Data extraction tools built on one principle: a tool that cannot get the data should say so.

Most scrapers share a defect. When the target blocks them, they return an empty list and mark the run as successful. Your dashboard shows a green tick, your spreadsheet is empty, and you find out days later when a decision has already been made on data that was never collected.

Every tool here checks three things on each page before it returns anything:

1. Did a response arrive at all?
2. Is it the real page, or a block page?
3. Does it actually contain the content you asked for?

Fail any one and the run is marked FAILED, with the reason attached.

They also separate two failures that most tools treat as identical: temporarily blocked, which is retried on a fresh connection, and the site changed its layout, which stops immediately and reports, because retrying a layout change forever hides the problem instead of surfacing it.
