Bilibili (哔哩哔哩, B站) is China's main long form video platform, home to a huge share of Chinese product reviews, gaming, tech and creator content. This actor reads it four ways, in any mix: search videos by keyword, look up any video's full stats, get a creator's (UP主) public profile, and pull a video's danmaku (弹幕), the bullet comments that fly across the screen, each tied to the second of the video it appears at. It talks to Bilibili's own public JSON API with an anonymous visitor session, so there is no login, no browser and no proxy to pay for.

"Form prefill" values fill the Console form for you but are not defaults: an API call that leaves them out sends nothing for those modes. The run uses 512 MB of memory and a 3,600 second timeout by default.

With no keywords, videos, creators or danmaku videos, the run ends at once with a summary row and charges only the start fee.

What data do you get?

All rows land in one dataset. Fields that Bilibili does not supply for a row are left out of it rather than sent as null.

Videos (video-search-result from search, video-detail-result from videoUrls): bvid and aid (Bilibili's current and older video IDs), title, description, author_name, author_uid, duration_seconds, published_at, view_count, danmaku_count (all time bullet comment total), reply_count, favorite_count, like_count, thumbnail_url, video_url, scraped_at. Search rows add tags and keyword; detail rows add coin_count and share_count.

Creators (creator-profile-result): uid, name, gender (as Bilibili shows it, such as 男 or 女), level (account level 0 to 6), fans_count, following_count, bio, verification_title, vip_status, avatar_url, profile_url, scraped_at.

Danmaku (danmaku): video_bvid, video_aid, video_title, video_url, cid and part_index (which part of a multi part video), danmaku_id, text, video_time_sec, video_time_label, mode and mode_label, font_size, color_hex and color_decimal, sent_at and sent_timestamp, pool and pool_label, sender_hash, weight, scraped_at.

Each run ends with a record_type: "summary" row (keywords searched, videos, details, profiles and danmaku delivered, danmaku_billing, danmaku_free, charged_for, and a note if Bilibili blocked a lookup) and an _type: "info" row. Neither is ever charged.

How many danmaku does a video give?

Bilibili serves each part's current display pool, not its full history. The 5.5 million view video in our runs, BV1xx411c7mD, served a pool of 3,600 while its all time danmaku_count is 128,592. Expect a few thousand per part; the video row's danmaku_count is usually much larger than the pool.

From 15 October 2026 at 07:57 UTC (13:27 IST): everything above stays the same, and danmaku become a priced event, danmaku-scraped, at $0.001 each ($1.00 per 1,000) on every plan. The 20,000 per run limit then gives way to your run's own spending cap. The summary row's danmaku_billing says free or billed for each run.

The start fee, exactly. Apify's apify-actor-start event is charged once when a run starts, at $0.005 for each GB of memory the run uses, with a minimum of one event. This actor runs on 512 MB by default, so a default run pays the minimum, $0.005.

Worked examples on the Gold tier: 500 search results cost $0.30 plus $0.005. Stats for 100 tracked videos cost $0.06 plus $0.005. The whole danmaku pool of 10 videos (about 30,000 rows) is free in two runs today, or $30.00 plus the start fee from 15 October.

FAQ

What is Bilibili? Bilibili (哔哩哔哩, often called B站) is one of China's largest video platforms, closest to YouTube in what it hosts, with a young audience and a strong culture of product reviews, gaming, anime, tech and how to videos. Its signature feature is danmaku, comments that scroll across the video at the moment they refer to.

Do I need a Bilibili account, cookies or an API key? No. You need only an Apify account. Each run starts the way a first time visitor's browser does: it picks up the anonymous visitor cookies Bilibili's homepage sets, then signs its search and video requests the way Bilibili's own web page does. It never signs in.

Does it need a proxy? No. It calls Bilibili's public API directly from Apify, with no proxy and no browser, which is why it is quick and cheap. If Bilibili answers with a risk control code, the actor stops that kind of lookup, notes it in the summary and charges nothing for it.

How many results can I get? Up to 500 videos per keyword (25 pages of 20), any number of video and creator lookups, and danmaku for up to 50 videos per run (up to 20,000 per video). Free danmaku are limited to 20,000 per run until 15 October.

How fresh is the data? Every run reads Bilibili live. Counts are as of scraped_at.

Can I search in English? Yes, but most of Bilibili's content is in Chinese, so Chinese keywords return far more relevant videos.

Are danmaku the same as comments? No. Danmaku fly across the video while it plays, each tied to a second of the timeline. Comments (评论) sit below the video; this actor returns their total as reply_count, not the comments themselves.

Who sent each danmaku? Bilibili publishes only an anonymous sender hash, so that is all you get: no user names and no profiles on danmaku rows.

Can I run it on a schedule? Yes. Save your input as a task, then in Apify Console open Schedules, choose Create new and pick a time or a cron expression such as 0 8 * * *. The actor does not remember earlier runs, so to follow videos over time keep their bvid and compare each day's counts.
