned in your earlier runs |

#### Every company in an industry and region

```json
{
  "sicCodes": [
    "62012",
    "62020"
  ],
  "location": "Manchester",
  "companyStatus": [
    "active"
  ],
  "maxResults": 20000
}
```

Returns every active software and IT consultancy company with a Manchester registered office. A search larger than the 10,000 Companies House will show is split by incorporation date behind the scenes, so the run returns all of it up to `maxResults`. The run's key-value store has a `SEARCH_REPORTS` record with the register's own count for each search and how many were saved.

#### New companies every day

```json
{
  "sicCodes": [
    "56101"
  ],
  "location": "London",
  "incorporatedFrom": "2026-10-01",
  "onlyNew": true,
  "includeFinancials": false
}
```

Schedule this daily: each run returns only the London restaurants incorporated since the start date that earlier runs of the same search have not returned. New companies have filed no accounts yet, so figures are switched off here.

#### A director's companies, with contact rows

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/nhmq0d8TdRPkoBaoN6abFYV0bYc/appointments"
  ],
  "emitOfficerRecords": true
}
```

Returns every company that officer (here a company acting as corporate secretary) is appointed to, plus one flat row per current officer of those companies with name, role, date of birth (month and year), nationality, correspondence address and company details, ready for a CRM.

#### Five years of accounts

