I build focused scrapers that turn German public-sector and industrial portals into clean, typed datasets. The interesting data usually sits in 1990s HTML: split table cells, ISO-8859-1 without a charset header, pagination instead of an API. That's the part I enjoy.

What I'm building

  • VEBEG Surplus Auctions — active German federal surplus auctions and historical award prices (Zuschlagspreise), with German price formats normalized to floats.

How I work

  • Deterministic parsers — no LLM guessing anywhere in the data path
  • Real values only: 3.907,00 € becomes 3907.0, dates are normalized, placeholder rows are filtered out
  • Polite crawling: low request rates, public pages only, no login walls, no personal data
  • Data provenance is explicit: every record carries its source URL
