- Skills gap analysis - see which skills the market trains for, and at what volume, in your field
- Curriculum and product research - study how leading institutions structure a subject before designing your own course
- Corporate L&D planning - shortlist courses by level, duration and rating for a training catalogue
- Competitive research for edtech - benchmark enrolment and ratings against comparable offerings
- Content marketing - find which topics attract mass enrolment and build material around them
- Academic partnership scouting - identify the institutions active in a subject area
Why enrolment counts are the useful number
Course ratings cluster high and say little. enrolledCount is a demand measurement: it shows how many people chose to start learning a topic, which makes it a usable proxy for the market size of a skill. Combined with skills, the catalogue becomes a map of what the labour market is training for.
Notes
enrolledCountandratingCountare cumulative and only ever rise, so cross-course comparisons should account for how long a course has existed.durationWeeksis the provider's estimate, not measured effort.skillsare publisher-declared tags, which makes them marketing copy as much as curriculum, but they are consistent enough to aggregate.- Specializations and certificates bundle several courses; set
includeSpecializationsto false if you want single courses only.
