Ground Truth

I build small, focused tools on public government data sources — starting with US federal contract awards from the Treasury's USAspending API. One principle: you should never have to take a data tool's word for it. Every record my tools return includes a link back to the official government record it came from. Open it, compare it, check it. If a value ever disagrees with the source, that's a bug and I want to hear about it. How these are built

• Documented public APIs only. No scraping, no login bypass, no personal data.
• Tested against published records — not against their own output. Expected values come from the government's published data or hand-worked examples, never from running the tool and saving whatever it printed.
• Failed runs cost nothing. Charging happens per record delivered. If an upstream API is down or your input is rejected, you are not billed.
• Honest limits. Every listing states plainly what the tool does not do. A tool that surprises you is worse than one that says no. Available now
