Scraping public LinkedIn profiles is generally allowed in the US (the Ninth Circuit hiQ Labs ruling in 2022 set the precedent) and most of the EU, as long as you don't collect personal data covered by GDPR or CCPA without a lawful basis. The run keeps going. Bad usernames get skipped with a warning in the logs and don't count toward your bill. Private or closed profiles also skip cleanly, no crash, no charge.
