How I approach scraping

Most scraping tools are slow because they simulate a real browser. That's expensive and fragile. I build on top of structured APIs where possible — faster execution, lower cost, more reliable results.

The page-skipping strategy in my Google Maps scraper came from statistical analysis of 1,178 results across 8 niches: Google returns ~84% duplicate results on every other page. Skipping those pages cuts cost without losing unique data.
