Finviz Stock Screener

Finviz Stock Screener is a NexGenData tool on Apify that returns US stock screener rows with ticker, sector, market cap, P/E and price from Finviz.

Screen US-listed stocks (NYSE/Nasdaq) via any Finviz screener URL. Built for analysts, quant researchers, fintech builders and AI agents. Factual public data — not financial or investment advice.

All screener views are supported — Overview, Valuation, Financial, Ownership, Performance, Technical and Custom URLs each return the columns that view shows (field names follow the finviz column headers; ticker, company, marketCap, pe, price, change, volume keep their standard names). Since 0.0.83.

📊 What you get

Clean JSON, one record per stock. Key fields (full output has 10 fields per stock):

  • ticker — Exchange ticker symbol
  • price — Latest traded price (local currency)
  • pe — Price-to-earnings ratio
  • volume — Trading volume
  • sector — Sector classification
  • industry — Industry classification

All prices in USD.

Local-market specifics: Pass any Finviz screener URL; returns ticker, company, sector, industry, country, market cap, P/E, price and volume.

Pricing: $0.05 per stock (Pay-Per-Event) — about 20 stocks per $1. A $0.01 actor-start fee applies per run.

🤖 Use with AI agents

This actor returns structured JSON built for LLM and agent pipelines — no data-vendor contract, no scraping to maintain. Point Claude, a custom OpenAI Agents SDK tool, an n8n flow, or any MCP-aware client at it and get US (NYSE / Nasdaq) fundamentals on demand. Ask for a filtered slice and the agent gets exactly the rows it needs.

Sample agent prompt:

Screen the US (NYSE / Nasdaq) for dividend yield > 4% and market cap > $1B, return the top 20 as JSON.

Agentic payments (x402): Supports agentic payment via x402 — agents can call this actor with USDC, no API key required.

Run it on a schedule

Stock screens change every trading day, so a daily run after the US market close is the natural cadence. Run it intraday if you trade on the screen, or weekly for slower quality and dividend screens. Between runs, tickers enter and leave the screen as they meet or miss your filters, and values such as price, change, volume and P/E update. The actor has no built-in new-only mode, so compare runs by ticker to see which stocks joined or dropped off. Send each run's results onward with a webhook, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or the Apify API.

FAQ

Why use this instead of the Finviz website?

Finviz does not publish a public API for screener results, and bulk export on the site is a paid feature. This actor reads the same public screener page a browser sees and returns each matching stock as a structured row you can export to JSON, CSV or Excel, or send into a notebook or spreadsheet. It needs no Finviz account, runs on a schedule, and you pay per row. It does not unlock filters that Finviz reserves for Elite subscribers.

What does a typical run cost?

You pay per result, not for run time: $0.05 for each row in the results, plus $0.00005 per run start (charged per GB of run memory, minimum one). A run that returns 50 stocks costs about $2.50. Live prices are always shown in the Pricing tab.

How do I export Finviz screener results to CSV or Google Sheets?

Build your screen on Finviz, copy the screener URL, and paste it into screenerUrl. Set maxResults to cap the number of stocks. Each matching ticker becomes one row, which you can download as CSV or send to Google Sheets with an integration.

Which columns does each row include?

It depends on the screener view in your URL. Overview, Valuation, Financial, Ownership, Performance, Technical and Custom views each return the columns that view shows on Finviz, with field names that follow the Finviz column headers. ticker, company, marketCap, pe, price, change and volume keep standard names. To get technical fields such as RSI, use a Technical or Custom view.

Does it cover stocks outside the US?

No. Coverage is US stocks on NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX, plus ETFs, as Finviz lists them. For other markets, use one of the exchange-specific screeners.

Is the data real-time?

Each run reads the Finviz screener at the moment it runs, so you get whatever Finviz shows at that time. It does not stream prices and does not return price history.
