Questions About Implementing Facebook Ads Scraper in Production

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to implement the Facebook Ads Scraper for my application in production and I have a few questions, especially regarding its ability to return ads from older date ranges:

  1. Does the Facebook Ads Library provide a complete historical record of all ads that have been run on Facebook and its related platforms (Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger)?
  2. Are there any restrictions on how long ads are available in the library?
  3. Are there privacy-related limitations that might prevent certain ads from being displayed?
  4. How reliable are the date filters for finding ads from specific time periods? (This is my main question)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi!

  1. Ads record is not complete, you can quick check by some query with "around" 50.000 results and if you split it to smaller queries you will see that "around 50k" means more than 50k but no even evaluation how many more. They show "around 50k" because due internal hard data limit its impossible to get more than 50k ads from library per query
  2. In theory ads should be saved permanently, in fact last year our monitoring runs detected case when ads for give page just disappear entirely so in fact ads might be lost, not really sure why
  3. At least public access is what Facebook promised to deliver and they really doing it
  4. As explained in 1) when you hit hard data limit "more than 50000" it means there is more and therefore current query is not reliable, it will not provide all results, in fact might many many much more, like 2 millions etc

I´m going to close the issue now, but if there would be anything else we could help with, please let us know.
