What does LinkedIn Profile Scraper do?
LinkedIn Profile Scraper pulls structured data from public LinkedIn profiles, so you can build prospect lists, enrich CRMs, and track creators without writing scrapers or juggling cookies. It runs over plain HTTP on the Apify platform, skips the login wall, and returns clean JSON, CSV, or Excel.
Works on any public profile. No LinkedIn account needed. Cheap.
- Full profile data: name, headline, location, follower count, current employer, employment history, education, languages, and awards. Enough to fill a CRM row without a second call.
- Recent posts and articles: up to 8 posts and 10 articles per profile, with dates, URLs, and like counts. Useful for tracking who's active and what they're saying.
- No login, no cookies: pure HTTP with a browser User-Agent. LinkedIn won't rate-limit your sales team's account because your account isn't involved.
- Bulk in, dataset out: paste 10 or 10,000 usernames. The actor walks them at about one profile every 2-3 seconds and drops results into a dataset you can export.
- URL or username: accepts
https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/or justwilliamhgates. Paste whatever you copied. - Integrations built in: push results straight to Make, Zapier, Slack, Airbyte, GitHub, Google Sheets, Google Drive, or any webhook.

How to scrape LinkedIn profiles: step by step
- Create a free Apify account. 30 seconds, no card.
- Open LinkedIn Profile Scraper in the Apify Console.
- Paste profile URLs or bare usernames into the
profilesfield. One per line. - Click Start. A 100-profile run finishes in roughly 4 minutes.
- Export the results as JSON, CSV, or Excel, or fetch them via the Apify API.
How much does LinkedIn Profile Scraper cost?
Pay-per-result. $0.005 per profile, or $5 for 1,000. There's no subscription.
The Apify Free plan gives you $5 in usage credits every month, which is enough for about 900 profiles for free each month once platform compute is factored in. On the $29/month Starter plan, you can pull roughly 5,200 profiles per month at the same rate.
Zero profiles scraped means zero dollars charged. If a URL is wrong or a profile is private, you don't pay for it.

Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to scrape LinkedIn?
Scraping public LinkedIn profiles is generally allowed in the US (the Ninth Circuit hiQ Labs ruling in 2022 set the precedent) and most of the EU, as long as you don't collect personal data covered by GDPR or CCPA without a lawful basis. This scraper only touches pages any signed-out visitor can see. You're still responsible for how you store and use the data you get back.
Apify wrote a longer breakdown here: Is web scraping legal?.
How much does LinkedIn Profile Scraper cost?
$0.005 per profile, billed only when a profile is actually extracted. The Apify Free plan covers roughly 900 profiles per month. The $29/month Starter plan covers about 5,200.
Can I integrate it with other tools?
You can push results into Make, Zapier, Slack, Airbyte, GitHub, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and anything else that accepts webhooks or polls an API. See Apify integrations.
Can I use it with the Apify API?
Yes. Kick off a run with:
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/sourabhbgp~linkedin-profile-scraper/runs?token=APIFY_TOKEN" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-d '{"profiles":["williamhgates","satyanadella"]}'
Full reference: Apify API.
Can I use it through an MCP Server?
Yes. Apify ships an MCP server that exposes every actor as a tool, so Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP client can call LinkedIn Profile Scraper directly. Setup: Apify MCP docs.
Do I need a LinkedIn account or cookies?
No. The scraper fetches what a signed-out visitor sees, using a browser User-Agent. You never plug in your LinkedIn login, so your account isn't at risk of getting flagged.
How many posts and articles does each profile return?
LinkedIn embeds roughly 8 recent posts and 10 recent articles in the public profile's JSON-LD data. That's what this scraper returns. Anything older needs a logged-in session, which this scraper doesn't do.
What happens if a URL is bad or a profile is private?
The run keeps going. Bad usernames get skipped with a warning in the logs and don't count toward your bill. Private or closed profiles also skip cleanly, no crash, no charge.
