Could it be possible to add functionality to also download profile images and music cover images during the scraping? Currently they are scraped with the TT website links that expire in 24 hours.

Thanks for the great idea, we will add this to the scraper similarly to the video cover URL field. The downloading might a bit complex, because TikTok block that a lot, so the development might take some time.

The TikTok author metadata avatar URL has required params for refresh token and expiration. This means I cannot use the avatar permanently. From the avatar preview (see attached screenshot), it looks like the image is already being saved and made accessible at https://images.apifyusercontent.com. However, the exported JSON only has the TikTok author metadata avatar URL (with a refresh token and expiration). Can you please include the permanent Apify URL in the author metadata?

Hi, thanks for sharing your insights. Yes, the avatar URL from TikTok is not permanent and only lasts for some specific duration.

Just to clarify, https://images.apifyusercontent.com is just an image caching server. It's not a part of the output, because it's just supposed to improve the UI experience of looking at the dataset output. To make an actually permanent output URL, we will have to save it right in the crawler level.

So as mentioned previously, we will add this as an optional download the same way the “video cover URL” is extracted for example. We will prioritize it more since there are more users interested in this feature :)
