how do you use this to search through each reddit users posts and comments on their profile in one subreddit to find the ones that may have commented or posted on a specific other subreddit?
I am not sure that I understood your question. For specific logic like this, you probably need to scrape the data from the subreddits that you want and filter it later in a spreadsheet or using another tool.

understandable I had a feeling I would need to do that, how do I get a list of all users that have ever commented or posted in a subreddit? everytime I try to get a list of users it just on a subreddit it just shows comments and posts but never who posted, I dont care for the contents of these posts just need a list of anyone thats engaged in said posts
each comment or post has a field called username in the results dataset