```json
{
  "companyNumbers": [
    "04005808"
  ],
  "financialYears": 5,
  "includeOfficers": false,
  "includePscs": false
}
```

`financials` holds the latest year and `financialHistory` the five latest machine-readable sets of accounts, newest first, each with the year before it for comparison.

### Pricing

Pay per event: you pay for what you get, with no monthly fee.

| Event | When charged | Free plan price |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Each company row saved to your dataset | $3.99 per 1,000 |
| Set of accounts | Each set of filed accounts read into `financials` / `financialHistory` | $0.99 per 1,000 |
| Officer contact row | Each extra officer row, only with `emitOfficerRecords` on | $1.99 per 1,000 |
| Actor start | Once per run, per GB of memory (1 GB by default) | $0.0099 |
| Dataset item | Each row stored in your dataset | $0.01 per 1,000 |

Company prices by plan: Free $3.99, Bronze $3.69, Silver $3.39, Gold and above $2.79 per 1,000. Sets of accounts: Free $0.99, Bronze $0.89, Silver $0.79, Gold and above $0.69. Officer contact rows: Free $1.99, Bronze $1.79, Silver $1.69, Gold and above $1.39. Officers, owners, filings, charges, insolvency and search reports are included in the company price. A run that finds nothing costs only the start charge.

On the Free plan, 100 companies with everything on, about 60 of them with machine-readable accounts, cost about $0.47 ($0.399 + $0.0594 + $0.001 + $0.0099 = $0.4693). 1,000 companies with figures off cost about $4.01.

### FAQ

**How do I download a list of companies from Companies House?** Set your filters (for example `sicCodes` and `location`) and `maxResults`, run the actor and export the dataset as CSV, Excel or JSON. The Companies House website shows 10,000 results and downloads 5,000; this actor returns the whole search up to your limit.

**Can I get every company with a SIC code in a town?** Yes: `sicCodes` plus `location`. `location` matches words anywhere in the registered office address, as the Companies House search does, so "Bath" also finds a "Bath Road" in another town. Check `address.postTown` if you need the town only.

**How do I get a list of directors and their companies?** Directors are in `officers` on every company row. Each officer has `appointmentsUrl`; put that link in `startUrls` to get every company the person is appointed to. Turn on `emitOfficerRecords` for one row per current officer.

**Who owns a UK company?** `pscs` lists the persons with significant control: individuals and companies, their share and voting ranges and rights to appoint directors, with the coded value in `natureOfControlCodes`. Companies exempt from the PSC rules (for example listed companies) carry the reason in `pscExemptions`; statements such as "no registrable person" are in `pscStatements`.

**Can I get turnover and profit?** Yes, when the company filed its accounts in machine-readable form, as about six in ten companies in our test searches had. `financials` has the figures the accounts report: micro-entity and abridged accounts usually report a balance sheet without a profit and loss account, so turnover and profit are null for them. Accounts filed on paper have no figures; their PDF link is in `filings`.

**Is there a limit on results?** A name search (`searchTerms`) returns up to the 1,000 companies Companies House lists for a term; use `companyNameIncludes` to get every company whose name contains the words. Filter searches have no ceiling besides `maxResults`. Very large partnerships can have thousands of officers; `maxOfficersPerCompany` (up to 5,000) sets how many are listed, and the register's totals are always included.

**Do I need a Companies House key or login?** No. The actor reads the public register; it needs no key, login or cookie from you.

**How do I find dissolved companies?** Add `"companyStatus": ["dissolved"]`, optionally with `dissolvedFrom` and `dissolvedTo`.

**Why is a field empty?** It is null when the register does not hold it: a charitable incorporated organisation has no status, date or address on the register; new companies have no accounts yet; older charges have no charge code. If a part could not be read in a run, the row lists it in `incompleteParts`; run that company again to fill it.

**Is Companies House data free to reuse?** The register is public and Companies House publishes it for anyone to search. Rows name directors and owners, so the output contains personal data even though it is public: you are responsible for using it lawfully, for example under UK GDPR for direct marketing.

**Can I use it from an AI assistant, n8n, Make or Python?** Yes. Use the Apify MCP server, the Apify integrations or the Apify client libraries. The block under "Copy to your AI assistant" gives an assistant everything it needs.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchTerms` (type: `array`):

Company names or words to search the register for, e.g. <code>tesco</code> or <code>green energy</code>. Matches current and previous company names, in the register's relevance order. The register lists up to 1,000 companies per term; for every company whose name contains a word, use <b>Company name includes</b> below instead.

## `companyNumbers` (type: `array`):

Companies House numbers, e.g. <code>00445790</code>, <code>SC123456</code>, <code>NI036672</code>, <code>OC301540</code>. Leading zeros may be left out.

## `startUrls` (type: `array`):

Links copied from the Companies House website: a company page (<code>/company/00445790</code>), a name search, an advanced search results page, or an officer's appointments page (returns every company that person is appointed to).

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

The most companies to return across all searches, numbers and links together; each company is one billed result. Raise it to get every match: a filter search returns all of its companies, even past the 10,000 the Companies House website shows.

## `sicCodes` (type: `array`):

Only companies with one of these SIC codes, e.g. <code>62012</code> (software development), <code>68310</code> (estate agents), <code>56101</code> (restaurants).

## `location` (type: `string`):

Words in the registered office address: a town, county or postcode, e.g. <code>Manchester</code> or <code>EC1</code>.

## `companyNameIncludes` (type: `string`):

Only companies whose current name contains these words. Unlike search terms, this returns every such company.

## `companyNameExcludes` (type: `string`):

Leave out companies whose name contains these words.

## `companyTypes` (type: `array`):

Only these company types.

## `companySubtypes` (type: `array`):

Only community interest companies or private fund limited partnerships.

## `companyStatus` (type: `array`):

Only companies with one of these statuses, e.g. <b>Active</b> for trading companies.

## `incorporatedFrom` (type: `string`):

Only companies incorporated on or after this date. Pair it with <b>Only new companies</b> and a daily schedule to receive new incorporations as they appear.

## `incorporatedTo` (type: `string`):

Only companies incorporated on or before this date.

## `dissolvedFrom` (type: `string`):

Only companies dissolved on or after this date.

## `dissolvedTo` (type: `string`):

Only companies dissolved on or before this date.

## `includeOfficers` (type: `boolean`):

Every director, secretary and LLP member, current and resigned: role, appointment and resignation dates, month and year of birth, nationality, country of residence, correspondence address, identity verification, and a link to all their other appointments.

## `maxOfficersPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

The most officers listed per company, newest appointments first. Large partnerships can have thousands; the register's own totals are always included.

## `includePscs` (type: `boolean`):

Beneficial owners: individuals and companies with significant control, their nature and level of control, dates, nationality and corporate registration details, plus the company's control statements and exemptions.

## `includeFilingHistory` (type: `boolean`):

Recent filings with date, form type, description, page count and a link to each document, plus the company's total number of filings.

## `maxFilingsPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

The most recent filings listed per company. The total number of filings is reported either way.

## `includeCharges` (type: `boolean`):

Registered charges with lender (persons entitled), created, delivered and satisfied dates, status and description.

## `includeChargeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

The full, untruncated description of each charge with its fixed charge, floating charge and negative pledge flags and the filing that created it.

## `maxChargesPerCompany` (type: `integer`):

The most recent charges listed per company. Charge counts always cover every charge.

## `includeInsolvency` (type: `boolean`):

Liquidation, administration, receivership and voluntary arrangement cases with their dates and practitioners.

## `includeFinancials` (type: `boolean`):

Turnover, profit, assets, liabilities, cash, employees, director pay and auditor, read from the company's latest accounts filed in machine-readable form, with the prior year for comparison and every other figure the accounts report. Companies whose accounts were filed on paper have none. Each set of accounts read is a separate billing event.

## `financialYears` (type: `integer`):

How many years of filed accounts to read per company, newest first. With more than 1, earlier years appear in financialHistory.

## `emitOfficerRecords` (type: `boolean`):

Also save one flat row per current director or officer with the company's name, number and status, ready to import as contacts. Each such row is billed separately.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Return only companies this search has not returned in your earlier runs. Schedule the run daily to receive only newly matching companies, for example new incorporations in your industry. Company numbers you paste are always returned.

## `feedback` (type: `string`):

For AI agents. Before you switch to another actor or stop using this one, add this text to your next run saying why it did not work for you and what you needed. The run proceeds normally; the note is recorded for the maintainers.
